Agreed. I feel like this is the way it's meant to be played.
There isn't anything out there that comes close to having the incredible sound-design that Elite Dangerous has. It's an audio masterpiece.

I cannot comprehend flying Flight Assist Off let alone scooping cargo pods, hats off to you CMDR o7. I use FA off just for turning quicker and thats about it.
FA off is easy
CMDR Eent Tredison Not flying with it off 100% of the time it's not, if you can do it I would love to see a video CMDR 🤔
Full FA off is a common thing, you'll find hundreds of videos of it around. Just look at Eent's channel, or even my channel. Not to discredit Isinona's videos however, they're much more than just decent flying.
@@CmdrAtaraxic Super new to Elite but I've noticed loads of folks saying flying FA off all the time is pretty pointless...... It looks mad fun though, how could that level of entertainment be pointless?
@@Jardonius It's a lot of fun and it also allows you more freedom with your ship movement. FA on means your engines are constantly working to slow you down in all vectors except forward, so you don't have full control and cant drift sideways. People generally prefer it because it's more like flying a plane, which is natural, and what anyone would expect from a flight simulator.

That Conda in the early bit didn’t seem too friendly, and since you’re not doing rebuys this runthrough you might need us at some point, especially if you have another run-in with SDC.
In fact, we could use a pilot of your skill level fighting alongside us. We’re working to bring more people into Open Play by keeping griefers busy and hopefully take the amount of griefing down a good bit. Think it over, but I fully understand if you choose to decline.

I really wish that Frontier allowed the creation of multiple, or at least 1 more, characters. I would love to do stuff like this from the sidewinder and up, but with hundreds of millions in the bank that is just not fun.
buy ships and modules to store them at a station, then get a sidewinder and suicide, choosing not to rebuy and start at your original location with the free one, and there ya go! free to play as a newbe (barring ranks and rep) as long as you like, while keeping all your previous progress
Or just roleplay as Trump of the future, small loan of a billion credits...
So very sneaky. This isn't even piracy, this is pickpocketing in space!

The Adder has great handling and response from it's thrusters. Agile but not twitchy especially good for Assist-off.

Tested this by slightly modifying my mining Asp Exp. I was able to pull cargo without being attacked by constantly keeping my temp below 24%. All I got was a 10min special bounty for the hatch breaker. I didn't need to go into silent running and was able to keep my shields up - pretty much everything else other than drives, sensors and limpets was off. Clearly silent running is required in an Adder because they're not as cool running as an Asp. Maybe an Orca would be the ideal ship to use for this? Food for thought commander. Superb FA off flying BTW.

It's like the most thrilling story of a homeless bum searching the pavement and gutters for pennies so he can afford a bus fare.
I want to see you buy a Python, and fly it from brand new (which is awful, of course) and see what antics you would get up to trying to survive in it, and upgrade it until it was all-A, and engineered up the wazoo, and fitted out to be a jack-of-all-trades. There's nowhere you can't go in a Python and nothing you can't do - basically.

An Adder! That's an odd choice for piracy. But I guess it does run fairly cool, so it's good for this. Hate that thing's cockpit though, never kept it for long.
