Can you imagine? this is the biggest football tournament in Asia and filled with experienced players from various countries, but Indonesia instead participated using a very young squad with the majority under 23 years old and earned the title of being the youngest squad in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 tournament. I'm sure Indonesia will become the top national football team in Asia in the next 5 - 10 years with this young squad.
In ASEAN Thailand are still way ahead of us, Vietnam though it's like 55:45 for them right now, but we're on the right track with fielding young team here in Asian Cup to give them important experience early on to go against Japan, Iraq, and Vietnam at highest level. Even if we fail to qualify this Asian Cup run would be considered as a success for most Indonesians as the team are punching above their weight.
