I think this just goes to show that you're not necessarily gonna burn out or "peak" and then have lower ROIs after studying for a long time. If you're studying the right way, you won't forget stuff and you'll get keep getting better and better

I failed my USMLE exam 2 times first was 2020 second was 2021 and I lost money on review questions and also wasted a lot of time studying which never helped me .
I've heard that B&B is very comprehensive and I've watched a couple of his cardiology videos as a sort of trial and they were decent. So, I think B&B could build you a decent foundation along with Qbanks.

No, unfortunately, I didn't do active recall back then. I was just reading the books and underlining. Nonetheless, I made sure I understood all the important concepts. I only use active learning when studying for the USMLE (through Qbanks and Anki). I did not use Anki for Uni.

Hello good day. I'm close to 4 months out and I'm studying all over the place. But Im trying to use mainly uworld but I keep getting most of the questions wrong and it's kinda demotivating. I tried using videos and Anki but it feels too overwhelming sometimes. I remembered you saying the exams where alot similar to nbmes do you think I can just study nbmes 20-30 to pass step 1? Naaah I would recommend none to do such a mistake Actual exam was no way close to nbmes It’s atleast 80% uworld qbank styled Many questions get you confused bw two options or twk diagnosis even FA doesn’t help I had such a confusion bw impetigo phemphigous and bullous vulgaris with just a pic given and history they gave was helping at all and there will be a lot more like that Just stay focused try to master uworld kinda learn how uworld presents the question Another big mistake I did was doing Amboss and rx 2weeks out and studying FA last two weeks and had last touched uworld atkeast 3 months out before uni finals but I would recommend what I think would’ve been better atleast prepare the uworld q bank rught ahead of your prep like I Should’ve taken it bfr uni exams and then be done studying FA 2 weeks and do random questions esp wrongs in last weeks and then take uswa2 and free 120 on last day Take uswa 1 ahead eg 2 months out And keep kn taking nbmes months earlier to evaluate if you need to put more effort but again I was told do nbmes do max no of them but didn’t find it much helpful to have wasted early 2nd last week on that and getting depressed “Uworld qbank is most imp thinggggg” Questions are lengthy do work on time management since early cz I thought I would practice it near end and would’ve gotten it but………………. I could’ve hardly a min left to review the marked ones which I couldn’t apparently do in many blocks Plus even if you feel like failing in many blocks don’t panic cz it won’t do any good instead chaos won’t let you focus and will affect the other blocks what you can’t get don’t let that destroy what you can It needs practice I had poor such skills too yup evn on exam day😢

NBMEs 25-30 All are great. My exam was difficult and NBME 25 was the most difficult out of those 6, so I'd recommend you prioritize it. Also, NBME 25 has the least repeated questions. NBME 26 is also great. You could go in order like I did. Try to do them all.
WOW!!! what about new information you overcame during solving questions? did u just read and understand them without taking any notes or doing flashcards ? don't you think taking notes or making flashcards of new information is necessary because if not they will be forgotten?
My foundation at Uni and my understanding of many high-yield concepts from both pathoma and Uni. Maybe test-taking skills is also a factor. Also, the first 2 Qbanks were kinda helpful.

Yes, my content review was basically Anking. Pathoma and SketchyMicro were 1.5 years out and just helped build my foundation. I was in the same boat and thought that I have to memorize every detail in FA, but after I took my exam I felt that I didn't really need it. So no, it's not necessary. And personally, I never got to read it all.

Keep in mind those two may be a bit hard, especially 25 - but my exam difficulty was closest to 25, so I'd recommend doing them.

I'm an IMG, and absolutely you should use the NBMEs! They're the best resource out there and the exam is most similar to them.
What were the resources you used for university that built your foundations that good?
Mainly Uni textbooks and googling stuff I didn't understand. Sometimes guyton and Robbins.

Yes, that's possible but don't forget both NBMEs and AMBOSS cuz they're more important. Also, make sure you're understanding as much as possible.

You haven't mentioned a word about First Aid. Is it a myth that people say it's the "Bible" of Step 1?
It's a great resource for Step 1, but it becomes less important when you do AnKing as it covers most of First Aid.
