I don't know if you are doing this deliberately, but for me having the hierarchical tags add-on makes it so much easier to see the organization of the tags, especially with the Anking deck which has an awesome tagging system. Then suspending all cards first and unsuspending as you go.
Good point! I definitely do that as well, but this method allows me to add my own cards to a specific topic as well, which is nice! Also, there are a LOT of tags in the deck, which is GREAT but can also be tough to know what you've gone over and what you haven't. So this just add an additional layer of security of "ohhh, I've hit this before and I can make my own cards on this topic as well as using what's already there."
@@PrerakJuthani wow awesome, that is a great point. Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean to sound rude in my previous comment :)) I really am thankful for all the videos you have shared regarding anki and medschool in general :))
Hey guys! Please help someone. Im having a huge problem with my ankicards. I hope there is beautiful soul that can help me. When I do voice record on my Anki cards it repeat it self. Ex On the question side I have the audio asking the question then when I enter for the answer the question voice first repeat it self before the answer voice record.
Duke's is my absolute favorite. Integrates stuff beautifully. Amazing for long term retention. Helps in UW. I personally just add whatever info is missing AND add cards which aren't in Dukes from Zanki ( a few things aren't covered!) P.S. Doing those 89 cards is way harder than doing like 300 cards of Zanki :P P.S.S : Thanks for these vids man. Ik a decent bit about Anki but always end up finding something useful from your vids :)
Hey, I decided to try out Duke and I really like it as well. Regarding the missing details, how do you decide what's missing or not - do you go through the Zanki cards and review all the concepts that are included in Zanki?
Starting med school in a couple weeks and have been watching all your anki videos! Would you suggest going through these decks simultaneously with my regular material or save them until second year/dedicated study time?
Thank you so much for this video Prerak. I have a question though. Are these Anki cards updated YoY? Just want to make sure that I'm getting all the right and updated data.
Hi, Prerak, thank you so much for your fantastic videos. I’m a fan! Quick question, so you mention how Duke’s deck was more cohesive for covering pathoma, did you ultimately do both the zanki cards and dukes card per pathoma chapter? Or did you mainly ride with Duke’s deck? Personally, I appreciate Zanki’s deck for its coverage but im having trouble tying the factoids together.
please help im lost i want to remove the urls on the bottem that appear in answers of anking v7 example;#AK_Step1_v7::!FLAG_THESE_CARDS::Temporary#AK_Step1_v7::#B&.............this apears and also i have a few more queries please help me guys ive been searching alot, also i want first aid text to appear cant find an add on for that please help, for example im viewing vasculitis but only sketchy in answer i want first aid
I've downloaded the deck then opened my anki and didn't find the file so i downloaded the deck again , but this time from the anki app, do i need to delete one of the decks for more storage ... working from my phone , laptop problems 😷
Thank you for the nice video. When I select all and then I want to move the cards to new group of cards, only 20 will be added. Do you know what my mistake is?
Hey! How did you get the #'s by each subject like you showed in the biochemistry deck. I have the anking as well, but mine doesnt have the #. Is there a special add on to this? I already have the Hierarchical Tags 2. Do i need a different Hierarchical Tag?
thank you very much for your nice explanation. Could you also do the comparison between the question books you used for step 1? for example like what kind of plan you would recommend? Thanks again
Yup definitely use that too. I've just found that sometimes separating it out this way helps me organize my thoughts more. For example, it can be tough to know exactly what tags exist and what tags I've actually "learned" simply because there are so many tags. By doing this, I can just add an additional layer of "oh yeah, I've gone over this before." And, at the very least, you can use the hierarchical tags to guide you and drive those cards over. Not to mention, if you wanted to learn specific cards, you can also use hierarchical tags to create custom study sessions too! Point being, by doing this method, you simply add an additional layer of being able to organize your thoughts + the ability to add your OWN cards to a specific topic all the while still retaining the benefits that come with the hierarchical tagging system.
Hi, Prerak. Is there a way to review my cards in the same order that I added? Its really frustrating to link all the cards together when they're arranged randomly. Also when I go back to a particular deck, many cards don't show up in that session. Why is that and how can I fix this?
Hey idk if you'll see my comment but I'll ask : Do you think USMLE decks like Zanki are usefull for students not studying in the US ? Over here we write all our cards on our own. Not a lot of people use anki because it's so long to create thousands of cards. With a friends we do but we feel like we only create cards, and we have little time left to study them. Do you think these decks can be exported ?
vaov it's very useful and thnx for the video. I just started working with Anki, but sketchy is very contrary to my learning style. Do you have a good deck for microbiology and pharmacology that you can suggest?
Also, do you know how many lightyear cards are in the Anking deck. I would download myself, but won’t have wifi for another week. Thanks for another awesome video!
Hey Prerak, I was wondering if you can do a video on medical specialties, which one you are thinking of, and pros/cons/differences in each specialty. I saw a video from the orthopedic surgeon, youtuber Antonio Webb MD where he said that being a surgeon is more prestigious and respected than a primary care physician and that's one of the reasons why he became an ortho surgeon and I also wanted to know your thoughts on that.
I don't know if you are doing this deliberately, but for me having the hierarchical tags add-on makes it so much easier to see the organization of the tags, especially with the Anking deck which has an awesome tagging system. Then suspending all cards first and unsuspending as you go.

Omg. I can’t describe how much thankful I am when going through your video!!
Hey prerak, I had so much confusion while I was using Anki, you changed the whole game by making a new deck separately, thank you very much
You are awesome prerak, been following since pre-med days, im takin step 1 next year and you're seriously helping me out with these vids!

I can't find the same anking overhauld desk, it seems like it was deleted or updated :(
Prerak Juthani UR the best
I didn't find the link there
Thats an amazing video, thank you so much, it helped a lot lot lot lot
Starting med school in a couple weeks and have been watching all your anki videos! Would you suggest going through these decks simultaneously with my regular material or save them until second year/dedicated study time?
start as from the beginning. just unsuspend alongside lectures
Why would you pull cards into a separate deck when you can just unsuspend them?
Once we make our own deck then does the cards from previous deck are removed?
Thank you so much for this video Prerak. I have a question though.
Are these Anki cards updated YoY? Just want to make sure that I'm getting all the right and updated data.

sorry typo... i mean question banks like uworld, usmle rx and kaplan
My guy how are you not using the hierarchical tags add-on?! Did you use a throw away Anki profile?
Yup definitely use that too. I've just found that sometimes separating it out this way helps me organize my thoughts more. For example, it can be tough to know exactly what tags exist and what tags I've actually "learned" simply because there are so many tags. You you do this instead of making your own cards?
Hi, Prerak. Is there a way to review my cards in the same order that I added? Its really frustrating to link all the cards together when they're arranged randomly.

Can you make a video for step 2?
Where can i find best anki cards for the nclex?
I love lightyear. With step 1 going pass/fail do you think it’s comprehensive enough on its own?
Also, do you know how many lightyear cards are in the Anking deck. I would download myself, but won’t have wifi for another week. Thanks for another awesome video!

This resource is no longer free :(, there is no more anking overhaul.
what anki add ons do you need? or do you just have to download the deck
