    Just wanted to give you a thanks for the build video. I built this plane yesterday and was really helped by your demo of how to get the battery pack in. I only have 40000mah 6s 60 c batteries, so I had to push back the junction box, just like you demonstrated. With all the wires pushed back the battery slips in (just) and the cog is fine. Must say that this plane is very easy to build in terms of screwing together, but all the connectors are a real fiddle due to lack of space to push them back into the body. Both the wings connectors and the elevators. The big advantage of watching you, is that when I had to do it I knew firstly that it was not just my plane, and secondly that it could be done. Also if anyone else reads this, I did have to cut some foam out of the canopy to get my receiver in position. Once again...the long video really was usefull. Andy in uk.

    Dam I need that plane. Thanks Brian and Megan! Iv been patiently (somewhat) waiting for this review! Seems like the yak130 is a good value. It's priced barely cheaper than some other non scale jets but the scale details put it ahead of the game for me. Plus it looks so sharp, and the landing gear looks stout. It sucks that 6s equipment is so expensive. Once I get a charger and batteries I'm buying that thing! Hopefully it won't go out of stock or have a crazy price increase. Cuz I'd buy it now if I didn't need a 6s charger asap. If you wanted to really out do yourself, a comparison video of the freewing would be cool. My mind is already made up but I had to think about it. Awesome!! You guys are the best in the game!👍👍

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому +1

      6S is the difference between a slow and boring EDF jet, and an AMAZING, THRILLING EDF experience.
      You will have to eventually take the plunge. I know it sucks, but 6S is where it's at.
      If you want to save money, get a Gen1 SMART pack and then just charge it on a DUMB charger?

    • @jakeclauson9863
      @jakeclauson9863 2 роки тому

      @BrianPhillipsRC yea I was thinking of getting some cheaper equipment. But as much I don't want to spend a lot I feel like cheap isn't a good way to go. If I get cheap batteries and charger and something happens.. id be better off spending it now then having to replace burnt up planes or God forbid my house! Iv been keeping an eye on the 2nd hand market which seems to be an OK option as long as im smart about it. I'll have a 6s fleet one way or another! But you better believe when I get a yak, its going to be new and paid for thru your link! Thanks guys stay awesome!

    AR8360T vs AR637T, only $15 dollar difference between the 8ch and 6ch. If money was not a factor which would you purchase?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому

      The size of the AR8360T is also a factor in some installations. This plane, in particular MIGHT need a smaller Rx...BUT I agree, for $15 - you'll have an Rx you can plop into a more advanced plane.
      That being said, if MONEY was an object, I'd suggest getting the AR630 or AR631 in this plane. It's a lot cheaper than the AR637T, but all the features I want, with the exception a pack voltage...which would be no issue if you got an Avian ESC and grabbed a GREAT feature - reverse thrust.
      I just LOVE reverse thrust in EDF's - it's so much fun!

    Fantastic flying loved it!!! I got one of these from a buddy but first flight wasn't so great unfortunately. Full flaps and turn for final got really slow and tipped stalled. Do you usually deploy flaps when lined up for landing or before....and keep speed up? Thanks

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому +1

      When you're getting into your "BASE LEG" turn, which is where you come into final, you have to make sure you keep the wing flying. It's hard on these jets, since they stall with little to no warning, but just think like this...keep in your speed, and then USE the turn to bleed off speed AND to keep Positive G's...so pull UP on the elevator to make sure you're actually "flying" into the turn...you have to really COORDINATE your turn. Use rudder to keep your NOSE DOWN....
      YES, you heard that right...keep your nose down, while pulling up on the elevator ;)
      ...do it and do it at a few mistakes high, and remember, it's all about practice. I fly in tight quarters, and most pilots don't understand how much harder that really is...so I'm very well used to making low level base leg turns, and I'm also very used crashing a lot too - LOL

      Even with AR630 or AR631 - Amazing price for a 6S jet.
      If you put in the AR637T you get better telemetry, but it's what maybe 5-10% more on the plane...might be worth it with an EDF...BUT once you know how long you can fly, you can just stick with the AR631 or AR630 and be perfectly fine, in my opinion.

      Just pull down the heat shrink on the power connector, and solder them on. It's a bit more work, but you can do it.

      *They* aren't raising the price...shipping cost, global shortages due to political insanity - that's what's raising the prices.

    Yes! Been waiting for this one! How does the top speed of this compare to the e flite A-10 in your opinion? Seems like it’s a little better at slow speed handling too, if I’m not mistaken. I may go for the Freewing Vulcan 70mm as my first EDF, this one looks a little tricky/tippy on landings, despite how easy everyone else says it is! That’s why I rely on you man 😁

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому +2

      A-10 is faster, but both are excellent.
      A-10 is better, but also more expensive all in. A-10 has thrust reverse, but it's NEEDED for our application. A-10 better ordinance and scale details by a fair amount...

    ok, a silly question. I just setup as3x and safe on a new ar637t (o=off, 1=as3x, 2=as3x/safe) and everything seems to work fine except when I test the as3x setting movements (switch position 1) by moving the craft certain ways to see how the control surfaces work, there are no movements when the rotating gain knob is in the low position. I have as3x active in safe as well (Switch position 2) and surfaces do move with the same gain knob setting. When I rotate the gain knob to 50%, things are ok at switch position 1 ( I see movement). The gain settings are default, so I am wondering why I see movements with one switch position but not the other.

    My first FMS. Wasn’t impressed with the foam, the wiring sucked, and I guess the designer’s don’t fly, or they would’ve thought about the placement of a receiver. I just copied everything you did. Flew great, piece a cake to land with a 10-20 mph wind.
