I've been going there to town topic ever since Claude Sparks ran it when I was a kid. He was a kind man. He really took care of his employees too. When mom and I went to his office to talk to him about something (she was a manager back then) I'd sit on his lap when i was little and he'd give me $5 out of his wallet and a Hershey bar out of his desk at his office at 19th and Baltimore. ❤
All the BBQ suggestions are amazing. Q39 is pricy. Slaps runs out of entrees at times as they only serve fresh smoked meats. PigWich was a great surprise. Il Lazzarone was unimpressive to me, but it has fans. Try Garazzo's for Italian.

As a KC resident, I’ve been to many bbq joints. Slaps is hands down my favorite.
Harry’s in Westport is a great spot! Gumbo, red beans and rice and the black bean quesadilla are my faves

Slap's is a dominate force on the comp BBQ scene. I've been to many comps where he just cleans house on all 4 categories.
J. Gilbert's in Overland Park is awesome. A bit on the pricy side, but worth every cent. the maple-plank roasted salmon is to die for!
Amazing steak, one of my favorite places. Like you said, pricey but worth it imo
Are Winsteads and Arthur Bryants still around?
Yes.
Town topic gotta be higher it’s the late night move
Great list. You picked the best bbq ones too imo
Flea Market for a good burger.
Town topic and q39 are the only ones I bother with on this list
Joes is the best
Jack Stack BBQ is the best.
I agree.
For lunch, a mini Jumbo brisket sandwich, BBQ baked beans, and fries. A stack of 6 onion rings as an appetizer for two.
Wrong
Um...how long have you lived there ...2 weeks? Only Joes and Town Topic are old KC classics
Town topic is terribly overpriced
A wee bit upscale and BBQ oriented, but you did have Town Topic. You really should have included Grinder's though.
Bbq oriented? Its KC lol
DO YOURSETLVES A FAVOR.... GO CHICKEN GO!!!!! GIZZARDS & G-SAUCE!!!!
Mesob definitely should have been on that list
Antler Room? Town and Company? Fox and Pearl? Affare? Waldo Thai?
Mickeys hideaway was great but already gone now
Gates and haze
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see on Viewcation?

List is mid; too much BBQ, lots of other great grub around
You’re mid. Too much bbq? It’s KC lol. He listed non bbq restaurants in the 2nd half of the video
