I Love Limbus Company But...

- Ever since I heard about the game I couldn't wait to play and review it. That's because I knew it would be special as Project Moon has such love and passion for their world and characters. This game was almost everything I hyped it up to be. The flaws I have are relatively easy to fix (except for the performance bugs on mobile). And if those are fixed then I would consider this game a masterpiece. It is unfortunate though that the steam version is leagues better.

I also like the fact don caused 3 incidents in 3 different chapters all by herself truly one of the limbus moments of all time
Don trying not to stab something (impossible)
Well, Vergilius did fucking scare the shit out of her after that third one and the book doesnt end too well for Don so I cant wait for her to get developed more
Also her gremlin energy is too strong I remember just before the third incident where I was talking to Don like a cat about to drop a bottle to the floor
She is a like having a daughter that will get everyone around her killed while doing shit that is morally right
@@thaumoking9947 We just need to keep Don's hands in freakin handcuffs when we arent in combat, lol
@@skell6134 Nah, She can find the way to cause the trouble, even in handcuffs, Don't forget about 2 out of 2 split out the organization name just because.
@@legioneras4576 Ok
Make Heathcliff hold her
Or better Ishmael since Heathcliff too busy being angry constantly tho
ah yes the classic project moon experience.
make a game with incredibly in-depth, complex, and satisfying mechanics and then proceed to poorly or not even explain any of it
god I love this company
I still have my QoH PTSD when I had to learn about 4-7 different mechanics
lobotomy corp had the excuse that its got scammed in translation, library of ruina wasn't well explained until the game development was completely done, this game just straught up doesn't mention certain mechanics (also im pretty sure paralyze doesn't work)
@@fellowdegenerate6190
I really need to look up the story of what happened with lobotomies original translation
@@mageofvoid4282 TLDR is that they had a college friend (Muang) translating the entire thing into English until they made enough money to hire an actual translation company. The "actual translation company" was a massive scam that had translations worse than Google Translate. Now they've got a couple fan-translators that they hired after they went and cleaned up/helped with Lobotomy Corporation's translation.
My brain try not to devolve back to monkey when watching PM video games tutorial
An additonal detail for the philosophi nerds out there.
Project Moon writing room probably looks like one of the early cafes in the 18th and 19th century because they seem to know more about European (and Asian of course, they are korean after all) literature then most people that come out of an university.
And despite the silly DnD-like shenanigans, these characters feel more like an adaptation and homage then a charicature. Which is freaking rare these days.
Project Moon started off from a university club members making their own game studio
No wonder Project Moon games all have these literature and philosophical motifs
@@CBRN-115 I mean it's paid off
@@CBRN-115 and remember how their first game looks like (Lobotomy Corporation (Legacy Ver.))
I think we need to remember that Project Moon isn't the greatest at releasing games without bugs, but after we get through this rogue period, things will get so much better.
There are so many unfixed bugs in lor
honestly they are better at fixing problems than preventing them in the first place.
@@aisir3725 The fuck you talking about? Finished it with no problems, jesus.
Theyve always had enough spaghetti to rival a italian restraunt
I will say more, there is no one game in PM that releasing without issues and bugs, but they fix it pretty quickly, despite some things (Friking crying children, Red hood and Pluto page as a librarian page (I mean he suck as a late, post end page))
So far the limbus experience has been a perpetual rollercoaster of emotions, through the story and through servers being down on the first day
Their servers exploded
Honestly I got more of an impression of Mersault by the end of chapter 3 than Yi Sang. Mersault has like five lines, true, but whenever he does say something, I can't help but pay attention to it. Dude literally goes "I'm built different" in Chapter 3. Dude acts surprised when you ask him why he didn't point out one of his colleagues was having a panic attack right in front of him because, hey, nobody asked him to tell you.
Well, we know A LOT about Yi Sang after canto 4, and he will probably be more active in conversations now.
The entire group are just your average murderhobos in a DnD game and I love it
Nowadays it's very rare to have a game live up to your expectations. Limbus does have problems but I love the story so much to where the gameplay could've been cookie clicker and I'd still like the game. But I wouldn't be surprised to see my flaws with the game get fixed quickly. But I'm glad we have this game because that means we'll get to see more lore regarding the city.
Imagine thoe, A cookie clicker esque game where you click to kill various entities in the city unlocking lore about them as you kill them.
Have it where you can click items other then the enemies to cause effects (dice and coins lmao)
Your thoughts line up with mine exactly, but the game is definitely up there with gachas ive played, and im sure in due time it'll prove itself to the the apex of gachas. Cant wait to see what they cook up in the future for this universe of absolute lunacy.
I agree this game is way more strategy as the turm by turn rolls do feel rng, using defensive actions for more specific targetting in exchange for a skill atk is a intresting tradeoff though
@@EnderPuff-jz6vz The combat is really intuitive and visually satisfying
I like how those characters choose who they want to deal damage with makes me feel like they’re with me not only me.
People following PM since LCorp or LoR will know that those games came with many bugs and balancing issues of which some are still not fixed to this day, yet the community can see past that due to the incredible story, amazing characters and unique gameplay it provides. Limbussy is the same and even if it has many issues now, they will get resolved rather sooner than later. Your review are my thoughts exactly, a 9/10 that can and most likely will become a 10/10.
Yep how he described every character is accurate
Don is my energy gremlin
And charon is my brain in a nutshell
And vergilius is motivated to beat the shit out of everyone if they dont have the golden weed
The gacha system for Limbus definately seems like they want you to be able to get speciic things you want eventually. which is nice. wish more games had this route.
Also, can't wait for hard mode mirror dungeons
You know, Limbus cast seems like not so stupid in chapter 1. But in chapter 2, they have a huge chance to shine they degeneracy, and of course, they stupidest will come ever further beyond. At least they learning from time to time. At least Don is learning from time to time, I hope least she learning.
I mean if learning means that Vergil Devil may cry 2001 videogame won't step on her then she'd better be not be learning
I love don. She either tops the damage chart against ineffective targets or is at 0 against fatal.
But dear god i want to slap her for her actions.
I do want to point out the surprisingly viable base Sinner they give you. I feel most gatcha you have to get the highest tier characters or they puni- I mean persuade you to get better characters, while here at times the beginning level Sinners are the better pick to their higher counterparts. Shout to base Heathcliff for being damn the best version to use in the final chapter as of now.
Bruh base Outis slaps so fucking hard
And I find LCCB ishmael at uptie 3 just so unbelievably powerful, she clapped all of chap. 3 for me, cause she’s blunt, has good rolls, plenty of coins, inflicts tremor, bursts tremor, inflicts rupture and I forget if it she does fragile as well, and on top of that she has insane longevity for being an ammo user due to her attacks using so little of it.
Arknights, and this might be biased as a player with 2 years, the 3* are extremely balance, like hell, that's why the Low-End strategies exists.
If it doesn't work with the 3*, you can use 4*.
And if you need just a tiny bit of damage,a 6* support but is not an obligation since welp, the game can be completely done with 3* and 4*
@@friendist9323 LCCB Ishmael + Zwei Sinclair slaps for chapter 3 if you don’t have R Corp Ishmael or are just damned tired of using her, like I was
@@DawnPetrichor1 nice!
Max Uptie R Corp Heathcliff is crazy, I say.
Yes, bullet mismanagement might make Heathcliff become a random maniac with a knife, but Quick Suppression is a guaranteed "f*** both humans and Abnos" skill. Potential of 23 Power value, 5 hits and potential of 5 Ruptures on perfect clashes wins.
If anything can bulldoze through bosses and Abnormalities, it's R Corp Heathcliff
Honestly, my thoughts exactly. Maybe they could add like an “expert mode” option that allows you to choose your attacks manually in generic battles. The only real strategy I have found for generic battles is using defense skills to skip bad rolls. For example, if you have 2 hopeless clash options, you can use a defense skill to skip that attack slot allowing you to choose a more favorable skill. I still think the abno fights are so much better, The Chapter 3 optional boss and the main boss really made me use my brain.

2:11 - 3:16 Well that's a pretty accurate way to describe the characters.
The reason why I love limbus just like lobotomy and ruina is because like how you say my friend group is 50% brain rot 50% psychopaths
I love this game. It gave the push to finally play the other PM stuff and I'm having a great time with all of them.
So far it really feels little like a gacha and more like just a good rpg that veeeery vaguely incentivizes you to play regularly. Like there's too much to grind for with free ids and egos but at the same time not enough reward for daily play without ways to farm lunacy or some other stuff. Mirror Dungeons get old kinda fast. I'm hyped for more and harder content tho.
if you only waited 3 weeks to do this video, now the Amiya intro is literally canon.
This game is one of the three gacha games whose story intrigued from the very start.
Most of the time i have no interest in the story and just skipped the scenes but read them later on and gets interested in the lore.
But this game's story hooked me from the start
It's even better if you're played the 2 games before it
The people fights are made so that you are forced to take defensive actions on losing clashes so the enemy attack goes to the slowest ally (which is usually your tank). It also allows the 12 action bar per turn instead of the 1 per character in abnormality fights. I actually like the people fights, once you know how to quickly generate ego from the increased action bar and when to take defensive actions, its a lot more fun.
Imma try this then. I do use defensive actions but most of the times they had no effect almost.
A specific thing about them is that stagered characters get atacked first so sometimes your characters atack the stagered guys and you only have the last characters that are actually allowed to clash the guys on the back but however if you kill the stagered guys you get free hits in the guys in the back so you can strategise staggering them before the clashes even come
@@handyboy4178 for anyone reading this onwards, this has changed due to a balance change where staggered chars can now roll their speed as per usual and as such can now self shield themselves out of harms way essentially since lowest speed chars get attacked first.
As soon as he says im gonna call the buss limbussy. he calls it the magic school I BURST OUT LAUGHING LOL
1. I agree that giving control to player would be better but I don't really have much problem with current system cause the clash order can be slightly manipulate with defensive action and I kinda like something like Fishmael EGO target the backline first or mersalt(I forgot his actual name) EGO self inflict bind put him in the frontline for taking hit
2. I don't have any problem on mobile (except weekly tab bug that was fixed) and I don't know why. It run fine and have no performance issue so I don't think I can talk about this problem much
3. For mirror dungeon personally I don't mine the long run but I see your point that mirror run get boring fast but keep in mine the current state is that you gain 3 battlepass exp for every full run so just adding a way to finish faster might completely screw the battlepass system so I'm not sure about the solution you suggest.
4.the only time I have problem with small UI on mobile is abno battle maybe because I'm used to small UI
5.yeah we definitely need Lunacy farming other than event
3. yea I didn't even think about that. They could make it so the weekly runs are able to go by with sweep but you must manually farm beyond that.
they're adding a way to farm lunacy btw :-) theyre adding a second dungeon for exp tickets+thread i think, and mirror dungeons will give more rewards + lunacy
Goddamit I type "mind" wrong that many time huh
The Limbus Twab joke went hard 💀
Your OST background choice has me SHOOK. Are you literally me?
Ständchen…
I bought 2 of their previous games(and their merch as well) but Limbus is my actual playing of the game
The gameplay isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I absolutely love their game universe, character designs, lore and the literature and philosophical motifs.
Fun fact: Vergilius' VA is the Korean Johnny Silverhand and Geralt of Rivia
One thing I wished was different was being able to get Abnormality EGOs from the main story dungeons. I know that it's a Gacha game which needs something people want to spend money on (the pulls are basically 'reflections' from alt realities), the Sinners technically already have their personal EGOs/Psychoments, and we do get temporary 'EGO Gifts' from the dungeons.
But I think the main story dungeons would be more worthwhile if we can beat the Abnormalities a certain amount of times (Like maxing Observation) to get their respective EGOs, or maybe farm materials to get them in the future.
Other then that, I have no issue. The game's great!
P.S. You forgot to mention that Dante gets tortured everytime he uses his revival ability, which sucks when the Sinners are either killing each other or getting into fights with nearly everyone else.
Free battle pass rewards actually include main story EGOs for Gregor and Rodion as well as some other EGOs
Meursault speaking up thrice in entire game is a very Meursault thing
I understand the gripes with human fights. Guido's final fight really hit that project moon "the difficulty spike is directly vertical" feel.
The entirety of Ch3 screams "Project Moon vertical difficulty spike moment"
Also i was severely underleveled when i finished that chapter by sheer will. Like, lv 17-20 underleveled
I think a good fix for the humanoid battles is some kind of special redirect that any character can do only one time per turn. This could help with the redirect problem and also not allow you to solo a battle with a maxed out character. Mirror dungeons surely are tiring, maybe they could make a sweep function, or make every battle an abnormality minion battle, but I don't know how much that would add to the fun. And yeah, I play on Android right now, and with a device that at least runs Genshin Impact, i get crashes constantly while using EGO.
What makes me happy is that none of those are fundamental flaws, they can be changed for the better without much problem, and PJMoon already looks like they are gonna do it. They have been great with gacha and compensations, I think we could receive a bit more lunacy, which is something they already are going to help with in a few updates, and the combat and strategizing is awesome. The community was kinda mad in the begging, because people didn't understand the mechanics and probably didn't play Library of Ruina, but i think people are generally getting it now, so that's cool.
Really loving the game, just hope the performance and bug issues are fixed rapidly. I'm very satisfied with the game tho, will surely continue to play it.
"Faust talks like an ai made to make you feel stupid" hmmmmm this reminds me of someone who also has that same white hair

I’m definitely in the minority here but I feel like I don’t mind the automatic human fights? I think not having the agency to target who you want adds a twist to the strategy, forcing you to make more compromises and think more about your team composition going in to the battle.
and unlike abno battle, if the initial target dies in people battles, your sinners automatically targets the next slowest target so i don't have to worry about missed turns when i miscalculated my damage.
I'm just waiting for the mobile version to have less bugs and smoother gameplay. Once that's fixed, I can happily dive into the game.
bro i just cant believe you have tingtang hong lu dood,im so freaking jealous
Thank you for you video. I struggled while playing, 'cause I could check the stats and skill sets of my sinners only on battlefield. Gotta say this is an interesting way to go with a Divine Comedy inspired story. Makes me wonder if we will get to see purgatory and paradise.
I think the way the clashing works is to incentivise the use of blocks, evades and counter-attack.
Nice review and I agree with points presented! After over 60 hours of playing Limbus I love it. It has issues, but previous titles also had a lot of issues when it first released only to be polished during development. Including removing some features or completely changing them, so same can happen here with human fights.
I have a very weird relationship with Limbus' people fights. On one hand, from a purely design perspective, I kinda get that they wanted to make them feel different than the Abno fights.
Also I do think that it increases my personal immersion in the fight when the characters are being too stupid or too chaotic to be optimal in combat. It does it feel like a street brawl where out of nowhere someone hits you with a bat over your head and then your friend stabs them to death but then a feral man rips your friend's throat with their teeth. It just feels very PM.
I guess my ideal way it would play is to give the option to manually target generated skills like EGO and defensive skills while leaving the rest random. Like letting the fantasy of Dante being like "NO DON YOU IDIOT. YOU ARE LOSING THAT FUCKING CLASH. SOMEONE HELP DON NOW" rather than it being LoRs perfect tactical game or the current chaos fest
i don't simp for Ryosho because she's a sadistic. i just like her abbreviations and that one pun she made.
Honestly i love mirror dungeons, it lets me test out sinner ids ive yet to level and it lets me figure out what weaknesses future enemies ill face have
I didn't play any gacha games to the day Limbus had released and man, I've got beaten every chapter and I WANT more. I am absolutely interested in this story since it can have it's impact on the City, but only two chapter a year feels more of a punishment for loving this universe. Wish I can beat this game and not throw it up after chapter 5 😭

In non abno battles, you can use defensive dices to transfer a clash on your next speed dice. And the ennemies are not smarter, they also just go by speed.
PS : Ishmael best girl.
So far I think W corp Don Quixote has the most fun gameplay, having to build charge to do a devastating attack is a great feeling. It makes even the normal battles feel like you have a lot of choice in what your doing.

That shit is so fun. Plus he already takes down an inquisitor to 20% hp with only one quick suppression.

Spot on review and as for Meursault , i literally forgot he was a character because of how little he talks or interacts with everyone. At one point i though he was a side character like yuri

The crashing when using ego made me lose 3-18 when i was about to win. I'm just glad i beat it after that without much trouble
you can manipulate the vs humans targeting to some extent. Think of [vs humans] and [vs abnormalities] as different game modes. I understand the frustration with the auto targeting, but I've come to learn how to play with it and it's definitely not made that way to make fights go faster. All that said, I'd also welcome manual targeting for the [vs humans] fights, agreed that it would make combat better.
Yeah, you nailed the story part. I love it and because of that I hate it as there's one more thing that is draining my time when I'm looking to cut down on those :'v
7:32 hey, testing i found how 6. Attack skill value works
Is clash against enemy defense, for every 4 points AVOBE the defense you Gain +1 power to the Basic attack roll.
For example Attack of 18 Against defense of 10 give you a +2
Meaning that for Focus strike the MINIMAL value Roll is 5+2.
This attacks level Only goes up Trought Levels, so using ALL YOUR SINNER is recomended so their have High level and more chances to have a extra +1 in clash.
i totally agree with you on pros and cons
i am enjoying the game a lot. at first i was like just these characters ? not saying they look bad in design, I like their design and the art fits the story and the atmosphere and the osts especially boss stage ones are really good. what made the characters even more lovable is the story.

Also, as funny as it sounds, you may sometimes have a BETTER experience on phones. Why? Because of 3-22. Without getting into spoilers, a few people and I have been unironically unable to play the dungeon due to a "black screen" that's technically just "your screen is set out of bounds and can't go back". However, if you do get it (it'll always be on the second fight onwards), you can use your phone to actually get through the dungeon (or if you're insane, step on the tile of the fight, then switch back to PC, then repeat for EVERY fight in the longest dungeon in the game.)
Helped me mitigate the glitch, hopefully might help a few people too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls it Limbus-sy.,
Great video! You had me laughing my ass off
On pc there is one more bug, for somereason in some locations you get stuckin cutscenes/dungeon loading. The way to fixit is to set computer location to US for whatever reason.
One minor qualm I have personally is defense abilities requiring a target when their application completely disregards who was targeted.
that changed in the recent patch. They reworked a lot of things in the game alr.
I heard limbussy being said, there's no more need for me to watch further, great video
the whole story is basically divine comedy
i know for a fact the human fight you were dying to was 3-17
Honestly, I just think if they lower the stagger threshold, or just remove the middle stagger bar, then human fights would actually feel much better, because for the most part, the main frustrating thign is that these people feel like paper, and once they get staggered, they are getting deleted if they havent been already
Does anyone here got a list for all the song and ost in this video
I have no problems with no targeting in normal fights, i just wish they fix the mobile version
4:05 no it dosent have a blend its sooo fucking depressing then its soo fucking funny, and then its cuts the corner right back around to soo fucking depressing again its great
I am very happy with the game so far, I feel like the combat needs a little more polishing tho, the VFX are a Leap in comparison to LOR but there`s something else missing there
I am also expecting them to get more bold with identities, an Arbiter Faust or even a Claw Mersault or Gregor would be very much appriciated
Damnnnn, now I'm really interested!
I am a fan of the world that Project Moon has made, I had played their previous games, and I was looking forward to Limbus Company. It's one of the best gacha games I've ever played, although I knew it was going to be buggy, PM has a reputation for their games to start with being a very poorly optimized and buggy mess, but they're always on top of feedback of their players to improve. I think the game will be able to keep a niche of people captive, as well as introduce more people to its dark but fantastic world.
Need the name of the last song played in this video
Bust A Groove - Kitty N.
this video is hella old but some points still stay true, such as human fights being kinda ass, but i'll list the good things that changed:
meursault is cool now, mainly thanks to the side chapters like hell's chicken
mirror dungeons are actually reasonable now as in you pretty much don't have to do them, you can just walk in once and that's it
special banners have a pseudo-pity system called "Ideality", where if you roll 200 times you can just outright take a boosted 000 ID for free (if the banner runs out and you have some leftover Ideality you still get some thread)
boosted thread rates, now you get 40 per stage (and a bonus 40 upon uptying an identity to tier 3)
xrd songs in my limbus video? based
12:55 does this game crash alot for people? i have had only 1 crash during the dungeon in chapter 3 and all i had to do was restart the game and it let me continue where i left off
It’s mostly on the mobile version, particularly on IOS
Don't worry about mersault, he'll have his time to shine
I thought that the reason the humen fights are uncontrollable is because the sinners have their own thought and stuff
And abno fights are more cautious or something,
I mostly agree. I had some problems on PC, mostly black screens during dialogs because of PC time format, so I had to change from my native to US format and I once got black screen in Mirror Dungeon when I was inside during day reset and I got kicked out afterwards with decreased rewards. And human fight is probably worst part of the game, too much rng and defensive skill are not always helpful, especially when there are more enemies than Sinners, like in Mirror Dungeon. There were several times when last enemy had big +150% skill that dealt 70+ damage to my last Sinner on the first turn and I had no way to prevent this, especially considering that last Sinner in this case is targeted by two enemies and defensive skill are not very helpfull. With abnormalities I can a least choose which attack I what to clash and which I can safely ignore. I also hope there will be more ways to get Lunacy, because events are looking quite scarse. And I really hope we will be able to get limited battlepass rewards later, because I want Charon as announcer but most likely won't be able to buy first pass.
I agree.
The game is really fun to play with. My only concern for the game is the mirror dungeon and being unable to gain more currency after clearing chapt. 3. I have only been farming EXP tickets as of now.
The edges are planning on revamping the mirror dungeons so that you can earn up to 450 Free Lunacy per week in then. (And also generally improving the system and rewards)
