I hope for a change of heart in domi’s decision or a miracle surgery or recovery because his decision leaves a massive void in my life and in tennis generally because the sport needs him so much to be around if not as an elite player then as a role model and ambassador who fights and shows the right values on the court. Although its highly unlikely at this point but all the best to him for the next chapter. Ahh😣

Muss aber ein paar ehrliche Worte loswerden…
Ich fand das nämlich grad echt sehr schwierig fertig anzuschauen. Dieses Gespräch
zeigt gefühlt sehr deutlich warum auch der Erfolg der da war, wahrscheinlich sehr zufällig passiert ist und nicht auf Dauer zu halten war. Ich sehe mit Dominic und Moritz zwei noch Teenager mit ihrem Papa ein völlig emotionsloses Gespräch führen, vor allem wenn man bedenkt dass es hier um den Rückblick einer sehr erfolgreichen Karriere geht.🤯

In diesem Umfeld, muss man sagen, dass aus Dominic das bestmögliche rausgeholt wurde, so fühlt sich das an. Finde er hätte sich in allen Bereichen ganz sicher mehr Professionalität verdient!
Dominic, du bist ein ganz ein lieber Mensch und ich wünsche dir auf deinem weiteren Weg alles alles Liebe und dass du dich auch zu einer echten und selbstständigen Persönlichkeit entwickelst!💙

Domi wirklich mutige und tolle Entscheidung. Du bist niemanden außer dir selbst etwas schuldig und abgesehen davon hast du uns so viel gegeben. Ich hoffe, dass du im nächsten Abschnitt deines Lebens genau gleich viel Freude erfährst, aber auch, dass du das ganze jetzt etwas ruhiger und gemütlicher angehen kannst.

Ich bin überrascht, dass man plötzlich Bresnik namentlich erwähnt und seinen Anteil an den Erfolgen eingesteht. Bravo, das gefällt mir und war mehr als überfällig.

In general, it is quite clear why such a format was chosen for this part (especially with your brother sitting there) on the other hand, in addition to showing the emotional and human side of Dominic in his days as a professional tennis player, it emphasizes (perhaps even excessively) the lack of a professional environment at the highest level around a player who claims to be a professional athlete, and quite gives an explanation to the fact, why the success in advance had no chance to last for a long time, regardless of an injury of one kind or another.
Thank you for this video Dominic. I can’t imagine how complicated it must have been for you to take this decision. Although I always selfishly hoped that you would never stop your career in order to forever see this beautiful one-handed backhand, deep down I feel that you needed one thing: to take a break in this pretty but very challenging battle. Your career is simply exceptional, the world of tennis will never forget you. I hope you feel relieved now. Enjoy the next chapter at the fullest 👍🏼

einerseits erstaunlich wie sachlich man solche erfolge besprechen kann - anderseits auch total komisch. diese einstellung des vaters hat ihm bestimmt geholfen am boden der tatsachen zu bleiben, trotzdem hätte ich mir etwas mehr euphorie und begeisterung des vaters erwünscht. hier wird geredet als hätte der sohn in mathe ne 3 nach hause gebracht.
Danke für die wunderschönen Momente, die du mir als dein Fan jahrelang beschert hast. Deine Matches bei den größten Turnieren gegen die größten Spieler bleiben unvergesslich für mich.

The little I could take from the UA-cam-generated English subs, it seems clear that it has been an up and down journey, and the US Open final was more stressful than joyful for you (ironic because you did win it, in contrast to the other GS finals you played). I look forward to watching part 2 and better understand what really goes through the mind of an amazing player and person as you (hopefully it'll help me make my own tennis better).

I have to think that you weren’t able to make the come back because of the girlfriend and having retirement in the back of your mind the whole time. You didn’t seem to want it badly enough after the US Open win and before the wrist injury. Perhaps the wrist was only a minor issue that could have been overcome?

Finde es extrem schade für einen Weltklassesportler, dass ein Abschied derart dilettantisch verhunzt wird! Der Herr „Manager“ hat hier ganz schlechte Arbeit geleistet.
