Brilliant video I had a very small gap letting the light through and whistling in the wind at speed, watching this whilst on the school run meant I fixed my problem in the 4 mins it took to watch this video with no tools 👏 thank you!!
Excellent video! Thanks, it's such a huge help. I was told by the company that had installed my new soft top that I needed to replace the whole piece. I had been having issues with them not staying shut, but thought it was just because if my old worn out top which I had also purchased cables and thought they would fix the problem. So I checked into the cost so I'd know something when they called back with a cost for parts & labor. And then I stumbled upon your video. I almost laughed when I heard the quote. I just ltk that I would just use the gorilla tape on them again and work on adjusting them myself. Saved me @ $340. I appreciated coming back to it (your video) before I did the adjustment, you made it simple and uncomplicated. I have watched part of another bunch of videos and they mostly made me feel over my head... just so much more complicated. So yes, kudos on a great job. And thanks for the information. Be well~
Bless your heart, hopefully this will help my slight leak I had- seemed like the top, especially passenger side, wasn’t latching down tight enough. Now it’s nice and snug 👍🏻
A fix that has worked for 15 years for my 2001 NB is to simply fold up some aluminum foil to about the thickness of a quarter, jamb it between the worn out nub and the piece of metal on the frame of the latch and close it. That smashes the aluminum foil all the more and the latch will firmly close. Takes 15 seconds and is free.

I have had a MK2.5 MX5 for 12 years and never knew that. Many thanks for the video.

Solid how to! Thanks a lot, I’ve finally adjusted my Miata’s soft top latches and it’s WAY better and easier to catch on now
Been looking for this exact thing, even saw the flying miata video but they lost me, thank you so much!!
Thank you for this video & advice. I’ve been surfing the web for a while now, trying to find solution for this problem I also have. Cheers
Thanks. Got a leak on passenger side only so probably adjust fastener and maybe new seal if that doesn’t fix it
Only been waiting two years to get round to this one was a bit too loose t'other too tight, but no more TY (y)
I'll be honest, if somebody hadn't requested it i don't think i'd have ever got around to it either 😂
