These discussions are so needed and also important for adult Christians to listen to and learn from. A lot of us are struggling too, largely because we weren't taught this growing up or exposed to it when we first became Christians. Many churches and parents don't know how to discuss sexuality beyond the "don't" do this or "don't" do that or they only offer a one-size fits all model. The devil is continuously evolving his message and tactics, and that's why he's gaining so much ground in this area. We as Christians gotta have the hard and sometimes uncomfortable conversations to gain freedom and wholeness. If Christians don't talk about it, then someone else will. I'll definitely be watching, listening, and learning.
Blessings! It would be awesome if this series of videos from Christian Sexuality could be translated to other languages like Spanish. Preferably voice over or captioned. May the Lord provide the way and means for that 🙏
Do you not know that your body is the temple of The Holy Spirit? 1Cor 6:19. Do not dwell on yourselves and your feelings, they are bound to deceive you, rather dwell on the undiluted word of God. At the end of the day this body will die and perish one day and what is left is your spirit and your soul. Do not allow what you do with your flesh damage the wellness of your spirit. What did God say and do about these things? Cut out anything that would make you go to hell. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
Your trailer says, "from a biblical perspective." Do you mean from an "evangelical-biblicistic" perspective? Isn't that more honest? There are other biblical scholars, christian ministers, bible studiers, psychologists of faith, and devout christian faith-oriented people, who share a different sexual ethic than the one you claim is "biblical" and "christian"... AND they would also say it is because of their christian faith and devotion, their commitment to Scripture, that has led them to a different sexual ethic than the one you're proposing. You don't get to own the words "biblical" and just "christian," and especially "christian sexuality," over others who claim as such but don't conclude your perspective. Be more honest and say: "Evangelical/Biblicistic christianity." And just say, with integrity: "from an evangelical perspective," from a "literalistic & absolute perspective."
I think this is a thoughtful critique that honestly engages with the difficulty of the current conversation among Christian circles. You're right: our hermeneutic matters and is no the same thing as Scripture itself. I've watched about 6 of the videos, and while I believe that you are asking a fair question, I do believe that orthodox Christians would all agree with the underlying principle throughout the entire series: Jesus as Lord means that our bodies and sexuality are submitted to that Lordship. Yes, you're absolutely right that there are pastors, teachers, and scholars who come away from Scripture with a different understanding. Even still, I think we all agree on the same thing: Jesus is either Lord or all or not Lord at all. When I use this material, which is in line with my particular theological tradition (adjacent to, but not, evangelicalism) I will be pointing my students to the central concept: Jesus is Lord. Even if they read scripture differently, as long as they are following Jesus with their whole heart and life, that's what matters.
You mean a book that's been rewritten and retranslanted over 20 times throughout history, has had books taken out and added depending on the historical time period or religion its meant to fit into, and the version used most often today in most Christian denominations was rewritten by a misogynistic woman-hating homosexual king? Yeah I agree, THAT is really sad...

I feel like the speakers you have on here aren’t even on the same page with each other, which is ok, but your message becomes blurry.

So you watched the series?
What are the different sexual ethics between them?

Im so confused at this post but I really want to understand it. Can you please post another using much smaller words?
@@joelheald "orthodox Christians" sounds to me like, 'christians I agree with ' which is exactly what the critique was about
Have they actually read the bible? This is really sad.
