Try to always take a piece of scrap yarn with you to the store to match the shades better!!

That wouldnt help because there are a lot of similar yarns. You need to watch out not only for what brand it is and what color it is, you need to see what LOT it is so the color is exactly the same. If the skein is not from the same lot you got your yarns before, the shade will be a bit different, and that's especially the problem when working with darker colors. So if you're only bringing a piece of scrap yarn you can think it's the same shade, but when you make the whole project you'll see it's not the same shade...
Anyways...english is not my first language so idk how to explain it better :(

@@me9981that does make a lot of sense but i was saying from personal experience since where i live there arent many brands and surprisingly even if i get the same brand and colour of yarn 6 months apart it always is the same lot so the scrap yarn idea always works in my case at least but ya your point is very valid:)

@@razanhassan909 oh wow 😮 that means that probably not many people in your area use the yarn you use so you're lucky actually 😮 you probably can't run out, so lucky 😂😂😂

Always keep the labels of all the yarns you're using for your current projects and keep them together, you can also glue scraps of each of the yarn to every label.
The thing I do is I keep notes in a notebook with all the important stuff about my projcts. I didn't do it until a month ago and then I started to have problems because I currently have 5 big projects and I'm using so much yarn and all the different hook sizes n stuff so I took a notebook and wrote the important notes such as : hook sizes, where I bought the yarn, all the info from the label of the yarn (brand, color, lot, grams etc) , I also write myself a pattern while doing it so I have it if I want to make it again...
    Edit: love your videos btw.
