If you're looking for a 4-band parametric eq (or maybe even a few channels), give this one a listen...it was not what I was expecting for $199. It's based on the EQ in the MIDAS Heritage 3000 console (used on many live shows back in the day). After spending some time with it my biggest complaint is how tight the space is between the controls, especially the dual concentric dials, but hey, 4 bands fully parametric is a lot to squeeze into a single slot 500 module... Cheers!
There was only one thing that needed to be shown: how narrow a band in the frequency spectrum this equalizer could create. The narrower the frequency band a parametric equalizer can isolate, the better it is. Thaks for video.
This modern Midas gear is top notch, and astounding value for money. 👍🏻 People can whine & frown all they want about the Music Tribe (Behringer) ownership, but if this had been the same identical product by the UK owned Midas the price would have been x 5. PS: it has, IMHO, the typical Midas sound - it's always as if there was a very slight horizontal S curve in the middle of the frequency spectrum, a little warmth bump in the low mids, a slight recess in the high mids. Same with their preamps and analog mixing desks. And it's very pleasing to the ear!
Well said. Takes me back to working on an H3000 years ago…I felt right at home with this eq. I can hear the s curve and I did measure it to confirm. The Midas sound lives on! Cheers!
I am looking for some type of reasonably priced EQ for a hardware mastering chain. Ideally it would be Pultec style. 😀 Do you think this would be good gor that purpose or what else would you recommend that won't break the bank. Thanks ahead of time!

What if I’m using for a high gain amp for metal application?
First!
