Even a 1% droprate is pretty insane. Anything below 2% and the you probably won't even see the item unless you farm it religiously. Considering it's BiS for multiple casters, I think bumping it to 4% wouldn't be too bad. Expected to see it after 25 runs, still have to win the loot roll. Considering the instance lockout is 30 per day, you basically use all your instances for a chance to roll on this thing.

that's not how drop rate works. just because something is a 1% drop chance doesn't mean you are guaranteed a drop after 100 runs. I farmed Baron Rivendare's mount in OG wrath when it was bumped up to 1% drop rate, it took me 130 runs to get it, one of my guildies got it after doing 5 runs.
should be 25%, no reason to make it that kinda grind. It's dumb as shit.

.25% on a seasonal realm is nuts. We don't even know what they are doing with the game come phase 4. For all we know the realms could be maintenance modes in 4 months.

@@zotix3855 i'd say that's absolutely possible. will you get it though? no. will it be irrelevant in like 2 or 3 months? pretty sure, yes. now you can complain about a few items you're not supposed to get... or you just get an alternative item which there are plenty of and maybe message a guy who has it how cool he is. i think that's a better game than a game where everybody can get everything with little to no effort (

I think blizz jumped the gun on nerfs and needs to up the drop rate to at least 1%. still make it a grind but give some light at the end of the tunnel
Considering how quick it is to farm princess I can see why they did it. But, at the same time its a bit silly to have it that low. Espeicaly since you can do it in a raid of 10 people, with likely mutiple casters.
@@mongoosegang Oh same I'd be annoyed too. I dont see many people soloing it would take too long. But I def agree it should be increased drop rate, like why allow a raid team of 10 be able to do it if you just gona lower the drop rate. Its crazy some of the decisions they make.
I think for season stuff, drop rates should be at lowest probably around 3-5%. It’s low, making it rare, but it’s not to the point of unobtainable before it’s outdated in some capacity.
Or, make something easier to obtain, with *slightly* less values, procs, etc, and make it easier to be obtained. That way items like BoED are still unique and recognizable, but there is essentially a “welfare” one you can still get that may be like 80% as powerful, but a little bit easier to obtain via RNG or by x time investment on y quest chain/faction rep/whatever

@@noble61483 I’m not sure where you’re getting this data but looking at sod not only are they not close in stats, it doesn’t have half the weapon damage, proc, etc. they are in no way similar to each other at all. If I am mistaken feel free to link me wow head links

Low % drop rate Epic item being considered "gatekeeping" is quite amusing. Just go back to Retail WoW if you want epics handed to you for every 10mins of gameplay, this version of WoW aint it.
......Sulthraze takes like 2 or 3 days maximum to get. Fuck casters though I guess

People aren't entitled to receive every item in game, people are getting too sweaty and entitled and think they deserve every bis item ever.

This is Seadon of Discovery and not Season of Tryhards. Let people get their gear and DISCOVER/TEST things out. Isn't that the entire point of all this?
Because after SoD all that gear or gold you have will mean JACK.

I just got Blade of Eternal Darkness tonight on my tank shaman doing 5man WO runs while leveling. the warlock/priest were pissed
Either increase all the drop chances for these types of items or increase none of them imo
ive farmed over 400 warlock portals and still no dagger litterally gotten every item possible a few times over besides the dagger

I think it's good that the game has those super rare items, but it should be reserved for things like the mount from Strat Undead. Not BiS items that everyone needs to compete in raid.

Yeah for sure! Spending forever searching for an active portal then the extreme amount of time it takes for the imp to come back. Annoying

There are plenty of alternatives to this weapon and at most, this dagger is a 10-20 DPS boost over other options.
Having a low drop rate for specific items is what makes an MMO's worth playing.
Go back to retail if you want handouts and gear that doesn't matter anymore.
It's 3% of a percent. To put it in another way. You need to roll a 100 out of 100 and still have a 3% chance of it dropping. Then calculate how many people you'll be rolling against. Happy hunting.
Not to mention the current raid dagger is 1sp higher than gnomer one... the upgrade options are just not there.
They increase the drop chance of BoED in Classic at some point prior to the release of BC. I think the drop chance became 2-2.5% or something. I don't see why they would just do that again for a seasonal realm.
I think dungeon epics should remain rare. If anything they should reduce Sulthraze's drop chance again
I agree .. i already think that videogames with items with drop rates below 5% should be considered gambling and thus have a 18+ pegi. (maybe that would stop devs doing it) .. so imma agree: the general public has so little understanding of item drop rates in games that even your chat don't understand why it has nothing to do with entitlement and everything to do with cheap ways of creating 'replayability'

I couldn’t get my bis weapon as rogue in phase 2 because it was a world drop, or on AH for a couple thousand gold, i just didn’t get it. Oh well

Its a seasonal server, everything should be a little easier to get compared to classic retail. Whats the point of playing sod, if everything is gonna be as hard to get as retail? Just the constant grinding and 0 reward is taking a toll in people. Phase 3 is gonna start seeing people leaving. Everything is mega inflated in prices now, patterns super pricey, some proffesions are not as rewarding, sucking the fun out of sod

The drop rate being below 1% on an item that will be replaced in a couple months is insane.
They should just raise it to 3% chance
Got extremly lucky with my BoED on 6th run. Was just doing Princess runs for wild offerings with my boys, didn't even consider the possibility of it to drop. No competition also.
Same 4th run won it with a 57 roll agains 3 others haha
Not enough loot drops in the ST raid. I've cleared 2 lockouts and have zero loot.
this is a really fun item that opens up a lot of different playstyles. blizz is in over their heads
They should for sure change it to the 2% droprate like in classic era
their refusal to do anything about the rising warrior meta has led me to unsub and uninstall WoW and battlenet as of today. I refuse to play in a game, dominated by warriors, I have done that once already, it's called classic. Aggrends refusal to address this issue has made me quit
Lol melee don't even get any gear updates in dungeon loot we are still rocking basically twink gear meanwhile casters have entire sets made for them, sounds like your just bad at the game considering warriors have gotten pretty shafted as far as runes and itemization is considered

Farmed this in 2019 before the drop rate buffs, took me 260 runs:P extremely lucky

Maybe increasing the drop % slightly, but I personally feel that it should be so rare that not everyone will have them by the end of the phase. 1% sounds reasonable, but the game is extremely boring when you get BiS First week.

if u have the time to farm it if they changed it to 1% you have the time now to farm it on 0.7%, it will suck to farm it even on 1% or 2 % coz u need to do so many runs. but IF P3 is as short that P2 was, you will spend more time farming bis wep then playing P3 sad enough. if u aint lucky

Items with drop chances like that are not farmable. It is pure luck.

first they wanted ST nerfed a 2nd time when there was no need. now they want increased drop rates on everything. zzzzz. at the same time tho. im ok with 1% given the phase is relatively short.

Why are players acting like they HAVE to have every BiS item for every phase? This is classic. Some items are really rare and not supposed to be obtained by every player who wants them. Don't like it? Play retail or something else. Don't cry in the forums and ruin it for people who are busy actually playing and enjoying the game.
It's not like you need full BiS to progress/clear the content, faaaaar from it. You don't need full BiS to get a sweet 99 parse. So what are you guys so worried about?
They killed the leveling experience(atleast for a time) with the incursions. They kinda killed BG's with the easy rep from Ashenvale event/STV event->AB rep tokens (and took a huge dump in the faces of the people who farmed WSG exalted before Ashenvale quest turned into a daily)
Sure, let's also kill that epic feeling when an insanely rare item drops. Although it seems they did something with epic BoE's droprate already. Had 3 drop in one day. First Lei of Lillies dropped in Hinterlands Incursions, and then Axe of the Deep Woods + Eye of Flame dropped within 3 minutes of each other while farming with guildies.
I see this fella in the comments who quit the game because he couldn't get his BiS fast enough and complaining that the game doesn't respect his time. Brotherman, this is classic. You are playing Classic World of Warcraft. I think Blizzard needs to put a disclaimer on the Classic character create screen telling players that this is in fact not retail, but classic, with some new elements.

You are a good example of what I am saying. You say you don't wanna farm an item like this when the phase is so short. Who exactly is forcing you to farm this item? And why do you think you absolutely need it? Don't farm it bro. Just use another main-hand. But please don't cry to blizzard in the forums asking them to make everything easier/faster and have them erase essential parts of classic, like certain items being VERY rare and hard to get.

I think it is not crazy that the item has a 0.26% Dropchance - it is crazy that people want to farm this. There will be better Items in the next phase for sure, so you are farming in a few week long phase for hundreds of hours for an item worthless in 8 weeks
As someone who did 1600+ runs during 2019 classic for this on my mage, it should definitely be increased. I farmed mine during Covid and was home for months and had nearly unlimited time for that nonsense. On a seasonal server that could just be completely shut down in 8 more months, just feels extremely excessive when there’s way more content we could be doing. I’m not advocating for it to be dropped every 3rd run wheee it becomes vendor trash, but it’s far too low. Since they already set a precedent with the ZF swords, it’s an odd choice that they left this one out. If this wasn’t seasonal and we knew 100% it would continue on I’d care less about it. Seasonal and temporary changes everything imo

a weapon this powerful should not be available to everyone just willy nilly... you aren't fooling anyone guys, we know this dagger = infinite mana, especially in SOD so if you can't deal with the low drop rate go reroll or go for another weapon. just like edgemasters and pendulum of doom; not everyone gets to just find this because they really really want it.

i think droprates should be even less, not everyone should have the BiS item, makes having it more special. Also most people in BiS gear parse 50s anyway.
