About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Bowie is one of the greatest artists of all time. Thank you Tony for also producing one of my all time favorite bands, Sparks. :)
agreed!
Ditto. 🎄
Yep, it's nice knowing Visconti has worked with my favorite musicians...
Bowie sneaked wonderfully and for forever into my heart with Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), I was 8 at the time.
When I was 10 I heard a song that enthralled me completely, almost a year passed till I found out the name of the group was Sparks, and the song was Hospitality On Parade. Indiscreet remains my favorite album of theirs.
I absolutely Love David Bowie, and I am very very very very fond of the Mael brothers! :)
yaaaaasssss
And T Rex. I love the sound of old T Rex.
Que grande Tony aun se emociona al escuchar a Bowie :,)
A work of art ✨
Loved it... Love it
He doesn't explain what that noise is that sound like a car trying to start with a flat battery. Anyone knows?
Bowie had the greatest vibrato, that guy could sing like no one else! His vocals on the “Diamond Dogs” album, for instance, are astounding! His greatest vocal work in my opinion. “Sweet Thing” is a work of genius!
To be fair, Bowie admitted himself there was lots of editing to make Sweet Thing sound so good, but you're correct. His vibrato was amazing.
Element There wasn’t a lot of editing, he just slowed it down a little bit at the start! The rest is him singing straight.
@@jcselement thats not true lol. There are several live Performances where he nails the vocals.
I LOVE Sweet Thing, and he sounds amazing doing it.
Sweet Thing was Bowie's favourite of his own songs as well!
Oh, my, seeing and hearing Tony hear this made me emotional.
In re: the kick drum and general funkiness, that is certainly what I've observed when playing the song with my bandmates. The "Heeeeeere am I..." parts are quite tricky rhythmically.
Well, I love you Tony Visconti. Not just the production genius, but also the love and respect you have of the music. The wonderful piece you did on Dennis Davis' drumming on 'Look Back in Anger', the way you brought out the T.Rex sound out and then all the gorgeous, never-to-be-forgotten Bowie stuff. Just quite beautiful. Thank you.
I'm getting emotional...
I think I'm one of the few who likes the stripped back 1979 re-recorded version more than the original.
i still prefer the original but i also love the 1979 version as well.
I’m with you there man. It’s so much darker.
I love the 79 version a lot! I do prefer the original, however. Now, last year, I would've said different lol
I love you, Tony Visconti. I don't mean that in a weird, fan-stalk way. But the love, care, wonder you have for this music - and what you put into it - is amazing. Thanks for all the Bowie stuff and the re-mixes. And let's not forget how you helped shape that wonderful T.Rex sound out of Marc's vision. A million thank yous x
We are all so thankful to you Tony for bringing out the best in David's work. For being able to relate these amazing stories to us and for relaying this wonderful technology. It's bringing another layer of depth of his songs. I agree that hearing his isolated vocal made me feel emotional too. And that David would have loved this. He was always ahead of the curve. Of course you knew him personally, but it still touches the heart. I found myself almost tearing up. We will miss you forever, Starman.
This is great, he knows David so well. He must miss him so...
Tony Visconti’s bass playing on “The Man Who Sold The World” is what got me into the bass! Trevor Bolder was amazing, but Visconti was even better! It’s some of the most off-the-wall, kick ass rock playing ever!!
his bass work on "Black Country Rock" always gives me chills
oh man i would LOVE to hear a 2019 mix of man who sold the world
I agree that the Visconti rocks but the elusive Geo. Murray is the guy who sent many of my generation including John Taylor on a sacred quest. Like the earlier Henry Grimes, Murray was recently located in SoCal in Long Beach where he teaches painting. Dave woulda liked that. #zeit
Wild bass playing on width of a circle and all the madmen.
Of course he would have loved 360, he seemed to always be ahead of his time in a lot of different areas 🎶💜🎶
THX Tony for being a loyal mate during his whole Life! You are a good musician and a great producer!
Ground control to Major tom . brings back happy memories of council estates in the 80s...
The isolation coming from the internet age gives a new wave of relatability to the song.
Sweet. Sniff sniff.☺️❤️
You don't need to introduce yourself, tony....we all know who you are ;)
Slightly disappointing that this is really an advert. I’d love to listen to more of Tony’s analyses of other things he worked on. I’d also LOVE for him to narrate his book as an audiobook!! I really couldn’t listen to anyone else reading the Master’s words!
Things I can't handle: other people getting emotional over things that make me emotional. :'( lovely video but oh my goodness the feels :'(

Great! Great! Visconti the best. “The Man Who Sold The World” It was the first vinyl I bought when I was 14 years old.
2:59 ❤❤❤
Man, he wrote that when he was just 22 years old. I could barely tie my shoe-lace when I was 22... Damn!
To what basically boils down to an advert.
I love hearing David and Hutch singing together, and have always felt that Phillips should have signed Hutch as well as David. Then we would hear them continuing to sing together on the Space Oddity album!
sttgaegoaktd
I'm confused - is Hutch only on the demo Bowie made or is he in the version that we all know? Thanks!
Wait... is this advertising for this dumb headphone? Really?....
Thank you Tony. I'm sure you did an amazing job on this.
360? Thats the first time I see such a thing...
//⚡️// Mr Tony Visconti, thanx for you talent, you are amazing ! //⚡️//
chills... the space oddity demo. we need an album of demo and rarities. in vinyl. i already have some of his stuff sung in italian. pretty amazing.
Tony .. the fantastic man behind the stage.. RIP David..!
The only song on the David Bowie / Space Oddity album that he did not produce.
My homage and respect for these wondefully shared musical treasures. My homage and respect for Tony Visonti for his five decades of devoted friendship including during Berlin dark and long winters.
This is great!! Ty for this. 👍💜🎼🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤘😪😪😪
'friend of David Bowie for 48 years'. Apart from that 11 year gap in the middle where David blanked you.
And?
i cried too cause it shows how
magical the music of David Bowie can be!
Tony Visconti, thanks for all T.rex And David Bowie records.
I love David so much and would Love to be sitting at that soundboard! That was my dream to be a sound engineer.

Luv Tony Visconti
Then ashes to ashes.,✌️♥️✌️
Fabulous Toni Visconti
wonderful
This is awesome and so was he.💜 #DB
I like Visconti's new remix of the Space Oddity LP. It makes it a little more into a rock album, as Bowie's back-up group Junior's Eyes sounds more prominent. BUT his remix of the song 'Space Oddity' itself is clueless imho. The ethereal quality of the version we all know and love is lost in a mix that seems embarrassed by the original's sparkling, spacial effects. And a very lame 'dad' idea to bring the drums up too. "I bet the kids will like it more if it has a real beat." Or something. I suggest buying it, and simply skipping 'SO' and starting with 'Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed', the second track.
Thankyou. Tony...
THANXXXX!
Tony...or Sony, I don't see the 360 version anywhere, it's not on Tidal. Where can we hear it? I see the "Master" version on Tidal. Thanks for your work.
Thanks Tony ... your insights and thoughts are always interesting and enlightening.
I love David, (you'll see my comments throughout these vids) but I love David's sense of humor so much: He admitted to Letterman that he downloaded music..😂
So, I get it. This is a SONY ad. I see ppl writing abt their technology brands, but, REALLY, it's always been the music & charming humor that made the man. If you die tomorrow, do you *Really* want your eulogy to start with: "Well, what a loss-the owner of the new iPhone." 😂💗
❤❤❤❤❤
I heard a 360 version of Bohemian Rhapsody a few months ago, and the first thing I thought was, "Wow, the 'Sweet Thing' Suite would sound amazing this way."
I'm really excited to his next mixes, especially Ziggy Stardust.
The drums and the base are recorded in the same track is almost impossible to divide them. Well. Good News, with the AI and Convolution you can divide them in each track. So you can now divide music.
What about the crappy mix of "HEROES" on the 'New Career' box set?
😢3:20🥲
Very natural faze sound world, and I bought this mix .Tony released a better sound !
Tony declined to produce this song originally. That drives me nuts.
That's what I thought too!
same here. it was because he didn't like the demo and gave it to gus dudgeon who did some mixing on bowie's first album in 1967.
Ryan G. Everyone can be wrong...But 48 years of proven friendship speak for themselves.
@@Romalvx I didn't say he was wrong, I just find it odd that it started (or failed to start) with that incredible song.

You don't say. Take care Tony, the remix was an after thought.
Great Video. One of my favourite albums growing up.
This is great. Love Tony's bass playing, too.
David Bowie Number 1 Legend
No entiendo nada de lo que dice pero me encanta :) ♥️ .. Bowie es eterno .. saludos de Puno - Perú 🇵🇪
Y yo de Lima! Que paja que gente de Peru escuche a Bowie ❤️🇵🇪
Just listened to the remix on Apple Music. Stunning.
Tx for the pub😂
Only Space Oddity or the whole LP ?
Eternal longing!!! Mr Bowie 🎶🎤🙏💕⭐

Beautiful insight.
Started nice and then turned into an ad for Sony. Sad
Thats how it feels to me too, like it should be out now. Great song.
the 2019 Tony Visconti 360 mix is unbelievable, when he said you will listen to it 200 times more, he was not even joking, it is that good
available on tidal, amazon, qobuz or cd, ......anyways it is a must have album!
