How often do you have to charge it?
@@professor_xmann it says six months but probably need to charger it more frequently than that
I’m sold. Thank you for this!!!
You're welcome!
Btw roku teamed up with Wyze for this the only difference is it won’t connect to the wyze app and the other way around wyze doorbell dosent connect to the roku app!
I currently live in a group home and is currently working on getting my first house in my 20s and I’ve seen these video doorbells and this doorbell is right for me the Roku doorbell makes me feel safer and it’s really reliable thank you for sharing this information 😅
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for the video. I’ve been with Ring for 4 years and I’m ditching it tomorrow and getting me a Roku doorbell. My Ring is horrible. 2 nd generation .
What's the problem with ring?
We got the whole entire roku system and pay $20 for both home security and live cameras and live agent monitoring dam good deal imo
Roku cameras are just as bad if not maybe even worse.
Why buy cameras like these when there’s better options out there that don’t suck money out of you in subscription fees?
I am not very Tech Savvy and thought there should be a way to make it record video longer, and also didnt understand why it would pick up a car parking but not the person in the car coming to the door and opening it- You helped me figure out the settings Thank you so much!
How do you connect RK doorbell to your Roku TV?
What is the delay time between button press and notification for app
Buying mine tomorrow at Walmart if still have any...
Probably will. I have a link to buy it in the description field.
Does it have color night vision
How do u put it back on person it's stop recording because it's not on person
Can i set up one roku doorbell camera on 2 phones
Bro I just wanted to see how you hook it up outside the house
Great video. I might just get one since I can follow this really well. Thanks.
Thanks!
The battery?
Can you view the live view continuously? I have a Ring doorbell that times out after about 10 minutes, forcing me to click on reconnect to continue watching live view.
I only have it on my phone but ive had it up for hours at times, never been disconnected.
So what happens with the existing doorbell? Do you just place the roku doorbell on top or next to it? I dont want to remove the existing doorbell, will I still see if someone is in front of the door if they don’t press on the roku doorbell but instead use the old doorbell?
Thank you!
@@bddybdz you will be notified if the doorbell sees someone if you pay for the subscription. If you don't pay the person has to push the doorbell for you to be notified. You can keep the current doorbell up.
I'm getting this camera. I also have the security cameras and color bulbs,
Amazing job! Thank you!
Please, how do you add other phones to access the doorbell camera? Because my account isn't signing on other phones?
You'd have to log into your account on other phones. That's the only way.
Well you gave me an idea thanks alot now i can rap my head around this thing but how do you wire. It in the door bell wire
I show some more of the wiring in this video ua-cam.com/video/JjGzHvVhBng/v-deo.html
One more question this is my first video door bell ringer thingy 😂..i notice that I can view live stream but play by play video does that come with a subscription because any time I check a time line when motion is activated it always a picture and sound and ⏸️ button are never highlighted for use so im guessing that feature for play by play ⏯️⏯️ must come with a subscription..
And also to get it to show on your TV is that option free or included in the subscription at first it shows on TV then next thing I know it stopped won't show what so ever.thank you
I'm pretty sure manual video recording is possible without a subscription but automatic video recorded triggered by an event is a subscription.
To get the doorbell to appear on your TV is free.
Ring has a motion detection that will sound on the chime….Does the Roku doorbell have this feature? Or does the chime only sound when someone presses the doorbell?
I don't think Roku has this feature at this time. Notifications for motion appear on your phone which could have a sound. Ask Roku support to verify.
Are the indoor/outdoor cameras the same, worse, or better than the Wyze cameras?
@@BruhHowDidIGetHere the same but work with Roku. Wyze doesn't.
Thanks for your channel! I have learned a lot. I have been looking for detailed information about the Power Saving Mode. Do you have anything about it?
Happy to hear it! I've tried to search for what exactly this mode does but couldn't find any answers. Maybe ask Roku support to see what they say.
So I’m renting a house currently and it seems like you don’t have to use the screws to install it. Is that true? Does it work just fine with just the 3M tape only? Someone who can answer feel free! Looking to buy one soon.
Yeah you can use the tape instead of screws.
I’m having issues no audio
I definitely will subscribe for more content 🎉
Thanks for the support!
Do they have a security mount for the wireless doorbell ?
I don't think roku it's self does, but they have security mounts from other companies you can buy from like Amazon. They're size adjustable .
Like a day or so?
I used the included tape to install it by my door and now it needs to be recharged. Does anyone know if I will need to completely unstick it to charge, or is there a way to remove the doorbell portion from the base? Thanks!
You shouldn't have to unstick it. The unit should pop off.
is this better then the ring 4 doorbell
Not sure how that's different from any other Ring doorbell. If you have a Roku and want notifications on your TV or simply watch the video feed on your TV then this is the only way to do that.
@DaveWeLike you are talking about ring doorbell that's years old I could understand if you was talking about ring 4
Should have shown how to mount it with the 3m tape
Thanks for the helpful video. Quick question: When someone rings the doorbell and the Roku TV is on one of the HDMI inputs, will the picture pop-up still appear on the screen?
I'm guessing that it will show up even if you switch to HDMI on a Roku TV. Makes sense that it should. The Roku operating system shouldn't shut down just because you switch to HDMI.
Its not seeing the QR code! Why is this stuff so difficult?
Is there a way to set this up so that when someone is on your porch (and didnt ring the doorbell) it automatically alerts you with a sound? At the moment, I am only receiving written notificatons....Thank youi
If you are receiving notifications you should be able to turn the sound on and off with your phone settings. It wouldn't be in the Roku Smart Home app but within the phone notification settings.
Our doorbell camera Roku doorbell camera stop picking up and the little box has connected in inside is flashing it comes up with a error code when we try to look to see who's at the door I don't know how to uninstall and
The box feature is only available if you pay the subscription fee.
do you have a video of installing the wedge plate? Very nice video by the way!
I didn't screw it in but it should be as that simple as that. I just used those velcro stripes as I didn't want to add holes to my house.
@@davewelike is there a way to change the vision field to only what is happening on my porch and excluding the traffic going by? I can do that with the floodlight camera but cant figure out how to narrow the field on the doorbell. Thanks
@@cherie1651 you can adjust the detection zone.
Can you link 2 chimes to 1 doorbell?
I don't think they sell the chime separately just yet. But maybe they will at some point.
In order for a notification to show up in the TV does the button need to be pressed or will it pop up on TV with just motion sensor?
I think right now it's when a person press you get a notification on your TV. All other notifications are on your phone. I'd ask Roku support to verify.
Awesome
When there's a motion or person detection why does my roku tv o roku device get a notification on the tv
Turn that notification off if you don't want it.
I meant to say when there's a person detection why doesn't Roku tv pop up on the TV it only pops on when it's pressed
@@josebetancourt103 yeah I agree. I don't think Roku programmed it that way.
Can you use it with 5G?
So for mine I can talk through my doorbell but I can’t hear anything outside of the camera
You tried turning on the sound in the app next to the microphone?
Can you speak through the Roku remote to communicate with who ever is at the door???
I know this would be a great feature but you can't at the moment. You have to use your smartphone to do that.
How long does the charge last?
6 Months
Cool deal, I was looking for this question and answer , thank u
❤ this video. How do you use the 2 way talking feature?
Through the mobile app. Just turn on the sound and microphone.
So do the live feed work anytime or do you have to subscribe monthly plan..
You can view the live feed at anytime with or without the subscription.
Do you happen to if Roku Smart Home has professional monitoring just as Wyze does?
What's that?
@@davewelikeI'm guessing a service like ADT is what they are asking...
Yes that's what their subscription is. It's with a third party company.
Yes I have a question how much is the monthly subscription through a Roku
$3.99/month per camera for 1-2 cameras
Can i hook it up to two phones
Yes. You simply install the app on as many phones as you want and login to your Roku account.
Mines will go to step 2 on camera and don't record
What happens if my Roku camera isn’t recording anymore just taking pictures
That's normal. That is because the subscription or free trial is over. You have to pay for certain features.
@@davewelike How can I subscribe?
@@Y0UnGL0S23on this page theres a button that says subscribe now. Click on that and it'll let you subscribe www.roku.com/products/smart-home/smart-home-subscription#sh
Can you download videos from the cloud storage
Yeah
How do you change the batteries?
You have to take off the doorbell and charge it.
Can to user phones be hooked up to camera
Yeah there is a mobile app
Thanks for the informative video! Question please...do you have to switch to night mode at night or does it automatically do that? Also, did you have to change your wifi frequency when setting this up? Thanks in advance!
It automatically switches to night mode. You can activate it at anytime as well. I believe this is a 2.4ghz device.
Can I connect to a mobile internet?
Don't know. You might be able too but it's probably better to use a hotspot than just your cell phone.
@@davewelike I got Model
Verizon Orbic Speed Mobile
Hotspot in Black.
and worked pretty good on security camera apps in old iPhones (Alfred cam) but in a doorbell?
I don’t know.
Thanks for your help sir.👍

How much a subscription
$3.99/month
What is the ratings on it from a scale of 1 to 5 just curious to know
I've never used a different doorbell camera so I have nothing to compare it too.
Okay I am looking to get it here in the next couple days so if I have any more questions I'm no I can ask
Mine won't install the firware update. It keeps saying "update failed". I have moved it closer to the router, reset everything, cleared caches & it continuously fails. Can someone help?
Contact Roku support. Also maybe return it and try a different one.
Thanks for your response. I contacted support multiple times, was sent a replacement, had the same problem, contacted support again, they had no more tips, said they were escalating my claim through the engineering department. So basically, they have no solution.
Does night vision automatically turn or is it manually
It can turn on automatically or be manual. Up to you.
Is any drilling in wall required
Not required. You can use the included sticky tape.
I'll pass till USB C connection to charge
Okay you pay that through a Roku right or do you pay that through something else
Correct. You pay through your Roku account and can access that on Roku.com
Can the video be shared to 2 different phones?
Any phone with the app and login details should be able to view it.
Will you get these when your in another location on a different WiFi?
That's the idea. You should be able to check your doorbell video from anywhere as long as the doorbell is connected to the internet.
Trying to factory reset mines.. any ideas...
Plug in your camera if not already powered on
Press and hold the Setup button for 10 seconds
Wait at least 30 seconds for your camera to restart
Can you only record to the cloud? Or does it have an SD card feature?
It's only to the cloud.
@@davewelike thank you, that's very helpful
@@Introvertedtravel you're welcome!
Does it require 2.4hz wifi?
Yes
Look like you miss how to hook your Roku camera to you Roku tv app.
Here's my video on how to do that ua-cam.com/video/U2hiwB1FnPc/v-deo.html
So you have to charge it ?
Yeah or wire it.
How does it stay charged once you install it outside your door?
You have to take the unit off and recharge it.
yes need to know how long does the charge last when its out side
@@mahrvin14701 yes vital importance there
oh scroll down one comment smh
Dave welike does it require wifi to work?
Don't all video doorbells require wifi?
@@davewelikeNo, they do not.
Some companies actually make real security solutions rather than a shameless money grab like Roku does. Even Wyze isn’t as greedy as they are.
Reolink is an example of this. Their wired doorbell has the option of either wireless connectivity or you can use an NVR or DVR with no arm-twisting to be forced into their subscription service. You will never see Roku do this.
why is my firmware update
taking forever??
Is it far from your wifi router?
Can i connect 1 to a roku tv?
Yes.
