My truck did this, battery good everything good, it’s the starter wires....they got rusty and frayed I took a wire from starter wire to starter bolt and it started so have to get new starter

My Ram 2500 wouldn't start, just a single click. Before you go spending money on a starter, relay, etc, check your batteries. Mine showed 12.13 volts, but they were shorted out and couldn't handle a load to crank the motor. I changed my starter, relay and ignition switch before I found out what the problem was. By that time, I was already $400 into parts and same issue. I hope experience saves someone a bit of money.

I’m having a starting issue randomly this morning. Wouldn’t turn over, clocking noise from the fuse box and lights flickered. Definitely gonna take the battery in to get tested after work and pray I just need either a new battery or new starter relay. Not really wanting to spend money on a whole new starter.

I thought the same with my ram truck but it was a locked wireless control module that would not let me crank it over , disconnecting the battery over night cleared the block and started up like a champ again .

My Ram did the same thing. It was the starter. It started it once in a while but would still start after few tries. Just got worse until I changed the starter. Doing great since, no issues. They put cheap starters in them. Found out it’s a big problem for a lot of Ram trucks.

So I had this same issue and hour apon hours to try and figure it out so there's a black box on the back wall behind rear seat that box will corrode and make it so this happens I mean hours of trying to figure it out running complete wiring harness to find it at the very back haha but that was last year no issues

Bro, I have a 2013 Dodge Charger, i love it but as soon as 2022 hit, i had issue after issue with the car. Makes sense, it’s old and it has 150K miles.
So, I got a 2020 Ram thinking it’s reliable I’m good, 2 minutes into having the truck, It won’t start.. I was having the same issues you are.

Battery was old and when I purchased it in 2020 it was already four years old, so shelf life was not current. Warrent got me a new one.
