Love watching your progress! Sometimes I scream "Good Job Folks!" Sometimes I scream "NOOOOO! Don't do that!" But overall you're doing a great job. Love the focus on repurposing!
@@TempleGuitars It's a commune not a construction company. Who gives a rats ass if you can see screw heads on a recycled door on a fridge truck conversion? Get real. With the resources at hand it's still craftsmanship. See how you fare without a parts warehouse.
yah, this was a good one. I haven't watched a whole video from them in the past few weeks. I don't know what it is but this was different, in a good way.
@@HenryKlausEsq. It doesn't take a parts warehouse to recess screw heads and plug them. Also, words have meanings. And "craftsmanship" relates to a minimum standard of ability. That minimum standard is missing here, regardless of how upset you may be about that fact being pointed out. So in the words of an absolute dickhead I encountered once on the internet- "Get real".
I love the close ups of the detailed work that is being done on the door. Thank you for the effort in getting these shots and all the editing to make it happen!
before this EPS, i always wondered why a proper door is so expensive, my brain has the misconception that is just 1 slab of wood with holes and a lock, and just slap it in a bigger hole in the house. This misconception mainly because of video games I've played... now i see just how much work it takes to build 1 door. Good job.
Big difference between a proper old school panel door or a modern inside door that's just 2 thin sheets of particle board with some surface film and the minimum structure inside to hold the sheets apart
The contrast between the ancient luxury door and the horrendous fridge box is so funny ! When the door is closed, it alsmost looks like a painted trompe-l'oeil. Ahah!
I’m always amazed how many of the right tools for the various things you take on! You also have a wide range of skills amongst the people in the community to lead the duties! Well done.
So many of my favorite things in one update: restoring old things to be useful, the streets providing materials, project Kamp, what more could one ask for?
I just smile when I see you fixing this amazing door. I used to restore furniture. I would love to have a door like that. Lucky you. You did a fabulous job. I love your own program.
Great work, guys. The mahogany door is beautiful. Message for Till: The handle on the grinder has two positions and the blade guard can be positioned anywhere to allow for left or right-handed use. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. Peace. 🧔👍✌
Love watching you guys taking the time and patience to do your very best at everything you do, keep up with the good work and research its very inspiring 🇩🇴
I'm so happy to see the increasing number of highly skilled craftsmen as well as the proper tools, both modern power tools and quality hand tools! Great job all around!
So satisfying seeing old wood repurposed. Best of all, so much wood in bad shape is just burnt, the coatings and paints on them adding to air pollution. This way avoids a lot of that. Just remember if using the sawdust from the refurbish, that it too will contain the chemical finishes on the old wood. I was happy to see the guys using air filters and gloves when working with the fiberglass. Great work!
@@thinkinginsideout4053 Because how they do it... man philipines we understand these people are from rich european countries but failing baic safeties etc
You guys are brilliant. You seem to know how everything goes together!! When you consider the millions of things people build, taking them apart ( without utterly destroying them) is just remarkable!
We really do toss out so much stuff. For like yhe last 10 years, I've been trying to repurpose as much as I can, personally. 10 years ago I worked close to an area that was a landfill garbage dump owned by waste management. It was a valley in the middle of several steep hills of woods. Once the heap became taller, then the hills around it and kept growing daily. It really got to me, maybe I became woke to it, if you will. Since I've been trying not to be so wasteful. Just going to Dunkin Doughnuts for 2 coffees and 6 doughnuts produced so much garbage. ❤❤❤
Looks great, nicely done. Instead of using silicon you could use putty, it's a lot easier to paint over. You can make it yourself with fine chalk powder (whitening) and linseed oil. Using boiled oil will make it cure faster, raw will leave it flexible for longer. You can make it thick or thin to run into gaps.
If you heat mimosa logs with steam and then compress them using a press you could get REALLY strong wood for lots of structures! You could even put pieces at 90 degree angles to add even more strength and that way you could build lots of houses for Kampers for almost free!
Nice job upcyclng, I'd say there will lots more fly tipping/dumping waste along roadsides especially when nature comes back after the fires/damage, It would be an excellent free service example to provide free roadside recycling of specific useful materials/wood/timber/plastic/metal for crafts and local project kamp marketing & local eco/upcycling courses!

That door came out beautifully! Hard work, knowledge, and some TLC went into making it, but who wouldn't love that finished product!!! Awesome job! 🥰
One of the most satisfying episodes so far. Great craftsmanship. Good example of reusing existing materials. Bravo. 👏👏🇨🇦
Craftsmanship? There are exposed screw heads everywhere. Rough as guts.

alot more work with the door than one might imagen. love the "shabby cheek" at the end :D
Question for Q&A: have you thought about making Geodesic Dome structures out of mimosas? You could use them as living spaces.
Tip, paint the new hardware/screws with the same black spray, it really makes a difference in the final look
