Hey Tedward, been watching your content since 50k, but just wanted to say that in addition to the strictly car related videos, I love the other vlog videos as well. Your take on driving laws in America and driver etiquette I find insightful. Most of all, the few videos you have discussing mental health have been super great for me. Whether you realize it or not, it takes courage to talk about that kind of thing in front of thousands and I want you to know that it helped me. Keep up the great videos, man!
The last of pure luxury, “adequate speed.” Not a performance car in a normal sense. The Azure is the ultimate solid Grand Tourer. You can cruise at 70-ish with so much room. The interior is pure hunting lodge and the seats are great grippy recliners. It’s the best or-nothing.
To me, the Azure is driver's car in a different way. By no means a speed demon or aggressively luxurious, but definitely a great place to be with a good bit of power under the hood. Great vid Tedward, have a nice day man
I’m new to this channel and am so thankfulI found it. I believe your POV’s and reviews are the best on YT. Thanks for the superb, incredibly bright content! 🍸
Well done. A wealthy friend who knew almost nothing about cars was walking past a Bentley showroom in London, liked what he saw, stepped in and bought one. When he took delivery here in the US, the car was out of line and the tires weren't balanced properly. There was also an obvious flaw in the upholstery. Anyhow, he invited me to drive it. I had driven only one other Bentley, a James Young S1 LWB. The exterior was absolutely gorgeous. The interior was somewhat cramped. The ergonomics were poor but the styling was, to me, very appealing. On driving it, the power was almost overwhelming and the suspension incapable of handling it. There was no anti-dive geometry, the steering much too light, road shock absorption was poor, swaying and yawing were pronounced, etc. It was a primitive car. Well, my friend's ownership experience was what one would expect. He said it was in the shop far more than on the road. After a year or two, he sold it to the first buyer foolish enough to even consider owning one. It's not a matter of money or "maintenance requirements". It's about the inconvenience of repeated random failures. Life is too short.
Honestly what I like with that kind of cars, even if you want to be agressive because you had a rough day let's say, there is that gentle British butler voice over your shoulder that may suggest sir that this beautifully handcrafted vehicle might reward you better with softer and gentler inputs on the commands. In the end, instead of tightening a 4 points harness as tight as you can so you can brake the latest, you leave some slack, sit comfortably, and enjoy the monster torque and creamy feel embraced with leather and wood. I even drive slower sometimes, just for the extra minutes of experience ahah
Loved your video. With these old-school vehicles you either understand them or you do not. Every thing you mentioned is true a bout these cars. I my self own the non-turbo Bentley Brooklands , a 1995 model, some might say a Rolls-Royce in disguise, but any way enjoy driving it as a weekend vehicle very much, always makes me feel special, and other people I take for a drive with me. Happy motoring...
Great video as usual. I'm up to the part where you discuss the rear suspension noise...the problem with "baby cars" is that while yes, it is low mileage and has had minimal mechanical wear and tear, other items like seals, bushings, rubber dampers etc are likely done.
Got to buy now before the prices go through the roof! The 2007+ Brooklands coupe is also going to increase since they built so few of them. Fabulous cars. Super video review. Big thanks!
My late father had a Bentley S3 saloon for a time, which I drove on a number of occasions. Although not an Azure of course there are many constants. If I could sum up the driving experience, it was simply just a remarkably civilised car to drive. I get the same impression from this driver, in his video clip.
I'd have this over a new 8 series convertible any day of the week. Then again, I already get under 10MPG on my V8 Lincoln LS, so this might be one of those "Don't meet your heroes" type of scenario.
Tedward is really a brilliant commentator. He carouses us with this Bentley as if it's his wife! And with a $200K handbuilt car I would imagine that's how it should be.
Thank god no touch screen ! I myself is a person who loves driving cars and I do not need to bring the office computer or lounge room TV with 24/7 ! I do have a 10 inch screen in my SS VY 2004 V8 350 Ute only for Spotify ! If I am not listening to Spotify I just switch off the screen as I do not want any screen distractions, which will take my eyes off the road ! I just like old school driving, peace and quiet (except when listening to my 350 V8 :)
These and the sister car, the Brooklands, are going crazy on values right now. The Azure used to be such a relative bargain, but like everything else in the market its shot up.
Hahaha oh man your comment at the end. I get looks when I drive my Mondeo and I'm just wearing my jeans and a t-shirt. When I'm in my office getup (loud and colorful button up shirt, jacket and slacks) nobody looks because suddenly I'm the accomplished businessman. But man, when I'm wearing a band shirt woooo boy. I must be in daddy's car.
I wish the steering wheel and upper dash matched the rest of the interior. I’ve always HATED the "contrast look". Did I say I wanted tan or tan mixed with black and gray?
Bentley Azure is great, it's a pretty rare model in Japan. However, the problem is with the seat leather, which tends to loosen, which is a shame. However, I personally prefer the 2006 second generation model or the 1995 first generation model, rather than the current model.
12:29 that's what its all about isn't it? blasting the peasants out of the way with your limitless reserves of torque, cause you can afford it! beautiful dash, with the one exception of that horrible V6 Mustang steering wheel
They used to look like a farm tractor's from the 1930's. The huge diameter was needed for the mechanical steering gear but retained into the PS age. Why? Probably cheap from their supplier.
Pretentious douchebag is the image it gives off for most people. For the price i'm really not impressed. Expected it to handle the rough pavement much better than that.
I must say, deeply disheartening suspension annoyance, motoring over the lanes divots..Completely utterly, shatters the other wise luxurious motoring experience...The queen was not amused.. Pip pip cheerio, and all that, say what?
Honestly, if you're rich enough and don't care about depreciation, you can daily anything
True, the only limiting factor may be reliability..

The chrome wheels, brown leather interior looks tremendously great & what a dream to get to drive this Azure!😎👍
This looks like a Bentley should look. Much better than the things they make now. It's classy, not gaudy or overstated.

Treating that car like a yacht is the best way to drive it. It's basically a diesel engine at that point, especially with the torque.

One of the last real Bentleys. Those have always been gorgeous.

Imagine this at full speed!
Very relaxing 😌
This thing was just not designed for racing but to flaunt your wealth on sunny boulevards...
the inside looks so nice and luxurious. id even say it looks better than in the new RR Wraith.

Oh my gosh i love this car and the interior men 😍
This is such a beautiful piece of machinery 👐🏽
What a classic beauty the Bentley is!
Would be great if someone would lend you the keys to a Brooklands...would love to see how that compares to the much more sedate Azure.
You know what this means right? You influenced the price of Bentley Azures with your previous video and all the insta posts!
What a dream car, lovely review. Wish it had a W12, however it wafts along like there is a W12 under the hood anyway.

Thank you for the video, Appreciate your hardwork and thinking of great ideas!

Tweed would absolutely be on brand for this car. You know what you have to do. Time to go thrifting in the Azure!

Gorgeous design!

Last of the pure ones!
4:22 you mean moving a yacht** lol 😂😅
that car is so beautiful
I like that interior soo much
A POV of a Mercedes sprinter 4x4 would be cool and different
Part of the not perfect ride is those borderline donk sized rims on it 😂 looks pretty cool but doesn't give it that Bentley ride quality

Hey Tedward, please try to get your hands on a renault twizy sometimes! I dont know if they were imported to the us? would be really interesting!

So you posted about the azure and they sky rocketed in value
Could you maybe post about a dodge dart? lmao
As much as i love the Azure I really couldn't handle that thumping clunking suspension 👀🤷♂️
You shouldn't have to, of course. But the car comes with rose-tinted glasses.
Is this the model with the endlessly leaking hydraulic system and near unfixable fuel injection system?
Good u should buy it
Such a classy car👍
I’m surprised the centre of the steering wheel is not colour matched to the interior 🤔
It’s matched to the dashboard
@@TedwardDrives I’m not complaining, I’d be happy with a sniff of the fine leather and beautiful woodwork!
