Hey dude I will check out the academy for sure. And your October activity sounds great but I already have my first XC Clinic in October. If I had known about yours I would have joined it first I think. Instead, I am going to be doing it in Bir Billing, India. Some background on me: 17,000+ hour helicopter pilot, a Newbie paraglider Pilot, Learned in China, went to the UK learned more there, rated in both places went back to China, still a 20-hour newbie. Going on the India trip with my club from the UK. Coach tells us all to brush up on Nil wind takeoffs and landings. Hard to do in China not much paragliding around Beijing where I live, it's always on organized trips. Searched on UA-cam but most Nil wind videos are for the PPG crowd. Any Advice? Any chance of you doing a video on the topic? Not something that's been covered much out there. Thanks man. I definitely want to go to Turkey for the SIV, Acro would be fun too.

Awesome! Good work buddy. When i was a P2 it was hard, I went to my local sites (all p3 sites) and offered to drive for the local XC pilots, eventually they hooked me up with the club safety officer and he was able to observe for me to start getting morning sledders and evening glass off flights. Of course eventually i got into mid day and now fly in some of the sprint league tasks (I’m not very good at tasks yet) but I’m getting better and flying farther. This time of year in the western Sierra’s are pretty spicy so it’s definitely not my favorite time of year but I’m still flying and getting better. It’s so good to have peers.

I am so happy for you. I'm figuring out my own launch zones I'm just getting my p2 and I'm all alone here. I'm glad you have help but I'm afraid I'd fly into somebody. What a great comment I enjoyed it.

@@markmcgoveran6811 try to find people that fly in your area. Having mentors is one of the most valuable assets in your early progression and even when you have 70 or more hours. The next thing to do is take an SIV, it will make you a much safer and much more confident pilot, and give you so much more confidence in your gear. Good luck and safe landings. Always listen to your instincts, if you don’t feel 100% stoked to fly then there’s no point in pushing it, it can be weather feeling a little too strong, or you not feeling 100% for whatever reason, maybe you didn’t get a good nights rest, if you are ever on launch and don’t feel 100% stoked to go fly there’s no shame in packing back up and flying another day, I’ve done that many times, and a lot where actually really good days but I never am ashamed of that decision. Hope you find some peers to fly with, it makes all the difference.
