These women were speaking about how they no longer purchase authentic purses and have chosen to purchase really good *esluxs* of the designer bags that they do like. They then take that saved money and invest their money into other things such as real estate, stocks etc.
Good day everyone , i purchased a preloved lady dior and it looks authentic to me , havent gotten it authenticated yet . it is a vintage 2009 edition , question , is it true that the padded lamb skin leather under the dior metal letter charm says only christian dior in writing? Mine is christian dior paris and the stitching of the label inside is red , same color of the tag unlike what she mentioned in the video . pls help . thank you 🙏
Great video! I come across vintage and first edition bags all the time and they best way to try to compare them to photos online is by finding ones with similar date codes. But in this case you mentioned it didn’t have one. (It still baffles me that they ever didn’t have use them) What kind of leather is used for yours? Thanks for a nice vdo. Very difficult to get info on the vintage lady dior. I have the mini vintage one and got similar features (no feet no date code) as your video described, but got no "Made in Italy" on the back of "CD Paris" sign on the inside zipper. Is mine fake?
Hi! Thanks for watching! I don't know if that is definitely a sign of it not being authentic- it is harder to tell on the vintage bags. I would suggest using an authenticator just to help you get peace of mind. I like authenticate first if you are in the US or authenticate4u if you are in Europe (I am not sure of this best authenticators outside of these regions) but both are very inexpensive ($10) and you just need to send photos of the item. Hi! I would send some pictures to fashionphile, yoogi's closet, rebag, and bag borrow or steal and see if any of them will take it/who will offer the most! Just be sure to indicate it is the vintage model :) If none of them take it you can also try therealreal.

Okay! Mine does say christian Dior Paris (the Paris is quite small and below the Christian Dior). The O is on the same ring as the leather tab but the other letters are on their own ring. I hope that helps!

Hi I was looking for a video to help authenticate my bag that I just bought . It’s patent leather and holds its shape , the only things that’s weird is that the on the date code flap is Christian Dior Paris is gold . When I flip it over , at the bag it says Made in Italy with 2 letters and 4 numbers but only engraved and not in gold . Otherwise everything looks good .

Great info! Love vintage Dior and happy to see someone talking about it. Beautiful lady Dior! So classy. Someday I will hopefully be able to own one 🙏 so this is will be helpful as my budget will be more towards a vintage one. If you do ever send it to leather surgeons, do they also authenticate it for you? What do you think about the Lady Diors is patent leather? Definitely more dressy. Patent leather scares me but I have heard the Dior patent leather is extremely well made. What brand is the zipper (underneath) I think Dior uses their own (Says Christian Dior) this is what is own my vintage bags but could differ of course with age.
Thank you! Yes, leather surgeons will also authenticate. Fashionphile and some of the other sites actually do not charge much more for the more current version, so if you like that better it would probably be worth it! The Lady dior does not hold it's value as well as Chanel, LV, Hermes, etc. on the pre-loved market. I happened to get an even better deal than the one's I linked above, but I took the risk by not ordering from one of those sits. Luckily, it all worked out :) I don't personally like patent leather much on bags though I did have a patent leather wallet on chain from Dior years ago and it was very durable. Personally, I think lambskin feels more luxurious and is easier to repair, so it was definitely what I was interested in adding to my collection :) Thanks for watching!
@@Chicprofessor It’s very difficult to authenticate a bag with “Paris” that written on a leather charm as they were manufactured in Paris only for a super short time period in the 90s. That means the bag must be over 25 years old and one of the very first bags.. though is has the fake screws, or a super Rep. I tend to think it’s a top tier super Rep because it checks all the boxes.

Hey Jess turned out to be a great find I love the classic lady dior as I’ve gotten older I’ve really come to appreciate vintage and the older model bags in most designer today I have had both pre loved as well as brand new in my collection and a lot of changing around and I couldn’t figure out exactly why certain bags were not doing it for me and it dawned on me by the time I decided to start collecting again after a terrible thing happened to me ,quality had begun to decline and now I see it declining at a rapid pace I had 2 brand new speedyb25’s in my collection and I see everyone unboxing and loving them and there was something that wasn’t doing it for me ,1 was my decision to trade my side 30 bandouliere’s for the 25’s big mistake great for crossbody only problem was I don’t see speedys as crossbodies and I wasn’t wearing them that way after the first few times ,so now I was either crook of my arm or only shoulder carrying and this was where I found them to small for myself and my taste I also was starring and really looking at the new quality and I’m sorry to anyone who owns these bags to each their own but they felt extremely flimsy , thin canvas mismatched shiny and dull hardware I was not reaching for them I decided it was time to add bags I had always eyed but never added for whatever reason and I added the Trevi pm in DE and WOWWWW on the hardware , the canvas ,interior just all around a quality bag I love it I then added the Tivoli GM another gorgeous amazing quality hardware canvas interior bag I did get the Melie hobo for Christmas from my husband and that bag is made so well I was actually in shock I look at these 2 bags next to my Pochette Metis which spent half of the 10 months I owned it in repair and the quality there is just no comparison I bought my favorite mm pre loved thank goodness because I have friends still trying to find well made ones today with no issues ,Givenchy deserves more hype than it gets wow what a well made bag the antigona and Chanel I kept remembering the quality of my aunts vintage chanel and the jumbo wasn’t for me chanel is not for me I thought about dior but everything I see is mini I would want the lady dior for sure but not a fan of this mini trend so I’m in purse peace for now my petit noe I love your lady dior is beautiful I would choose the larger for myself took me some time to realize mini doesn’t work for me but your size seems to be the best of both worlds great video ! This is the medium size so perhaps if you decide you want one in the future you can get the large! It is a nice size but a bit too big for me. Chicprofessor oh and yes just know I tend to write novels as comments but yes Luxmommy just purchased the large size and if I were to ever go Dior it would be a lady dior for sure and I would prefer the large I also would love the classic black with gold hardware and I believe it has a red interior however the price point is the reason I haven’t pulled the trigger I would most likely buy it pre loved my other issue is that I have 3 black leather bags already I am thinking the large lady dior in a different color and I’m not sure just yet so I’m waiting for sure!

I’m not sure if you read the blog Mutt Flapper? Probably, but if not she has a lot of fantastic and super interesting advice on authenticating vintage high end bags. The kind of authentication guides that literally no one else writes-the irregularities of the Chanel CC turlock over the years, brands whose authentic-heat stamps tend to run sloppy, etc. Also really great side by side comparison photos to help weed out(even realllly good)superfakes. I feel like you probably are aware of this blog, but if not it makes great reading!

There is the invoice with it and the lady told me that she bought it in 1997 in Christian Dior boutique in Paris. You can fix the structure yourself if you want to spend the time , look on youtube, you can create cardboard stuffing to store it when you don't use it and also heat it to fix the exterior and make it stand up more ....leather conidtioners and color polishes can touch it up for much less than 300.
Hi! The vintage ones (first edition and a few more subsequent editions) do have Paris. Some newer versions do not and a few years of them also had Made In Italy written under Christian Dior Paris so it all depends on what year it was made. I hope that helps!

I was trying to get information on the lack of feet and some other features and had trouble finding it until I found this video so thank you! I will need to find a fun strap to use with it.
Hello: I literally just got my first pre-loved Lady Dior in black with shw. I too thought the tag inside looked kind of cheap and thought they should have done something similar to the main pull on the inside of the purse. Other than that, I love the purse and think it's such a feminine, classic purse to own.
😱 I just got one in Poshmark but in nylon. It’s great condition inside and feels cheap to me like u say 😵💫 Also mine doesn’t have date code behind the leather tab. So was it real?? 😅 5 years later lol

You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful. I always think it is still a good idea to get it professionally authenticated and you can use companies like authenticate first and send in photos for them to use to authenticate for only $10.
It does help but the weight of the hardware on the top means that some sagging is inevitable. I have another video about a DIY I did with cardboard that helped with the shape.

Hi! The first edition are free floating and I know that bags in the early 2000's had them attached but I am not exactly sure when the change took place- sorry!
Ebay doesn't know how to AUTHENTICATE designer handbags. ....thanks for this video we need to all share our stories and ideas.....yes I also bought a Gucci purse and it was slightly different but was a real Gucci.
I appreciate you giving us this information. I learned some things today. However, I feel like you’re not very excited about it. Like it’s a placeholder until you can get a newer one. Between the fact that the differences make it look fake instead of vintage, the wear in the corners and the floppiness of it because it has lost shape, I wouldn’t be excited about it either. ☹️ I just would hate for you to settle and regret it.
I definitely haven't settled and I agree I was thinking about it a bit like a placeholder in the beginning (I especially missed the feet on the bottom that the newer ones have) but once I started using it I started loving it! I think the lambskin is so luxurious and I love that it was one of the first editions (the one Lady Diana actually wore!). I did a video with a diy structure adding idea and that's made a big difference as well. I will eventually send it to leather surgeons and have them add in structure and fix up the corners professionally but for now I'm loving it as it is and not looking to replace. Thanks for watching!
Chicprofessor watching thus video because I am looking for tips on how to self repair corners that lost its shape. My lambskin Dior bag is only four months old with very little use and the corners are indented. I’ve tried stuffing the bag and leaving it alone for a few weeks. Any suggestions anyone has to offer is appreciated. Not sure I want to pay to refurbish it when it’s just four months old.
Is it new or did you buy it pre-loved? If it's new they should fix it for you. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how else to help besides stuffing it! I did a video on adding some shape back into mine with a cardboard structure on the interior but I'm not sure how much help it would be for the corners.
@@Chicprofessor you could try with locking the strap in front of the handle instead of behind handle, the strap makes the handles stand also for the new lady dior bag, handle can barely stand themselves.

Both of those are consistent with newer bags which 2009 falls into 😀

Hi! The first edition does not have a code but some later editions which could still be considered vintage do!
Even though I am finding a hard time finding one for the nylon small version, this was very helpful. I too think it’s a series one then. Wish there was more info online comparing all versions.

Okay! Mine does say christian Dior Paris (the Paris is quite small and below the Christian Dior). The O is on the same ring as the leather tab but the other letters are on their own ring. I hope that helps!

Hi I was looking for a video to help authenticate my bag that I just bought . It’s patent leather and holds its shape , the only things that’s weird is that the on the date code flap is Christian Dior Paris is gold . When I flip it over , at the bag it says Made in Italy with 2 letters and 4 numbers but only engraved and not in gold . Otherwise everything looks good .

Great info! Love vintage Dior and happy to see someone talking about it. Beautiful lady Dior! So classy. Someday I will hopefully be able to own one 🙏 so this is will be helpful as my budget will be more towards a vintage one. If you do ever send it to leather surgeons, do they also authenticate it for you? What do you think about the Lady Diors is patent leather? Definitely more dressy. Patent leather scares me but I have heard the Dior patent leather is extremely well made.
What brand is the zipper (underneath) I think Dior uses their own (Says Christian Dior) this is what is own my vintage bags but could differ of course with age.
Thank you! Yes, leather surgeons will also authenticate. Fashionphile and some of the other sites actually do not charge much more for the more current version, so if you like that better it would probably be worth it! The Lady dior does not hold it's value as well as Chanel, LV, Hermes, etc. on the pre-loved market. I happened to get an even better deal than the one's I linked above, but I took the risk by not ordering from one of those sits. Luckily, it all worked out :) I don't personally like patent leather much on bags though I did have a patent leather wallet on chain from Dior years ago and it was very durable. Personally, I think lambskin feels more luxurious and is easier to repair, so it was definitely what I was interested in adding to my collection :) Thanks for watching!

@@Chicprofessor It’s very difficult to authenticate a bag with “Paris” that written on a leather charm as they were manufactured in Paris only for a super short time period in the 90s. That means the bag must be over 25 years old and one of the very first bags.. though is has the fake screws, or a super Rep. I tend to think it’s a top tier super Rep because it checks all the boxes.

You have the strap attached on the backside of the handle loop - if you attached it on the other side it will keep the handles from falling down.

Hey Jess turned out to be a great find I love the classic lady dior as I’ve gotten older I’ve really come to appreciate vintage and the older model bags in most designer today I have had both pre loved as well as brand new in my collection and a lot of changing around and I couldn’t figure out exactly why certain bags were not doing it for me and it dawned on me by the time I decided to start collecting again after a terrible thing happened to me ,quality had begun to decline and now I see it declining at a rapid pace I had 2 brand new speedyb25’s in my collection and I see everyone unboxing and loving them and there was something that wasn’t doing it for me ,1 was my decision to trade my side 30 bandouliere’s for the 25’s big mistake great for crossbody only problem was I don’t see speedys as crossbodies and I wasn’t wearing them that way after the first few times ,so now I was either crook of my arm or only shoulder carrying and this was where I found them to small for myself and my taste I also was starring and really looking at the new quality and I’m sorry to anyone who owns these bags to each their own but they felt extremely flimsy , thin canvas mismatched shiny and dull hardware I was not reaching for them I decided it was time to add bags I had always eyed but never added for whatever reason and I added the Trevi pm in DE and WOWWWW on the hardware , the canvas ,interior just all around a quality bag I love it I then added the Tivoli GM another gorgeous amazing quality hardware canvas interior bag I did get the Melie hobo for Christmas from my husband and that bag is made so well I was actually in shock I look at these 2 bags next to my Pochette Metis which spent half of the 10 months I owned it in repair and the quality there is just no comparison I bought my favorite mm pre loved thank goodness because I have friends still trying to find well made ones today with no issues ,Givenchy deserves more hype than it gets wow what a well made bag the antigona and Chanel I kept remembering the quality of my aunts vintage chanel and the jumbo wasn’t for me chanel is not for me I thought about dior but everything I see is mini I would want the lady dior for sure but not a fan of this mini trend so I’m in purse peace for now my petit noe I love your lady dior is beautiful I would choose the larger for myself took me some time to realize mini doesn’t work for me but your size seems to be the best of both worlds great video ! Chicprofessor oh and yes just know I tend to write novels as comments but yes Luxmommy just purchased the large size and if I were to ever go Dior it would be a lady dior for sure and I would prefer the large I also would love the classic black with gold hardware and I believe it has a red interior however the price point is the reason I haven’t pulled the trigger I would most likely buy it pre loved my other issue is that I have 3 black leather bags already I am thinking the large lady dior in a different color and I’m not sure just yet so I’m waiting for sure!

I’m not sure if you read the blog Mutt Flapper? Probably, but if not she has a lot of fantastic and super interesting advice on authenticating vintage high end bags. The kind of authentication guides that literally no one else writes-the irregularities of the Chanel CC turlock over the years, brands whose authentic-heat stamps tend to run sloppy, etc. Also really great side by side comparison photos to help weed out(even realllly good)superfakes.

There is the invoice with it and the lady told me that she bought it in 1997 in Christian Dior boutique in Paris. You can fix the structure yourself if you want to spend the time , look on youtube, you can create cardboard stuffing to store it when you don't use it and also heat it to fix the exterior and make it stand up more ....leather conidtioners and color polishes can touch it up for much less than 300.
I actually did a video on the cardboard! While I haven’t heated it it has gotten much better over time.

Hi another video states that the leather patch behind the letter O should say Christian Dior but not "paris" as seen on yours.
Hi! The vintage ones (first edition and a few more subsequent editions) do have Paris. Some newer versions do not and a few years of them also had Made In Italy written under Christian Dior Paris so it all depends on what year it was made. I hope that helps!

Edgar Karam no receipt is not necessarily an indicator of it being fake. I would send pictures to a professional authenticator.

I was trying to get information on the lack of feet and some other features and had trouble finding it until I found this video so thank you! I will need to find a fun strap to use with it.

Hello: I literally just got my first pre-loved Lady Dior in black with shw. I too thought the tag inside looked kind of cheap and thought they should have done something similar to the main pull on the inside of the purse. Other than that, I love the purse and think it's such a feminine, classic purse to own.

It does help but the weight of the hardware on the top means that some sagging is inevitable. I have another video about a DIY I did with cardboard that helped with the shape.

Hi! The first edition are free floating and I know that bags in the early 2000's had them attached but I am not exactly sure when the change took place- sorry!

Ebay doesn't know how to AUTHENTICATE designer handbags. ....thanks for this video we need to all share our stories and ideas.....yes I also bought a Gucci purse and it was slightly different but was a real Gucci.

I appreciate you giving us this information. I learned some things today. However, I feel like you’re not very excited about it. Like it’s a placeholder until you can get a newer one. Between the fact that the differences make it look fake instead of vintage, the wear in the corners and the floppiness of it because it has lost shape, I wouldn’t be excited about it either. ☹️ I just would hate for you to settle and regret it.
I definitely haven't settled and I agree I was thinking about it a bit like a placeholder in the beginning (I especially missed the feet on the bottom that the newer ones have) but once I started using it I started loving it! I think the lambskin is so luxurious and I love that it was one of the first editions (the one Lady Diana actually wore!). I did a video with a diy structure adding idea and that's made a big difference as well. I will eventually send it to leather surgeons and have them add in structure and fix up the corners professionally but for now I'm loving it as it is and not looking to replace. Thanks for watching!

Chicprofessor watching thus video because I am looking for tips on how to self repair corners that lost its shape. My lambskin Dior bag is only four months old with very little use and the corners are indented. I’ve tried stuffing the bag and leaving it alone for a few weeks. Any suggestions anyone has to offer is appreciated. Not sure I want to pay to refurbish it when it’s just four months old.
Is it new or did you buy it pre-loved? If it's new they should fix it for you. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how else to help besides stuffing it! I did a video on adding some shape back into mine with a cardboard structure on the interior but I'm not sure how much help it would be for the corners.

when you wear with the strap, the official right way is to wear it with handles up, so the charms are shown.
Yes, that makes sense! However, since this is a first edition the handles are not stiff like the newer ones and don't stay up.
@@Chicprofessor you could try with locking the strap in front of the handle instead of behind handle, the strap makes the handles stand also for the new lady dior bag, handle can barely stand themselves.
