That’s why Milei campaigned with a chainsaw, saying he would cut the size and power of government.
In the United States, attempts to shrink government haven’t gone far, but in Argentina, Milei won by a massive 3 million votes.
In just the first month of his presidency, Milei repealed rent and price controls and eliminated trade restrictions.
Daniel Di Martino, founder of www.dissidentproject.org, who escaped Venezuela and became an economist in America, says it’s impressive that Milei won by promising massive cuts.
The video above covers a little of what Milei has rapidly accomplished.
People in media that so emphatically say that Milei will fail, forget to mention the elephant in the room: The Argentine left and their politics have failed and have failed ugly.

"When you become rich, and then you think money grows on trees, then you forget why you became rich" absolutely amazing quote right there
Brilliantly said. Look at the Germany and the EU.
Unfortunately, the Dollar is going to go through serious inflation as well because of the Democrats and the extremely corrupt and irresponsible Congress.
Something politicians in Congress chose to forget. They spend more and more money and then blame others for the resulting inflation and societal decline.
If you always provide for people on welfare they never have an incentive to work. It is far better to teach people useful skills so they can earn their own income.
right. teach them how to fish and you help them for life.@@stefan6412
I thought that was common sense. I've heard it many times
I congratulate Argentina, wish we would have the like-minded politicians in power in Europe.
of course you do, he will sell argentina cheap to investment funds
@@savageseb Better to let it in the hands of a small socialist aristocratic elite, huh? Maybe you can suck then and be part of their leech-system, is that what you dream with?
You can thank the Left/socialists for the "cheap" part. If things are sold cheap in Argentina you can thank them for ruining the currency value for the last 3 decades, and making the laws that expelled companies out of the country, ruined the economy and razed prices to the ground.
you fail at living. grow iq.
Why and where in Europe? In general, i don’t really see any demand or necessity for libertarianism in most european countries, to the extent of libertarians having substantial political power.
@@lampard98jr Probably not what you meant but yeah, I kinda understand why eurabians aren't going to embrace libertarianism anytime soon. First, it's a matter of ethics/morals, something euros lack, like every one else. Plus the euro major import - immigrants from fked up countries, will benefit greatly from leeching the stupid native population. So everyone's happy with the current situation. Also, the Left in europe doesn't do crazy economic mess and public services works on a satisfactory level. Not because they're "nice socialists" or something but the more educated euro population won't accept as much BS as, say, Latrine Americans do.
And you have money. Everyone knows socialisms lasts as long other people's money last. So it's all a matter of time. Time for the school indoctrination make population dumber, time for the kebabs to replace the native population, time for other people's money to end, which is inevitable in a system that rewards the leechers and punish the productives. And then, when Eurabia reach Venezuela/Argentinean levels of socialist BS people maybe, maybe will react and embrace libertarianism, that is, if there will be someone else left there that isn't worried in beating women for not wearing a hijab.
Recession is often the result of external factors, and it appears that the United States is losing its grip as a federal reserve currency.
With a decreasing ability to control inflation and a reduction in stock and oil trading, it seems that a new multilateral world order is on the horizon
It's a fact that recessions are a natural occurrence in the economic cycle, and the best approach is to ensure you're ready for them and have a proper plan in place.
Every day, we face a new challenge. It has become the new normal. We felt it was a catastrophe at first, but now we know it's a new normal to which we must adjust.
This year will be a year of great economic suffering across the country. What initiatives can we take to earn additional revenue during the period of quantitative adjustment?
More reason I enjoy my day to day market decisions is that i'm being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to
That's something I've been considering. I have a lot of stocks that I've kept, but they're starting to lose value, so I'm not sure if I should keep them or sell them. Hiring your investment coach would make it much easier for me to rebuild my portfolio.

Wow this man is sharp as a whip. Im excited to see changes in Argentina!
John Stossel has managed to survive the liberal media machine. It's so great that we still have him.
John is calm and reserved. If he singled out people and attacked, shouted, and pounded his fist, the Left would try every Marxist trick in the book to bring him down.
How does he do it ?
Easy. He's willing to learn and grow as a person. That is what people do. A view you may have 20 years ago will change as times change. He's never faulted from the views he believes even if he's not necessarily right. Well, he'll sit there and listen to that. Other opinion he doesn't call nobody nothing. He asked the questions that everybody wants to know and if you go watch his old news reporting, you can tell he actually generally enjoys what he does. It's not about making money for him like it is for someone like Brian stelzer or Tucker Carlson those guys are in this f****** job for money. He's in this to actually spread information. Why do you think he's not on any mainstream media anymore?
And Tucker survived the neocon media machine. Like em both

I never understood the logic on price control.
Government: "Hey you can only charge five dollars for that product"
Private business: "Okay, but it cost six dollars to produce..."
Government: "You'll find a way."
*A few months later*
Government: "Why are all these businesses going under!?"
Its funny, every year that minimum wage goes up, there just happens to be more robots at restaurant trade shows.
Price controls are one of the latter stage of socialist collapse.
Min wage hasn't gone up federally in decades. It should be 25 -50 an hr based on inflation . Why are you okay with wage theft and inflation but not workers getting fair pay? Why are you defending souless corporations that bought the gov to make it the banana Republic we have now.
I think the logical argument goes like this: demand is inelastic because this is important and people will have to accept whatever is charged. The price then is set by supply. After some horrible mental math by people who don’t know anything “but it should only cost $2! That’s what it used to cost in my grandpas day!” The only reason it costs $5 is because of “corporate greed” whatever that means. So they then set the price to $3 thinking it will just be taken out if corporate profits but the total number of transactions will remain the same.
Of course that only really makes sense for the minimum about of water (in most countries) where you have a monopoly on a critical resource that people can’t really adjust their intake or source.
Really, the argument goes like this: Ugg, things are expensive! I feel poor while I see people that seem rich! They (the bourgeoisie, the Jews, foreign interests) are “stealing” from the economy and we must take back by force!
Most politicians are illiterate about basic economic concepts. Most voters are also illiterate about economic concepts. Politicians grift and pander. Voters love to hear what they want to hear. It's idiocy, but it's reality.
The funniest one I think was when he eliminated rent control and rent prices immediately dropped 20%
Also the amount of places to rent nearly doubled , you remove bullshit laws and now all of sudden you have more options and at cheaper prices ? I never would have thought about that 😂
Wow..
and the offer of places to rent just increased 60% in a fricking day, a historical record in argentina
You are fucking lying. Prices are higher than ever in everything you can buy, from foods to gas up to the rent.
Now owners even want usd instead of pesos... It's fucking unpayable. Lots of people getting evicted as we speak... But you guys live in a fish bowl. Milei already failed the people, but he haven't failed his corporate owners.
It’s called a free market! Add competition and prices go down! Supply and demand! Trump press Vivek Ramaswamy VP
I was skeptical until I heard his dogs were named after famous economists
He really love dogs. Right after pandemic Milei went quietly visiting dogs shelter in need. He spent time sitting with each dog and donated some money.
Great video! Argentina is still going through a pivotal transition. The situation is dire but Milei is showing no signs of weakness by focusing on long term economic stability. 57% live below poverty line. He inherited a country at 50%! So it shows there’s still so much to do to start seeing improvement. Corruption and reckless spending are being exposed right now. Governors and Senators aren’t really helping. The opposition is strong and is working with corrupt union leaders to sabotage progress. The vast majority of Argentinians though are WITH Milei. That’s huge! They support this change and understand it’s needed.
He has no power and his days are counted.

@vsevoloda.2615 Regardless of the present economic situation, which is not his fault, I still say it is much better to have a leader who does not divide and conquer the people with a ham-fisted dictatorial hand. I'm Argentine, I've lived here for all my 57 years and, like many other Argentines, I've been waiting for a project that would return us to the origins of our Republic and its National Constitution from 1853 since the return of democracy.
I lived the horrors of internal t3rrorism and those of the dict4torship, and then the havoc caused by the same party that began the depending of the debacle in 1946 and that governed us for 30 of the 40 years in this democracy. I'm not going to cite all the criminal acts commited by tem (you can see some samples of it in the Argentune Legal Information System), but they've subjected us, those who work hard, pay our taxes, are decent and never ask for any subsidy to inmense and constant sacrifices, only to leave us in general ruin. I voted very aware of the hard stage that would come because I always knew that a total transformation was necessary and that one cannot get out of such devastation without tightening one' belt, wich our President warned so many times. Adrede to that, the opposition is doing it did in every democratic era with a President who weren't one of their own: causing profound chais to prevent any progress, without either the forces and/or the justice making them comply with what has always said our National Constitution and the Procedural and Penal Code, compling with the law. There are millions of us who are going to defend what we chose, those who aren't happy are those who accostumed to "daddy state" telling them that it'll solve " "heir their issues, those who live off benefits (great "benefits") not well earned or deserved, and people who omly want a "magical" solution, inmediate and painless, forgetting all the pain that has already happened, perhaps without thinking about an opportunity to recover the value of work, personal effort, dignity, a society where crime, a society where crime doesn't rule the streets and public offices, and that perhaps will rebuild itsef again.
Daniel Di Martino, Thank you for your opinion, because the USA does not understand what Socialism is, the prelude to communism. President Milei is doing good for his country. Long Live Democracy

I love Strossel
That's a lot of wisdom packed into 7 minutes.
This is really exciting to see. As a life long student of economics, it was sad to see Argentina fall away from the ideas which made it a great and prosperous country. Here's hoping for their success.
Very good 👍💯☺️😊😌 Argentina more power to you all 🙏 may God bless you all 🙏💝 smart 🤓 move... Great leadership....
I’m so happy for the Argentinians. I pray for nothing but success!
Now if we can bring this type of movement world wide…wouldn’t it be marvelous? 😀
we need more people like this. he's smart, he has passion, he has soul, he cares about the people, everything most politicians lack.
I hope he succeeds in all of his endeavors.
youre bad at judging anything and are heavily deluded.
No experience no economic team? Ok then he can find and hire a team. The ones that screwed up the monetary system had plenty of political experience.
Who even needs a team? Just shut down these bullcrap agencies. No team necessary. That's the beauty of small government.
the man is an economist. and is right more times than anyone else. that is a dangerous combo.
He wrote 9 books or more!!! And his economic team is doing magic right now. Inflation is going down, almost stoped, prices are stable and someones go down. A+++
Muy bueno, visto desde afuera, como debe ser. 💪🏻 👍🏻. Saludos desde Buenos Aires 🇦🇷
"Long Live Freedom, Dammit!"
Classic!
Fun fact, there is a saying by Milei about those government regulated imports, the national companies that benefit from them "Like hunting in the zoo, where the prey (us) can't do anything"
Example:
- Toys => To defend companies that literally make awful plastic crap as it was the DDR the price of Lego sets are >10 times more expensive as USA/EU
- Cars => Very few models to pick from and those that are available cost at leas twice as it's counter part in countries like Chile
- Clothing => Same thing as above but even more expensive and compared to the US/EU
My hobby is 100% imported (Fountain pens) and I need to follow the next regulations to import:
- No more than 3 units of the same product (Example: 4 boxes of 1 USD ink cartridges? Not allowed)
- You must pay 7 taxes that account anything from 50% to 100% of the product and delivery costs
- You are not told the amount to pay until it arrives at your door
Imagine that but for anything made outside the country, all to protect corporations allied with the government, no wonder Milei won
I hope some of these awful taxes are removed so that i can buy my gundam models Kits without too much issues , seriously , i'm paying anywhere from 3-4 times the price for a Zaku , and guess what , the only Companies in Argentina that does models kits , are very basic ones (literally only 3 points where it articulates)
Perder o perder
You have that much red tape for pens?? Omg
@@saltymonke3682 Not only for pens, that's the reason why anything imported is pretty much considered a luxury
Imagine that you have a small business and a machine brokes down, if you need to import a replacement part or a new machine... you are in for quite the funny and expensive trip

Excellent video, we support President Milei! The leeches of politics will succumb!
Vivia la Argentina Y Millei! ❤ mans a legend
3:14 I can't help but to think that most of the US and Europe are where Argentina was 100 years ago and heading in the same direction.
Some are speeding up
As an Argentinian I confirm everything in this video is 100% accurate. Also I’ve never seen a Latin American look and behave like an actor in a 90's TV commercial, genuinely impressive!
Thank you for spreading the word!
Argentine
Milei is a genius
Acting like an actor in a 90’s TV ad is a good thing? I was in the 90’s and thought god what asshole are they trying to portray?

Well done, Mr. Stossel, as usual.

Hey can we borrow him for a bit
Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed.
Cutting spending is not risky. It'll only anger the freeloaders.
I hope he does well for the people of Argentina
We need nightly segments on Argentina on all major network news outlets. One can dream, right?
I hope the people of Argentina prosper. May they lead the way of free market capitalism and individual liberty! Godspeed!
Free market capitalism and individual liberty are two different things. Stop reading labels.
