I am a Cameroonian drummer😊 And we do play makossa a lot...so what I can contribute is this: The pattern played here(in the video) is actually "Seben" Makossa is actually very diverse... sometimes played with exclusively hi-hat + rim clicks (traditional) and sometimes snare + hi-hat. The one played exclusively on the snare has accents on the : 1, a of 1, & of 2, a of 2, & of 3, and 4 Sorry I can't play and send as of now😅 NB: we are counting out 16th notes
Nice lesson,I actually thought it wasn't going to sound nice without loop, that's why I'm still playing seben/makossa with my Hi-hat,it's all good,I will try it.Good one Boss 💯
Okay! I see. The Nigerian Makossa is based on the 3rd phase of Seben. Its actually 3 phases as a whole. There's the 1st for starting a song. 2nd for making the song seem settled. 3rd for Making everything go crazy😅🙌. And mostly thats what Nigerian drummer use. The 3rd phase.

hello brother. please start your video with beat that you are going to teach, so that the rushing audience can be caught up before they live.
