Perhaps opine on how a pencil makes writing such a rich experience compared to typing, and then make a pilgrimage to stand next to the memorial to Conrad Gessner, who first documented the existence of pencils...... As a biker I've had enough stones hit my helmet to know not to drive that thing without a helmet... A small stone in the eye at anything over 40mph will likely cost you your sight.
@@HyperVanilo if they are made of Polycarbonate or similar plastic material they will this is the same material they make safety glasses out of. If they are glass then probably not although almost no one uses glass for lenses anymore.
The lenses would pop out and fly into his eye from even a small pebble. Also, since the glasses don't wrap around to the side of his eyes, it would also leave them vulnerable to damage that way. I wear better glasses on my bicycle. I don't go 100mph on my bicycle.
I don't f get it why BBC have to have a manhunt going on for months to find Top Gear twats, when UK have car channels like this that have genuine car nerds who also works great in front of the camera.

I did ten laps in a supercharged atom at Palmer race school. I believe I managed one lap without spinning at least once. Most bonkers car I’ve ever been in, loved it.
@@topspeederalmond It's two things mostly: power and lift-off oversteer. Engine and drivetrain power delivery is so immediate in response to throttle changes that you can easily break rear wheel traction by giving it too much throttle or lifting off the throttle very abruptly.

I'd love to see how these changes (Wider tires, Altered suspension geometry, Reduced squat & dive, New tires, "Carbon Fiber Wheels", Turbo Charging/Drastically increased torque, Lower Center of gravity etc) add up on the Track compared to a Atom 3.5 (or Atom 3.5R w/manual transmission)
Blessed & Highly Favored why "carbon fiber wheels"? It's technology that exists. You can see in the shot of the wheel, as Henry mentions it in the video, that they're carbon. You can see the weave.

They must REALLY make a difference in a car that weighs so little to begin with... All those changes as a whole should make quite a pronounced improvement over the Atom 3.5 (perhaps even the Manual version of the 3.5R)

Brilliant video. It's the first one out there of the new Atom. After all the excellent magazine reviews I was looking to hear and see it in action. I placed an order way back in July on day of launch. Very excited but have to wait till next year to be united with my own Atom. I will order on with front and rear wings - got to have the complete look for such a beast.

Wow. I was literally about to type "that sounds JUST like my civic type R" and in seconds he says that the engine is from a civic type R. Well that explains it.
I've been in love with the Atom and desperately wanting one, ever since the first one appeared. I think I want it now more than ever. The one thing I would complain about is the blowoff valve dumping to atmosphere. I'd much prefer a recirculating diverter valve. I just associate that "whoosh" sound with unnecessarily lost boost and then turbo lag.

Top Gear is too often more about the presenters rather than the cars. Carfection has the balance just right.

They made the s2000 that never worked, nothing since, and nothing prior in my lifetime. There was the NSX, but it was really slow and also didn't run.
