Hmmm not to sure I think you may struggle because it would be a bit taller and would hit the body mounts at a guess. With the body mount chop I think it would fit
Just watch you don't run that standard spare tyre if you don't want to bind up your drivetrain any time the car locks the centre clutch for 4WD... unless you're happy to make sure the spare is only used on the front and you keep the car in Eco mode so it's rear wheel drive only. When going to different tyre sizes like larger diameter, it's best to make sure you swap out your spare with one the identical size the rest of the car is running, even if it's a used one. I've seen the different sized spare put on the rear axle and it's not great! You can get away with the smaller (standard) spare if you have a rear tyre fail by putting a front on the rear and the spare on the front. Bit more mucking around roadside, but cheaper than 5 brand new larger tyres. If complimentary roadside assist is changing the wheel over for you, they likely won't like the idea of two wheel changes instead of one! 😅
You are very correct bud I will only use it on the front but I am planning on going to a full proper size spare been keeping a eye on marketplace but they are a some what rare sizing by the looks
Your adaptive cruise control will no longer work when larger tires are fitted, wider tires are ok but once you increase the diameter of the wheel the adaptive cruise control stops working.
You just talked about your tyres and mods, nothing to do about the biggest legal tyre, should change the title to be more accurate. Also FYI, the biggest legal is 295/70R17. In terms of the biggest tyres you can fit, it is 305/70R17 without a lift or chop but that is only for the XSR
Well that size is the biggest legal size on the rim because they are a 18 inch rim and as far as the xsr goes I don’t own one of them so can’t comment on what would fit
@Cratesfamilyadventures all good mate, the title should be better worded that's all, as xsr is also a canon but also my stock is 265/65r18, I was watching your video thinking we would come to a segment you talking about the legality of tyre sizes on GWM and was disappointed when you didn't so sort of gave false hope😂
appreciate this video so much! thanks ya legend
Thanks mate hoping to do some more videos with the Ute so keep a eye out
Cheers, much appreciated. Hard to get info on what I could get without changing the rims/lift.
I had difficulty finding out also so this is why I thought I would post a vid to try and help others
285/65/R18 also works i have it on by gwm p-series LT,LS and SX
@@martinbrand7514 that’s awesome mate thanks for sharing do you get any rubbing anywhere? What brand of tyre did you choose?
@ only if I go off-road and the mud starts building up behind the soft plastic🤣🤣.
@ Renegade
@@martinbrand7514 the renegade tyres looked good. Have heard good things about them
@@Cratesfamilyadventures I did about 60000km on them 90% of that was with a 3.5t trailer on the back in rough the rain.
Nice, I thought the standard tyre for GWM ute is 265/60/R18 from factory, so going up the next size should be 265/65/R18?
Yep you are correct this is another size up again but is still legal in qld not sure on other states though
@@CratesfamilyadventuresThanks for the reply mate, question would a 265/70/R18 fit?
Hmmm not to sure I think you may struggle because it would be a bit taller and would hit the body mounts at a guess. With the body mount chop I think it would fit
Have you noticed any change in driveability? Power loss?
Nope seems to drive basically the same nice on road haven’t had a chance to go off-road yet
Thanks mate!

Did you ever check on the adaptive cruise control? Does it still work?
Sorry I haven’t yet but I did check the speedo and it’s way more accurate now

Hmmm interesting I don’t actually ever use the cruise control so it isn’t a issue for me I will have to check it out cheers
