Man, I was a teenager in the 80s.... This was played at every school dance... High hair, hair spray and a good power ballad still turns me on to this day!!! I still remember the smell of Aquanet filling the gymnasium😀😀😀
Properly the best rock band to ever come out of Germany 🇩🇪 they could rock hard or make emotional Ballard's like this and Holliday or winds of change. Klaus had great vocal talent.🤟👍
@@theresapaez513 Yeah, I always wonder whether people who say "had" in these cases want fo "future-proof" their answers. ;) But yes, new Scorpions album this year.
A lot of reactors make the mistake of choosing the video version of a song, and most often than not, the song gets edited to death. I'm glad you picked the original version w/ lyrics (which in most cases, is the best way to go).
Scorpions' hard rock songs to check out - 'No one like you' ... 'Rock you like a hurricane' ... 'Rhythm of love' ... 'No pain no gain' ... "I'm leaving you" ... 'Arizona' ... 'Bad boys running wild' ... 'Tease me please me' ... 'Lovedrive' ... 'The Zoo' ... 'Make it real' ... 'Rock believer' 🔥🔥🤘🤘 and Scorpions ballads - 'Wind of change' ... 'Holiday' ... 'Believe in love' ... 'In trance' ... 'Send me an angel' ... 'Woman' ... 'When the smoke is going down' ... 'Humanity'... 'When you came into my life' 🔥🔥
One of the most underrated bands nowadays, but man were they huge. I’m leaving you, no one like you, rock you like a hurricane, blackout, the zoo, animal magnetism. Unless you knew it, you’d never guess these guys are all German
Scorpions are 1 of the longest running rock bands, an original from W. Germany... Thanks for doing the unedited version of 'Still loving you' (the music video is edited) and Matthias Jabs' lead guitar solos really get your attention on this track! 🤘🤘🔥🔥Scorpions music had both the hard rock songs for guys, and soulful ballads that appealed to women. When English rock became popular in W. Germany in the 60's, guitarist Rudolf Schenker formed his own rock n' roll band, the Scorpions in 1965 ... he met another aspiring singer named Klaus Meine and they became friends in separate bands. Rudolf's kid brother Michael Schenker showed promise as a lead guitar player and joined Klaus' band... In the early 70's, Klaus Meine joined the Scorpions as the vocalist and Michael Schenker as the lead guitarist. They felt singing in English (despite not being their native language) would give them more appeal. They got a chance to record w/ a German label and recorded a 'space rock' debut album 'Lonesome crow' in 1972, inspired by Jimi Hendrix... In 1973, Michael Schenker left to join the U.K. hard rock band U.F.O. and made a name for himself. Despite the band's split, Klaus Meine & Rudolf Schenker reformed the Scorpions in 1974 w/ lead guitarist Ulrich Roth (now Uli Jon Roth) and recorded a string of rock albums in the 70's, but could only tour Europe. By 1978, Roth announced he was leaving the Scorpions after the band's first tour of Japan... Michael Schenker briefly returned in 1979, only to quit once again... Matthias Jabs (lead guitar) officially joined the Scorpions in '79 w/ Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Francis Buccholz (bass) & Herman Rarebell (drums) and finally scored a gold-selling record in the US w/ 'Lovedrive' that year. Scorpions secured a platinum record (1 million copies sold) in the US in 1980 - 'Animal magnetism' ...but in 1981, the band was forced to take a year off after Klaus was diagnosed w/ vocal polyps. After surgery and months of recovery, Klaus returned to the studio in 1982 and delivered the 'Blackout' album that was another platinum hit... 'Love at first sting' was their biggest album in 1984, selling 3 million copies in the US... Scorpions played everywhere they could around the world - N. and S. America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In 1988, Scorpions were touring for the album 'Savage Amusement' when they got the chance to play Russia, a country that had once banned rock music... The experience touring the USSR in the late 80's inspired the next album 'Crazy world' in 1990, which sold 2 million copies in the US and scored a massive hit ballad 'Wind of change'. However, the 90's decade was not welcoming Scorpions' brand of hard rock... Francis Buccholz (bass) quit in '92, Herman Rarebell (drums) left in '95... Klaus, Rudolf & Matthias kept the Scorpions recording & touring into the 90's, despite their declining popularity. After 2000, the band had American drummer James Kottak and Polish bassist Pawel Maciwoda... the Scorpions surged in popularity once again after 2007 and wanted to end their career after the album 'Sting of the tail' in 2010, but the band had renewed popularity and opted to carry on after 2014... In 2016, Mikkey Dee (drums) replaced James Kottak and the band has a new album 'Rock believer' due out in 2022.
Scorpions is great talent and songwriting across the board. One of the great vocalist and soloists you'll find and you can listen to countless of their songs. They have great ballads and then songs that will rock the hair off your arms and everything in-between. If you really want to crush it there is No One Like You, Blackout, The Zoo is a great tweener, or Rock You Like a Hurricane is fun many many others. They recorded their amazing live album Tokyo Tapes in Japan very early in their career because they got busted trying to bring weed into the US and were banned from playing here for a few years. I saw them in Seattle up front on the wall many years ago and it was 2.5 hours of pure energy. I've never been so exhausted. This song stood out just right in my face.
THANK YOU!!!!!❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥 DUDE, I've been a fan of these guys since '78. Seen them in concert 8 times, 3 in the States and 5 in Germany. They ARE The Rock Gods of Germany! Keep reacting to them. They got ALL Kinds of FIRE!😎🤘☕🇺🇲💯
This is my all-time favorite power ballad. I think they just came out with a new song. Here's a story. Back in the olden times, I went to see "Champions on Ice" at Boston Garden. This Russian pairs team I had seen on TV in the recent Olympics, and couldn't stand, was about to skate. And then Gordeeva and Grinkov skated to this. After that I liked them a lot. RIP Sergei Grinkov 🙏🏼
Great Power Ballad. Have an older friend in his 50s who d play this and Rock you like a Hurricane all the time. I knew of them and I have a live video of them doing this song from a few years ago but never really got into them till my friend started really playing their music for me. Much ❤ and appreciation for always giving us great music keep on keeping on .
I'm proud to say I've listened to this song since its infancy. It's always been one of my favorites, and is likely the best power ballad ever recorded. We Generation X'ers were so spoiled with great music. And The Scorpions were a hit machine!
I remember ehen this first came out in 1984 and had the album/cassette. After experiencing a divorce after 23 years the song relates more now than it did then.
This is a hot summer nights driving in the car song. Start it when you leave the house kinda quiet getting out of the neighborhood with the windows up and the A/C on. By the end you are on the highway doing 80 with the windows down and the stereo full blast.
I am 53 years old and the Scorpions and Judas Priests were my top favorite bands when I was 15 and 1983. MTV when they still played music was a major influences on me for appreciating rock and heavy metal.
Nice reaction I was introduced to Heavy Metal by this group and this group is my Fav group in this genre. Can you'll React to Scorpions "The Zoo" & "There's No One Like You" Ty both.
One of the most influential and powerful hard rock/metal bands ever. Gorgeous power ballads and hard driving songs. Huge rabbit hole, more like a cave.
This ballad was one of the most powerful song's who put the heavy metal music up on 80's. For me when I was 15 years old (1984) I saw this lyrics as a story between a lost love of a couple. But in our days I can see it as well as a political song. When back that time was RDA and RFA, so two Germany's divided by a wall, all the lyrics could express the love between the two dived Germany's, wanted to be together. So for me the song "Winds of Change", it's the part II of "Still loving you", after they decide to broke the Berlin Wall and unify the two Germany's in one in 1989. 🤘
Great reaction to a fantastic power ballad and one of the most legendary, emotive songs ever written. Scorpions is one of the very few bands for whom every song released is objectively good. From their foundation in '65 through the 70's, 80's, and 90's, and now again with their new album coming out this Friday in three days, they reign supreme. To suggest a single song would be to exclude so many others, but Winds of Change, No One Like You, Always Somewhere, and Send Me an Angel are some excellent choices, as well as anything from their new album like Shining Of Your Soul, which could very well have been from the late '70's.
Love Scorpions big guy! This is my #1 song. Right behind this is "No One Lie You". Other greats are: "Winds of Change", "When the Smoke is Going Down", "Loving You Sunday Morning" "Big City Nights" and "Bad Boys Running Wild" "Holiday" "Believe In Love" "Rhythm of Love" and "Passion Rules The Game"
incredible song and the guitar is indeed pretty epic. Singers voice is epic as well. Definitely a song you would play to win over your bombshell of a woman if you did something wrong ;)
I was 9 I think when they sang that track, the big hit of the year... That reminds me of party's we did in the afternoons, you dance with the boy you like, shaking... The first feelings of love for a child, innocent and beautiful... I love that song, the voice(s), the guitars... Yes you're right... Thanks for your reaction. Love from France 🇫🇷😘
The live Oakland 84’ concert footage- please check that out- Rock you like a hurricane or anything else; there’s a great instrumental in there too….enjoy! ❤️🎼🎶❤️✅
Best Scorpions album is Taken By Force (1977). It features greats songs like We’ll Burn the Sky, Riot of Your Time, and my personal favorite song Sails of Charon.
I saw them on their North American tour in 1984 right after this album came out. It was one of their all time famous concerts. Their concerts sounded like their albums only better.
Mattias Jabs destroys it at the end. Painkiller-by Judas Priest next. Killer 2 guitar attack and badass drumming , vocals. Bass kills it too. So damn Metal.
I like how y'all enjoy the music on a lot of reaction videos younger people have a tendency to only want the words and music together and anytime there's too much music then it's like this is boring but let me tell you something there's something that can be done during all that time that there's just music between people that love one another or just want to love on one another
Check out some stuff from earlier in their catalog. They've had a bunch of different guitarists over the years. All of them excellent. This song features Rudolf Schenker on the outro. He hardly ever takes leads. His brother Michael overshadowed him in that department. Michael was also in UFO and is a legendary player. But Uli Jon Roth is my favorite Scorpions guitarist. Try Sails of Charon. You will not be disappointed.
This song ROCKS!! I've seen the Scorpions 4 times, in Germany while stationed there in the 80s. They sound just like the studio tracks while live! Is it me or does this guy's girl always just sit there? I mean how can anyone listen to the Scorpions, of all bands, and not bop your head? Somebody wake her up!
I would also recommend Winds of Change, and doing it with the official video, which has a lot of scenes from the period when the Berlin Wall came down and the Cold War ended. It feels especially poignant right now given the war in Ukraine.
Question to all non-germans: Did you can hear, this is no american band? Did you hear an german accent? For me as a german it's impossible to hear a german accent, but i'm interested. So, please let me know. Greetings from Berlin 😎
You nailed it on the part about the guitar standing out man. And that's every scorpions song too 😍 while Klaus has that amazing and unique voice, the guitars still steal the show every time

Also Rock you like a hurricane
"Walking on the Edge" is a very underrated song!
Also can’t forget Dynamite 🧨!
