7:12 firstly I hope you make a full recovery from whatever you are suffering from. Secondly having been in your shoes both from a health standpoint and no licence I can say that my faith was critical to help me overcome the disappointment in myself and situation I found myself in. Two things that my faith has taught me is that PATIENCE is key and GRATITUDE that it could be worse really helps in times of worldly tribulations. Know that out of the darkness of night comes the morning sunshine and remaining positive is the way forward.

Sucks, hope you'll get the all-clear after the MRI..

All the best Bryn. I do X3 the mileage on my bikes (pushbikes) than I do in my cars. Pedal assist bikes are popular for commuting. Just a thought.

But as ot sounds quite sensitive, I will leave that contact in your court...

I had my licence revoked by the DVLA after my consultant sent in a report for various medical issues, in total could not drive for 7 months, it was a nightmare getting to and from work and relying on people for lifts, getting my licence back took 2 months with lots of calls and emails it was a hard upward struggle. Ps it only took 3 days recently to get an MRI scan, the front line NHS staff do a brilliant job in an overstretched but underfunded system, good luck it's a hard road ahead

Have no idea what I would do. Some days I don’t like driving any more so many muppets on the road. But been driving for 20 years and used a car/van every day. for work and day to day stuff As well as for fun in the TT
I really don’t Know what I would do

Now most companies allow working from home, not having a car is not as much of a issue. If however your job depends on it, its gonna be rough. A mate of mine came off the road and crashed his car. Doctors said he had a seizure. He had to change jobs and sell his cars and bikes. He doesn't regret it though. He was just thankful his wife and kid wont in rhe car, and he didn't injure anyone else.

Like many others here, so sorry to hear your news, but I hope you get sorted and you'll be allowed back on the road when you're ready. It's important about what you can do not what you can't ☺I'd be stuffed without my licence as no-one to ferry me around and both local and wider public transport messy and unreliable. TTake care out there and feel the love 😎

Bryn, I’ve just come through a full appendix surgery including surrounding bowel tissue followed by a right hemicolectomy so that’s the right side large intestine removed. I don’t begin to know what you’re going through but I’m looking at a 4-10 month period of no TT tinkering and when I was discharged from hospital I was not allowed to drive for 6 weeks due to an inability to perform an emergency brake application.
I’ll say this for anyone currently in denial over their own health concerns. I’m fully comfortable discussing what has happened to me now that I’ve been through the procedures. However us men are not ones for discussing health issues let alone going to get them sorted. Just think of it as knowing your brakes are going to fail imminently but deciding not to change them, ignorance doesn’t make it better.
I’ve recently lost my uncle through ignorance of prostate cancer and my dad recently survived prostate cancer, this to me is a stark wake up call and the difference in attitudes towards dealing with it are obvious. Get yourselves tested lads, if you’re 50+ you can get it done my dad had a PSA reading of 10.5 with 10 being the lower limit for prostate cancer. My uncle had a PSA reading into the hundreds. It upsets me, he was my uncle by marriage (and divorce) but he could have done something to prevent it or at least given himself a longer life.
Sorry rant over, I’ll carry on watching now, it’s just an outpouring after so many family health issues.

Been back in road before you know it all being well Bryn. The closest i have been to being stranded is when car was in garage for a day ended up being a week( not the same of course) but that was a hard week. Relying on lifts, taxis the car was in garage 14 miles away to drive there 20mins. To get there without a car. Travel work bus time tables trains needing to get to somewhere quickly it really puts in perespective life without a car. So on some level realise it is a massive void. Like you my job requires i have a license with out it i cant do job i have so could lead to loss of employment

Wow!!!! I am in America and we don’t do that here. I am so sorry this has happened. Also, I have been watching your vids for a couple of years now, and you guys do a lot of stuff over there ( pertaining to cars) that we don’t do. Example- MOT- I don’t know what that is, but I hear you guys talking about these inspections, etc., that you have to do drive over there. Man, inspection here in Georgia is really just emissions, nobody checks the brakes, struts, springs, etc. NOBODY!!! Again, sorry to hear that. I had an MRI several years ago and I drove myself to it, lol. We are lax apparently here in USA. Be well, sir, and you will be back behind the wheel in no time!!

Really sorry to hear this. For some people it's just an inconvenience, but when a big part of your life is cars and driving them, it's far more than that. I remember what I was like when I was in my 20s and 30s with cars, and this would feel like the bottom had fallen out if my world. I hope that whatever it was, isn't going to be ongoing.
An old friend of mine has the occasional bout of vertigo which means they get terrible nausea and everything feels like it's spinning round, and as that can strike at any time, they can't drive as it could be dangerous (they've had to tell the DVLA). The last attack left them needing an ambulance. Hope whatever you have is nothing like that.

Wow sorry to learn this. Been there. Suffered a subdural haematoma as a result of an accident. Took 17 months before I got licence back. As this was during covid times and a staff dispute at DVLA obviously did not help. Lots of walking, buses and taxis, just had to get on with it. Burden was lessened as I am retired but a blow never the less.

Really sorry to hear that Bryn, I really hope your tests help to realise a good outcome for you and that they come through sooner rather than later.
You asked what we think would be the best way to deal with this news..... so here goes, I think the best thing you could do is to try to turn bad news into a positive, by making this a challenge. You could aim to get as much done as possible to your TT with no testing, to see if it can take your car to the next level in as many areas as possible, so that when you finally get behind the wheel and send it, you will experience a real dramatic difference. You could make it a 2024 challenge event and take all your viewers with you on the journey. That way we can be there to support you and feel the excitement building along with you.
I get this isn't where your head is probably at, but I think it could be a good way to stay busy and give you something really worth looking forward to.

@@BWSTTglad you clarified that as it was my first thought / worry. Hope you get cleared soon and remember your health is more valuable than your driving license. If it’s any consolation I’ve had really nice cars all my life until a few years ago when I stopped working for ‘the man’ and decided to work from home and not own a car. I still have bikes and my wife lets me drive her car at weekends but I get it, it’s like the rug being pulled from under you. I now walk to a lot of places I’d have instinctively driven to and quite enjoy the challenge in a weird masochistic kind of way 😂
