Trying to taunt Mike Tyson doesn't make you look tough, it makes you look foolish.
It’s crazy because it feels like Neilson won the fight by not being KO’d in the first 2 rounds, but in reality he held the whole fought and got a beat down. But he stayed up so u have to respect him.

Neilson just didn't have anywhere near the punching power Tyson has , those body shots have so much power behind them I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Neilson should have been awarded a balt for lasting so long, he deserves respect.

Neilson became pretty much a walking heavy bag from the outset! He didn’t seem to have any sort of effective plan to contain Mike and paid a heavy price for it.

Nielsen is really tough to take that kind of punishment for that many rounds. Nielsen didn't excessively clinch much either and refused to take the full time out for Tysons low blow. Serious old school Danish tough guy. Even Mike looks at 10:32 like 'Damn I can't knock you out".

I think Brian Nielsen would take the olympic bronze medal he won and he equaled Rocky Marciano's record of 49 successive wins with no losses and that he won a few belts from the lower federations for a badge for the rest of his life and he fought and beated a few great fighters trough out his career....getting beated by Tyson in the end of his career when he shouldnt had been in the ring is not one he would take as a badge

I remember watching that fight live on tv. That was quite a frustrating fight. Tyson was constantly disrupted in his boxing strategy. He had trouble laying his technique.
It was a damn good fight for both guys. Yes Tyson clearly was winning every round but to take that many big shots from Mike and not be KO give him respect.
This guy is slow as heck. Tyson gave him some of his best though, and he just kept coming back for more, so to his credit, that was amazing.

Wrong.....Sugar Ray Robinson, joe lewis, henry armstrong, Jack Dempsey, And Rocky Marciano were better. Rocky never lost....you can't say he was the best because of Diversity, Equity, and inclusion. Plus....Tyson had the advantage of modern Vido on his side. How many people take a few days off to watch old film of Robinson, Lewis, armstrong, Dempsey and Marciano? They are too busy and lazy to do the research. All the fighters mentioned above had way more amature fights than Tyson. Besides....Tyson was a Rapist. None of the other fighters mentioned were. Also throw in Lightweight Benny Leonard....better than Tyson....pound wise.
Mike is my all time favorite but respect to Nielsen for taking so many punches and staying in as long as he could. Many have crumbled to much less from Mike
Dude looked like he wanted to be somewhere else from the moment he stepped into the ring with Mike. Once he warmed up, he put up a good fight. Surprising.

I first saw Brian Nielsen, when he won the Danish Amateur Championships doing 'windmill'-swings with both arms - not even really trying to throw haymakers.
Later he was an Olympic Bronze Medallist.
He was ridiculed his entire career, for his (not yet at the time known as) 'fury' body style.
Also for not being a good boxer.
However, with the help of promotor Mogens Palle, he was able to collect an astounding number of fights AND victories, bringing him a world championship in a (very) lesser organization of the time: IBO. He was undefeated in 49 fights!
He met among others: Larry Holmes, Bonecrusher Smith, Tim Witherspoon, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. He lost three fights in his career spanning 67 fights.
The Holyfield fight was the last one - which he lost in the 10th round, after having not fought for nine years.
The Tyson fight was one of his easiest defeats. He had a very tight defense, so close to his body, that the human eye was not able to see the punches not landing, which would throw off the judges, who thought that Tyson landed.
Brian could be very entertaining.
And not many people can brag that they met Tyson and Holyfield and Larry Holmes.
The lack of head movement from Tyson is insane from his prime to here. He doesn’t even look like he wants to be there

This fight should’ve been stopped at 6:06 for health reasons. Mike clearly had won at that point. Mike was sending artillery blows to this guy’s liver. Just saying
