The Daily Wire Ben you keep flirting with Christianity... maybe soon you can take off ur little hat! Besides, Ravi needs it much worse than you for his bald spot!! (Just kidding, love you and this series!)
The greatest that ever lived; He had no servants, yet they called Him Master. He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet Kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He had no crime, yet they crucified Him. He had no need, yet He forgave them as they mocked. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. His name is Jesus Christ and He is the Saviour of the world.
@Paula Wallace men are the persecutors of this world. Jesus Christ was never an oppressor. Rather he was crucified for his many miracles and the religious leaders of Israel feared a paradigm shift. Torah and Tanakh are prophecies of the messiah. We know who the messiah is, he is Yeshua. Jesus Christ of Nazareth who’s blood was shed as the final atonement for the sin of the entire world. I was an atheist 5 years ago, until I had an encounter with God the father. He sent me to Sheol, there I was tortured and mutilated by five demons. It felt like I was there forever, when there was nothing left of my body it came back together and they tortured me all over again. It wasn’t until I screamed the name of Jesus Christ and begged to be saved from this horrible place that these demons literally jumped away from me and Jesus literally pulled me out of that awful place. I never saw the world the same way since.
This dude is something else. The way he speaks carries this undeniable sense of wisdom, gentleness, humility, and genuine care for the person he’s addressing (in this case Ben).
@EMP C As Jesus said, Luke 6:22-23 22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
I had a very wise teacher from India as student at U.T. Austin in 1982. Every word coming from his mouth was mesmerizing. He studied under Mahatma Ghandi as a youth. Upon dismissal, most students simply stayed in their seats wanting more! His lectures were just SO, SO intriguing! Dr. Ram Joshi was like the Pied Piper of teaching. He was always followed by a pack of young people around campus. Great speaker and truly cared for young kids.
Well he did get to go home before Jesus returns. Rest in paradise Ravi. Edit: In light of the finished investigation into Ravi's misconduct it puts into serious question Ravi's genuineness. While we are all sinners, he appeared to have no remorse for his consistent sinful behavior and went to great lengths to manipulate those around him. Now my prayers are with all those who have been victimized because of his conduct. I pray that God gives you peace, closure, and the strength to move forward.
Just got to know you after your transition. I am so blessed just listening to UA-cam teachings. Thank you for all that you did. Enjoy your awesome life eternal. Hoping to see you when I get there too. Maranatha!
Mad Dog Avraham And when He does the whole world will see Him coming in the clouds. Yet you can die before than and already be judged, because anyone who does not believe in the Son, does not have eternal life, but is condemned already being we have all done evil against a Holy and perfect God.
@Gustave My friend: It's not only in John. Allow me to explain: John is clear right from the beginning of his gospel that Jesus is God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [b]comprehend it." John 1:1-5 These cannot be true of Jesus if he is not God. Jesus was with God IN THE BEGINNING. What does Genesis say? "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;" Genesis 1:26. Jesus was with God in the beginning and he was God. God made us in his and Jesus" likeness because the two are one. You are correct that Jesus himself often separates himself from God. Why is this? Jesus came to show us humans what the perfect human life looks like and what we are supposed to measure up to. Even though he was God he had to humble himself for our sake so he could show us how we are to act. "Have this attitude [e]in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be [f]grasped, 7 but [g]emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death [h]on a cross." Philippians 2:5-8 Jesus also makes 7 I AM statements in the gospel of John. 7 is God's number and obviously Jesus new full well using I AM was referring back to when God revealed himself to Moses. Christians have believed Jesus to be God from the beginning of Christianity. It is not paganism. It is biblical and that is why the vast majority of denominations that claim to be Christian believe in the Trinity.
Mad Dog Avraham Words of Christ to you .. “And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life .. Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
Parker Parker - I’m an electrical engineer, after 3 years in the field, your statement barley scratches the surface.... I know very few engineers that are atheist
3 years? Congrats, that’s a long time... not sure what your response intended in purpose. Of course The Light as a description barely scratched the surface, if at all... but I wasn’t trying to write sermon. 😁 Christ is the light of your soul, humanity, the world, the heavens, grace, love, guide to rebirth in spirit, the Kingdom within, Elohim, God, The All, Yeshua, The Creator, The Light. Maybe I scratched it this time ✌️❤️🙏
Parker Parker - I agree with you. I wanted to add that the word ‘light’ was a fascinating choice for the writers to use. Truly Devine. What is light? Who / why was it created. The chances that light happened by accident-inconceivable. All of the discoverable ‘laws’ of physics needed to be set in motion for light to be possible. The flow of electrical current helped me understand that ‘I’ / we are nothing... The distance between the electron and the nucleus is so massive (like a marble on the 50 yard line and outer stadium lights will begin the electron cloud). So what is this desk, the car, this earth? There’s more of nothing than of something. What holds us together? Also, what is the identifier i.e. IP address (the soul). It makes you, you and me, me. Powered by a spirit (Greek used pneuma). Truly fascinating.
Johns Town Yes matter is basically a bunch of “nothing.” We keep discovering smaller and smaller particles- quarks, sub-quarks, higgs boson... in my mind it is just the image of God’s spoken word, not exactly fake, but much less real than things eternal...
Now Ben is in trouble. The Holy Spirit of God talk to Him through Ravi. Ben Only two things accept or reject Jesus. That is the great business Of the Holy Spirit of God, then other things just follow.
@Mad Dog Avraham one less guy your gonna regret not listening too cause u can't accept logic like the SJW. Logic dosen't care about your feelings !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Mad Dog Avraham well u dont need to go hating on christianity whatever u believe to be true ull find out in death. But till then dont simply deny things without evidence like a fool disprove them with facts or else dont speak negativity . I wanna recommend a channel for you to watch till then he goes by the name Todd White he goes healing in the name of Jesus even in israel changing their minds through these miracles.
If not for him, and a speech he gave at princeton university few yes ago. It was posted by someone on UA-cam. Had I not seen that 1 video in February of this year, I wouldn't be here now... alive..... thing is, I didn't know what an apologist was? I nvr heard or Dr. Ravi Zacharias before, but one bad night god placed that video on my home page to watch for a reason. I miss him dearly and wished I could at least maybe be blessed enough to hear him speak live, or that I would find the courage to write him and say ty! I waited too long, missed my chance to act. Pray i will be blessed enough to have my name in the lambs book of life & see him and our wonderful, merciful creator! God bless you all.....
I feel like it would be a strange conversation, primarily centered around defining terms and concepts. I think that Ravi would drop a resurrection case on Peterson and it would get real from there.
I thought that the first time I hear Jordan (I knew of Ravi prior) I would love love love it as well; your point is well taken so I think a good moderator would be best :-)
I think just an exchange of ideas between them would be the best course to follow and we could instantly compare both of their philosophies and also analyze each other's differences.
Didn’t realize how much I needed to hear this discussion until I started listening. My spirit was deeply moved to hear a Christian perspective that wasn’t blunted by politics.
You should listen to some of his many presentations at universities like Princeton and others. They are very good and reveal so much about logical thought and the Christian faith. Ravi is the unofficial spokesman for the Protestant Church today. Godspeed.
@Trevo Studen The Gospel of Jesus Christ. What is the Gospel? Its that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, and that He rose again on the 3rd day according to the scriptures. (1 Cor 15:1-4) The Bible is the only book and religion in the world that actually offers hard core, undeniable evidence and facts that its REAL, through the OT prophets and the things and event that have already happened surrounding Israle, Jesus and the Church 2000 years ago, even modern Israel's return as a nation in 1948. All these thing were predicted in specific details centuries before any of it came to pass in the OT. We know these things happened because secular historians agree they happened, and we know they were written beforehand because we have thousands of copies of the OT that predate Christ and the key events by multiple centuries.
Mad Dog Avraham As Christian we don’t have the power to “convert” a Jew, we just tell them the Truth and God will do the work in them. I say that with love and understanding.Try to Read Isaiah 53. Have a great day!
And yet Jesus' very person--which encapsulates his good life, death, and resurrection--compels people like Ben to come to know God through Him. I pray for Ben to come know Jesus the way Jesus wants to be known by everyone. After all, Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through Him! God bless you all!
@@jesfavor831 Jesus has a good sense of humor. I'm not so sure anyone knows what He actually meant by that and I think claiming understanding is a bit ... brave.
@@starman721 I respect your opinion, but I believe Jesus spoke plainly when he said that; He wasn't speaking in parables. He meant what He said verbatim, no sense of humor necessary. That promise after all touches on the very core of His existence and deals with our eternal life.
i'm a very arrogant person. when highly intelligent people speak, i usually think i'm smarter than them. when ravi speaks, i think, 'that man is smarter than me, wiser than me, and more humble than me.'
dan lauing ii Bro Ravi is the last person you should regard as smart and humble. He’s an academic fraud and liar. And even on the subject he speaks about most (philosophy of religion), he’s incredibly and painfully shallow.
THANK YOU! This presentation was a great gift to the soul. I enjoyed my two favorite brains. One day in eternity I hope to enjoy you interviewing Moises and even God. Why not?
When Ravi responds: he has a story, asks a question, says what the answer is and explains the way of thinking and reasoning, gives the why, answers the question, and concludes. It’s truly a poetic way of thinking and talking
The sin-sacrifice-resurrection story implies a superstitious God who values blood sacrifice. It’s obvious that the superstitious early folks who valued blood sacrifice created the God of The Bible in their own image.
@@kddd8234 Christian writers created the resurrection hoax by making up a fake empty tomb story & fake eyewitnesses/testimonials, but didn’t realize the sin-sacrifice-resurrection implies a superstitious God who values blood-sacrifice, which was a common practice back then - e.g. sacrificing a goat for a new home. Because, to define something is to box it in. You cannot define rights because they change. Slavery was once considered a right. Society negotiates rights and codifies them into law.

Jesus as God takes you in a different direction then Jesus as the worst false prophet in history..... think about it. Ben manipulating that massively.
Gabriel Bermudez When I read the ending of 1 Corinthians 13, “And now abides faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love,” I learned that in performing intercessory prayer for others, that I build upon these three. My FAITH in His eternal Word, knowing that His desire is that we all come to repentance. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“ My HOPE is for all of us to realize how precious each of us are to the Most High, and to LOVE the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to LOVE our neighbors as we love ourselves. 1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” Pray that the desire to seek out God will grow in every heart, and that this desire will culminate in developing a personal relationship with Jesus. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us to us... Matthew 5:43-48 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

@NateI can reasonably say that God is my last hope for salvation. I look through Christianity, and I just put the word God instead of Jesus, and everything is the same. Take Jesus out of the equation! why have him?
@Paula Wallace Jesus said He is God. “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” John 8:56-58 Now notice that Jesus called Himself, “I am.” This is the same thing that God called Himself in Exodus 3:6 and 14. The Jews understood exactly what Jesus did. Jesus was declaring that He was the God they worshipped - the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And they picked up stones to kill Him (John 8:59) because he had declared that He was God. (www.neverthirsty.org/bible-qa/qa-archives/question/did-jesus-ever-say-that-he-was-the-son-of-god/) “I and the Father are one.” The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” (NASB) John 10:30-33 Isaiah 44:6. Since scripture claims this is a title for God and Jesus “says” he is the First and the Last then, this proves Jesus is God."

I don't seen the important on King Jame only issue I think that people who focus on it a blind by who god is who his words original script was in Hebrew and Coinage Greek this was the original place of text of script yet because the fact that we start translation it in to English and other language it was able advance are own language by tried translation it to English and other languages. in this way God word gave us so much modern language when it translated.
Where is Dr. Ravi pointing? I don't recall him saying "Jesus". Dr. Ravi said Jews have communion with God, 52:55. If you think about it Ravi is saying Jews don't need Jesus. If in one hour, Ravi, the skilled communicator, gives no evidence to confirm you view, perhaps we should call it interfaith ecumenicalism.
@@markmantooth7693 He says "Jesus". He says he found Jesus as an answer for himself. I didn't notice any implication that Jews or anyone else needs Jesus. How are we to interpret this? Did he mean that Jesus was needed by Jews and not say it or did he mean what he said and accidentally or intentionally avoid the issue. When a professional Christian interviews a professional Jew for one hour, the significance of Jesus Christ will not be accidentally skipped over. It was on purpose. Why? To promote unity. If it is skipped over enough the Christians will be inviting the Jews over for supper and to speak in the church. Ben Shapero lectured the big student assembly of Liberty University.
I Agree that Tim Keller would be great as well! His way of respectable, yet stimulating conversation with others is really similar to Ravi’s way of conversation here.
Sampiro Locke The Old Testament and New Testament have had words twisted to fit the narrative of Christianity.. The New Testament has been manipulated so much by The Council of Nicaea it is made to look like it matches up with the book of Isaiah by intentionally taking words out of context. Along with other books in the Old Testament of the Bible. To include Job and others.
@Mad Dog Avraham Synagogue of Satan. The Bible states it pretty clearly. Jews who are Romans 2:29 King James Version (KJV) 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Paula Wallace please prayerfully read Isaiah 53. “1 Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? 9 And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.” Isa53.1-12
Paula Wallace also, please read Psalm 22 with a prayerful heart. ““My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them. To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads; "He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!" Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother's breasts. On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother's womb you have been my God. Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help. Many bulls encompass me; strong bulls of Bashan surround me; they open wide their mouths at me, like a ravening and roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast; my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death. For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet- I can count all my bones- they stare and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots. But you, O Lord, do not be far off! O you my help, come quickly to my aid! Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog! Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen! I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him. From you comes my praise in the great congregation; my vows I will perform before those who fear him. The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever! All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth eat and worship; before him shall bow all who go down to the dust, even the one who could not keep himself alive. Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord to the coming generation; they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it.” Psalms 22:1-31
@Paula Wallace For you and for Christians... Knowing how to read and what the Bible says doesn't give you a relationship with God, just as when you read Ben's book doesn't make you Ben's friend... Jesus predicted His death and resurrection, historical FACT! and He says: John 5:39-40 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. I pray that you may come to have fellowship with Him because He is THE WAY TO OUR FATHER! Jesus Christ is longing for you... Galatians 1:14 "I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers." Just like Paul, your zeal is for the traditions of your ancestors, and those traditions ARE NOT GOD!
"Instead of 'Right' and 'Left,' we should be thinking in terms of Up and Down." Liberals and conservatives both need to return to a healthy fear of God. God defines human life as sacred - so should we. We're not simply "a better animal." Bravo Mr. Zacharias! And thanks Mr. Shapiro for the courage to have him and others like him on your show.
Hey guys. I took some notes as I listened. Here is what I got from this wonderful conversation. Ravi: The thorn in the side of the theistic framework is the problem of evil. Pain. Suffering. Virtue in distress, vice in triumph has made atheists of mankind. "How could an all good, all knowing God allow suffering, could God really have an adequate reason for the suffering of man?" One way to face this question is: Does evil even exist? -yes. If evil exists, there must be a moral law. If there is a moral law there must be a moral law giver. Without God, what basis does morality have? (the reason an absolute moral law requires a moral law giver is because every time the question of morality is raised it is assumed that human beings have intrinsic value which can't be posed in a universe that is nothing more than meaningless matter interacting through time and space.) The problem of evil relies on a definition of evil that can only be given in a universe with a God. There is also the God of the philosophers - the unmoved mover. The absolutely first cause. Nothing happens without a cause but the universe can not be infinite, therefore there must be a very first cause, an unmoved mover. -------- Ravi: Origin, morality, meaning, destiny. You can't have a worldview that doesn’t answer these four questions. -------- Ben: This is a richly debated issue in theistic circles Is there a difference between what is moral and what is sinful? Ravi: What has happened in the west is we have tried to keep the morality without the belief there is a moral law giver. We have planted our feet firmly in mid-air. Morality is good for civil co-existence. But morality can't keep us safe from destruction unless we see people as intrinsically valuable, which requires God. -------- Ben: There is a break in right wing political views between the conservative view which values our rights and our duties highly in every political idea, while the libertarian view says let's just allow everybody to do what they will while preserving a few fundamental laws which we all agree on. The more conservative view is criticized for imposing theocracy upon the masses while the libertarian view is criticized for giving people rights without giving them duties. Ravi: The question is not right vs left, but up vs down. It is all about and all rests upon whether or not we collectively have a transcendent frame of value to which we are tied. Also - Egalitarianism and elitism Egalitarianism: all people are equally valuable Elitism: some ideas are better than others Our mistake in naturalistic western society is that we have made ideas equal and people elite. We think that the elite people at the top can tell us what ideas to follow. We should be valuing every person as created equal but only giving ideas status if they deserve it. --------- Ben: Can I be good without believing in God? Is there a good atheist? Ravi: Some atheists put us Christians to shame in their moral goodness. But the statement "I'm an atheist and a good person" is a circular impossibility. What do you mean by "good?" In some places of the world you love your neighbor, in other places you eat them. Both cultures think they are doing what is good. If I think that goodness is based on what I personally think it is, I have to give that prerogative to every other person (think Hitler). The Indians thought they were being good for millennia when they forced a married woman to throw herself onto the fire of her husband's burning body after he died. To say "I am good" is a highly risky statement if you do not believe in absolutes. To do so is a relativistic statement, which is self-defeating. (If all truth is relative, is that an absolutely true thing to say or is it also relative)? We talk a lot about rights, but we have not defined what is right. ----------- Ben: Let's talk about rights then. How can we value peoples' rights without making a theocracy? (political forced religion) Ravi: Theocracy is wrong. It is not in alignment with Gods nature - God gave us the ability to believe or disbelieve, we need to value that freedom. But God didn't dismiss the entailments of what each of those options would mean. But today it is those in opposition to Judeo-Christian values who are trying to oppose their theocracy. Theocracy to an idea is the quickest way to destroy a belief in that idea. ------- Ben: What to say to the secular humanist who claims that we are a pre-determined ball of meat floating through space and even our thoughts are just firing neurons? Ravi: I would ask them if that statement was determined or if they actually think that themselves. It’s a back door way to avoid responsibility. Why would we even have court systems if not for the fundamental belief in free will (this is like Peterson's case for free will based on its societal utility). The pre-determined worldview says that there must not be morality then as morality is subject to free will. --------- Ben: What do you think about the area where we disagree - Jesus? Ravi: When the messiah comes we will just have to ask him "Have you been here before?" haha Jesus is the fulfillment of the law that you believe in. He completes it. I believe in Jesus because of my personal relationship with Him. I hunger for not just the proposition but also the completion and I see in Christ the completion of the whole Judeo-Christian thing we both love. We both have this in common - both of our highest goal is this. We both want communion with God.

I greatly admire Ben Shapiro’s open mindedness in having Christian powerhouses such as Ravi and John MacArthur on his show. What fascinating and respectful conversations!
The gospel is the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM! Repent and believe the gospel! Follow Jesus’ teachings! Jesus is going to return and set up the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH! God’s government ON THE EARTH! The Messiah will resurrect his people! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21 Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. RSV Only-monos God-theos Monos theos Monotheism The Father Jesus is the one sent by the true God (the Father)! Jesus never claimed to be God, Jesus said he has a God! Jesus has a God! Jesus died! God can’t die! God raised Jesus from the dead!
I believe people instinctively understand that true Christian men of their caliber will always be respectful and dignifying, always holding value to themselves and of course to the person they are speaking to. You cannot expect that always with other religions. Pretty sure our common sense leads us to that conclusion.
@Mitchell. Honest question. Has that approach ever worked? I haven't seen it happen, so I'm honestly curious. I'm not sure there is any Love there. Maybe go back and read the Gospels, and remember what Jesus answered when asked what the most important commandment was. He gave two, and said they were equally important. That was just very heavy on my heart, I'm not trying to argue. I don't know that presenting a God who *is* love in a confrontational way beats a lot of fruit, but I also know that God gave a donkey the ability to speak and save his owner 's life, so I know if God can use Balaam's donkey, a lot of things are possible :0)
@Leslie, why? *When John dies, will be go to a different heaven than Ravi?* Because there is just the one, and they are being mentioned together because most political podcasts don't usually have Pastors, etc on. You don't have to answer, just food for thought. I can't ever find responses anyway.
Praying for Ravi and his family cause his prognosis today:( . Please God watch over Ravi and his family, we love you, thank you God for giving us such an amazing person that's touched millions of peoples hearts, all of our lives, amen
Whenever intellectuals talk down on the Christian worldview I'm going to point them torwards Ravi Zacharias. If you still think all Christians are fools after that I can't help you.
Christians are not necessarily fools, and most decent unbelievers would attest to that. People believe things for good reasons and bad reasons. This applies to everyone. We're ALL susceptible to being wrong or misguided. Most people don't believe things for good reasons, though. They accept what they are taught then defend that using biased techniques they were taught by apologists, editing out what's troublesome and ignoring important questions. The best solution is to ask the hardest questions and be willing to follow them all the way to the actual answer, not the "safe" answer.
Paula Wallace can’t back up your claim can you? It is you that has been lying and purposefully lying to yourself and others. If your worldview states you are nothing but stardust and descendant from bacteria and related to shower mold and trees, then why were you compelled to make such a spineless comment? Think about it, if your worldview is that of a naturalist and there is nothing and we are all here by chance(even though that chance mathematically states it’s impossible on multiple levels), then you should live in line with your worldview and not care what Christians say yet here you are in direct contradiction from your worldview. Strange that atheists get angry and emotional and feel compelled to make spineless foolish claims that there is no God. Think about how that contradicts their claim. If they say God doesn’t exist, then why do they go out of their way and get emotional over “nothing?” Because deep down they are simply angry at God, and manifests this foolish looking contradicting behavior. Weird they make a bunch of noise over their initial claim that there is “no God.” This is why God in the Bible says those that deny His existence are “fools.” Atheists have no objective moral standard yet they try to make moral judgements towards God and Christians and care when sinful people rob steal rape murder and genocide, when a true atheistic naturalist should not care because according to them this is all by chance and means nothing, but atheists never are consistent and must borrow morality from God.
@Paula Wallace how do you know they are deceived? Alot of people argues even in the selection of a toothpaste. What is the best toothpaste? And how would you know it is indeed the best?
Ravi's sensitive approach to logic and faith is a rare gem in the world. His respect toward all those who question him is humbling as he knows just how to disarm hostility and ignorance and get people to talk on much more level grounds than even someone like Ben Shapiro who is smart but not in the same league as Ravi. I challenge someone to find a better missionary for Jesus Christ and a better representation of intellectual contemplation of Jesus and his importance. Such a brilliant mind and a compassionate heart rests in Ravi. Loved this.
@@thisistheslam Both have a respectful and honoring way of addressing the questioner before the question, I think. But, in fairness I haven't heard as much of William Lane Craig to be certain.

@@Yngsatchvai The Lord has his way and his wisdom goes beyond our own. Ravi ran his race and he ran it to win. His influence was very great and his death cannot take that away. In fact, many times the influence of a person comes out more after their death, than while they are still alive. A new age of apologists is upon us and they've been taught well by Ravi. Even though Ravi potentially could have lived longer, that isn't to say God has good reason to take him now.

While we are all sinners, he appeared to have no remorse for his consistent sinful behavior and went to great lengths to manipulate those around him. Mad Dog Avraham And when He does the whole world will see Him coming in the clouds. Yet you can die before than and already be judged, because anyone who does not believe in the Son, does not have eternal life, but is condemned already being we have all done evil against a Holy and perfect God.
@Gustave Try reading John again. Then do it one more time after that.
@Gustave My friend:
It's not only in John. Allow me to explain:
John is clear right from the beginning of his gospel that Jesus is God.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [b]comprehend it." John 1:1-5
These cannot be true of Jesus if he is not God.
8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death [h]on a cross." Philippians 2:5-8
Jesus also makes 7 I AM statements in the gospel of John.

Words of Christ to you ..

I agree with you.
Mad respect, my brother. Vibrations, split an atom and I am there.
Johns Town Yes matter is basically a bunch of “nothing.” We keep discovering smaller and smaller particles- quarks, sub-quarks, higgs boson... in my mind it is just the image of God’s spoken word, not exactly fake, but much less real than things eternal...

As cool as that would/should be, they are both too long-winded for it work well.
Sounds like sophistry overload.

(1 Cor 15:1-4)
The Bible is the only book and religion in the world that actually offers hard core, undeniable evidence and facts that its REAL, through the OT prophets and the things and event that have already happened surrounding Israle, Jesus and the Church 2000 years ago, even modern Israel's return as a nation in 1948. All these thing were predicted in specific details centuries before any of it came to pass in the OT.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“
My HOPE is for all of us to realize how precious each of us are to the Most High, and to LOVE the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to LOVE our neighbors as we love ourselves.
1 John 4:7-8
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
Pray that the desire to seek out God will grow in every heart, and that this desire will culminate in developing a personal relationship with Jesus.
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us to us...
Matthew 5:43-48
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” John 8:56-58
Now notice that Jesus called Himself, “I am.” This is the same thing that God called Himself in Exodus 3:6 and 14. The Jews understood exactly what Jesus did. Jesus was declaring that He was the God they worshipped - the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And they picked up stones to kill Him (John 8:59) because he had declared that He was God. (www.neverthirsty.org/bible-qa/qa-archives/question/did-jesus-ever-say-that-he-was-the-son-of-god/)
“I and the Father are one.” The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Isaiah 44:6.
Revelation 1:17.
His first line of evidence is to show that the Old Testament claims for God to be The First and The Last. Since scripture claims this is a title for God and Jesus “says” he is the First and the Last then, this proves Jesus is God."

Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord to the coming generation; they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it.”

Bravo Mr. Zacharias! And thanks Mr. Shapiro for the courage to have him and others like him on your show.
Such an excellent comment
Hey guys. I took some notes as I listened. Here is what I got from this wonderful conversation.
Ravi:
The thorn in the side of the theistic framework is the problem of evil. Pain. Suffering.
Virtue in distress, vice in triumph has made atheists of mankind. "How could an all good, all knowing God allow suffering, could God really have an adequate reason for the suffering of man?"
One way to face this question is:
Does evil even exist? -yes. If evil exists, there must be a moral law. If there is a moral law there must be a moral law giver. Without God, what basis does morality have?
(the reason an absolute moral law requires a moral law giver is because every time the question of morality is raised it is assumed that human beings have intrinsic value which can't be posed in a universe that is nothing more than meaningless matter interacting through time and space.)
The problem of evil relies on a definition of evil that can only be given in a universe with a God.
There is also the God of the philosophers - the unmoved mover. The absolutely first cause. Nothing happens without a cause but the universe can not be infinite, therefore there must be a very first cause, an unmoved mover.
--------
Ravi:
Origin, morality, meaning, destiny.
You can't have a worldview that doesn’t answer these four questions.
--------
Ben:
This is a richly debated issue in theistic circles
Is there a difference between what is moral and what is sinful?
Ravi:
What has happened in the west is we have tried to keep the morality without the belief there is a moral law giver. We have planted our feet firmly in mid-air.
Morality is good for civil co-existence. But morality can't keep us safe from destruction unless we see people as intrinsically valuable, which requires God.
--------
Ben:
There is a break in right wing political views between the conservative view which values our rights and our duties highly in every political idea, while the libertarian view says let's just allow everybody to do what they will while preserving a few fundamental laws which we all agree on. The more conservative view is criticized for imposing theocracy upon the masses while the libertarian view is criticized for giving people rights without giving them duties.
Ravi:
The question is not right vs left, but up vs down. It is all about and all rests upon whether or not we collectively have a transcendent frame of value to which we are tied.
Also - Egalitarianism and elitism
Egalitarianism: all people are equally valuable
Elitism: some ideas are better than others
Our mistake in naturalistic western society is that we have made ideas equal and people elite. We think that the elite people at the top can tell us what ideas to follow. We should be valuing every person as created equal but only giving ideas status if they deserve it.
---------
Ben:
Can I be good without believing in God? Is there a good atheist?
Ravi:
Some atheists put us Christians to shame in their moral goodness.
-----------
Ben:
Let's talk about rights then. How can we value peoples' rights without making a theocracy? (political forced religion)
Ravi:
Theocracy is wrong.
-------
Ben:
What to say to the secular humanist who claims that we are a pre-determined ball of meat floating through space and even our thoughts are just firing neurons?
Ravi:
I would ask them if that statement was determined or if they actually think that themselves. It’s a back door way to avoid responsibility. Why would we even have court systems if not for the fundamental belief in free will (this is like Peterson's case for free will based on its societal utility).
The pre-determined worldview says that there must not be morality then as morality is subject to free will.
---------
Ben:
What do you think about the area where we disagree - Jesus?
Ravi:
When the messiah comes we will just have to ask him "Have you been here before?" haha
Jesus is the fulfillment of the law that you believe in. He completes it. I believe in Jesus because of my personal relationship with Him. I hunger for not just the proposition but also the completion and I see in Christ the completion of the whole Judeo-Christian thing we both love.
We both have this in common - both of our highest goal is this. We both want communion with God.

You cannot expect that always with other religions. Pretty sure our common sense leads us to that conclusion.
My goodness, don’t put Ravi in the same category as John MacArthur.
Whenever intellectuals talk down on the Christian worldview I'm going to point them torwards Ravi Zacharias. If you still think all Christians are fools after that I can't help you.
Paula Wallace How so?
@Paula Wallace Yeah I'm curious, whatdo you mean by that Paula.
Weird they make a bunch of noise over their initial claim that there is “no God.” This is why God in the Bible says those that deny His existence are “fools.”
Atheists have no objective moral standard yet they try to make moral judgements towards God and Christians and care when sinful people rob steal rape murder and genocide, when a true atheistic naturalist should not care because according to them this is all by chance and means nothing, but atheists never are consistent and must borrow morality from God.
He looked so healthy here. How quickly we can lose everything. Not a loss that this world will soon forget. Study this man's work, and make more like him.
i'm disappointed.. this should have been 2 hours.. lol
