I truly believe he truly believes none of it was his fault. And yes, the armorer holds the lions share of the responsibility as she should have caught live rounds, no matter how they got on set; held all the actors who needed to be safety conscious to that standard; not letting safety be pushed aside or rushed; not letting anyone else touch those weapons and ammo besides her and the talent or she walks. And I'm sure that's how he excuses any guilt on himself. I don't care who check our didn't check or loaded or didn't load, if something I did caused a bullet to shoot out of a gun and into a person on accident I would be so completely torn up. I think there is probably a bit of an argument that since the armorer was found guilty that they could say she didn't teach him how to be careful and check and the rules of gun safety. Maybe as a producer, if they have evidence of that, but as an actor I'm inclined to see Hannah taking the blame, much as I hate it

@@disillusionedanglophile7680 She also admitted that live bullets were being shot from these guns for “training” at a nearby “target range”. Which is another one of those Absolutely Do Not Do EVER! Prop gun safety rules. If you need to “teach the actor what the recoil feels like so they can simulate it with the blanks” then you get two sets of guns. The ones firing real bullets stay at the licensed, controlled and secured gun range. And never ever go near the set. The guns to be used on set are kept secured and never ever go near live ammo, ever. No piece of live ammo should ever come near the set or come in contact with a prop gun. I think she’s lying in her lawsuit about there only being one real bullet in the gun.
Splenda packet given to him at a coffee shop written on both sides by young girl. He can't remember exact message but he lost it. @@mamashanshan2772 There are some rules that can be broken, there are some rules that should be broken - but when it comes to rules on firearms - those should never be broken - just ask Alec (oh wait he's not going to take any responsibility whatsoever - he'll just villainize everyone else) . This is definitely a black/white issue- get lazy - break the safety rules and people die. It really is that simple.
Why were live rounds on a film set anyway? Who was supposed to make sure the gun wasn't loaded and safe? Surely, that's not left up to the actor or is it?
It's not obligatory to comply with the police. You have a right to silence and his lawyers have a right to challenge a search warrant in a court. Ordinary people do this every day.
Also this isn’t “murder” no one intentionally shot her over rage, or hate or whatever….it’s an unfortunate accident. But I’m sure as any celeb does there’s things Alec has hidden because it probably paints him in a negative light in this case. I DO NOT think this means he’s guilt free, it just means he did not pick up the gun and point it at her out of pure malice.
I don't blame him for doing everything in his power to avoid getting criminally charged or being held civilly liable, anyone would. I blame him for continuing to blame everyone but himself using his celebrity and straight out lying to the public in the hopes that he can change the narrative. He seems to think eventually the public will decide he's the victim and then... what? Petition the Santa Fe D.A. not to charge him?
I imagine he thinks the more he protests, the more the public will stand behind him. All it does it make me look at him more and raise a brow. I guess he will blame the director next if he hasn't already.
I agree he is entitled to legal representation. What he is doing wrong is throwing out weird conflicting narratives on a daily basis. He seems to be having a mental breakdown and needs everyone to be on his side. His lack of concern for Haylana and her family is pathetic.

Baldwin continues to center himself as the victim. I'd respect him more if he said nothing to the public and actually cooperated with the investigation.
Honestly I think anyone in his situation would too. The difference is that he has a platform for everyone to see. The trauma associated with killing two people is profound, even when intentional..
I agree with some other comments that there’s obviously stuff on his phone he doesn’t want anyone to see. However, this strange behavior started before they even wanted the phone. My devious mind thinks something is not right here and are probably going to have our minds blown in the end.
I’m not sure why anyone is surprised by his behavior. His true character was revealed when that awful, abusive voicemail he left his daughter was released for the world to hear. Who could say the things he said to his daughter and be a good, decent human being. I’ve always wondered how his current wife married and had so many children with him when that voicemail is out in the world.
My family actually uses this term so I didn’t think it was weird. But we use it around my aunt who passed away as a child of cancer. We say in terms of ‘making sure her death has meaning and purpose’. Meaning, fundraising for her specific cancer, trying to work to find a cure so nobody has to die like she did. But this could just be my family.🤷🏻♀️
Why do you get to decide who Alec Baldwin considers a friend? I have people, I consider friends, who I became friends with on meeting them. I also have people I have socialised with for years that I do not consider friends. I'll bet you do too.
It is absolutely an adhd trait to interrupt and as someone with adhd I enjoy it bc I like to hear your thoughts and it breaks up the video nicely for my brain 💗
As any human being, Alec's defense mechanism is rationalization. He has publicly claimed that he never discharged the gun, but unfortunately for him, he did. It is public knowledge that he did NOT turn over his phone even over a month later - but insists he is complying with law enforcement. He's making me sick because he is making this about himself, Not Halyna Hutchison.
I found it! If Alec wants to “escalate”, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department can “parry”. They can get a NM judge to issue a Material Witness warrant, compelling him to come to New Mexico and comply with the phone warrant!
When life turn to shit people grab beauty where they find it, anything to keep their mind away from internet holier than thou A#$holes hiding behind their VPN
Mark Groubert had an excellent point on Alec’s “verbal compulsions”, in spite of most probably avoiding his lawyers’ advice. He NEEDS to get BONDING to continue to work. For goodness sakes, he’s got Hilaria and the six kids to pay for! Plus, he’s an unstoppable narcissist! (He can’t help himself. LOL)
Alec is has something on that phone he doesn't want anyone to see, for sure. There's no other reason for him not to just give it over, he might not be hiding something about the shooting but he's definitely hiding something on that phone.
This is absolutely what I think. I wonder if it's something big enough that it's a significant legal issue to him. Or instead, if it's more a personal life secret that he has reason to believe would be relevant enough to be dragged into the court case? But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, and he's just hiding small things but is too paranoid or controlling about it to let it go.
Like drink or drugs? Because a lawyer could try to argue his negligence related to safety was due to being intoxicated either in planning in his role as producer or as an actor during the incident. I can see why a person wouldn’t want to hand that over.
@@stephaniecostello2262 The conversations on cell phones aren't recorded in the phone's memory. It can show the number of the person he was talking to on the call, but investigators can subpoena his phone records without him agreeing.

Have you seen that the Armorer has filed suit? I look forward to hearing you break it down! (Especially since she is accusing Baldwin of not showing up to his cross draw training! 🤬
Her suing the supplier seems far fetched, but pointing out that she was set up to fail and her roles as armorer weren't being respected on set feels like a huge deal. According to her, she not only wasnt in the room but wasn't even aware they were using the guns yet and says HAD she known and been in the room, the gun would have been checked again before handing to Baldwin and she would not have allowed it to be aimed at anyone. (It's also sounding like the need to aim it at her *might* have been due to lack of monitors, the majority of which had been taken by the camera crew that morning when they walked off. It's such a senseless death that had SO MANY warning signs of things going awry. I will be outraged at anything less than Baldwin and Hall both serving time.
@@ruminationstation4200 I couldn't agree more in what should happen. I think Halls is more likely to be charged out of the three. Also, if some of her claims are true, there are another hand full of people that should have some concerns of liability. (The allegations that she was getting blowback for wanting to report the accidental discharge helps me why her attorney questioned if she was being framed.) I do understand suing the providers of the bullets. If they only ordered blanks, and dummies, there shouldn't be any live ammunition provided. The problem is proving the live rounds came from them, and weren't added in by the plinkers being careless. Another twist here, is that her dad may have been partially responsible for the reloaded ammunition ending up in the supplier's hands. Which only adds another person ignoring safety precautions. (Due to a game of telephone, I know some of the facts have gotten mangled. I want to look back at the affidavit that talked about dummies, or blanks, being refilled for cheap target practice. If a brand of bullets has never sold live rounds, and someone made them live, I would consider that negligence, or worse.)

@@chrissan2457 You should check out the Screen Actors Guild Saftey Bulletin. It gives an extensive breakdown of the proper procedure for the safe handling of firearms on a film set. Production management and crew are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment. But it is your right and RESPONSIBILITY to double check the setup to insure your own safety!" It's also interesting to note that Alec Baldwin is not only the person holding the smoking gun, he's not only a member of the production staff. He is also the president of the Screen Actors Guild. There's no excuse for this type of negligence on his part.
I don't know much about this situation, but it seems like whoever is in charge of the weapons is the one who didn't do his/her job. Also, who brings actual bullets to a filming location?

He gave examples of what they might be looking for in his phone - photos, letters to his wife - he was searching to make those looking for examples because he already knows exactly what they will find on his phone and he was trying to deflect from it. Why not mention text messages, which is a really easy, obvious reason they would want the phone?
What high school or young college kid uses language like “good sir”? That sounds like actors’ speak. Sounds like a moniker an arrogant narcissist would self apply.

it's interesting to compare what he said was on the splenda packet (when he lost it), versus what he actually read when he got it. he also said it was written on both sides (he didn't show the back, so who knows). it's also interesting that the splenda packet happened to say "you are 100% true" - who writes something like that? and why does it happen to line up with what he's about to talk about?
I had the exact same thoughts! Why didn’t he show both sides since he made a point of saying there was writing on both sides in first live?? Where is the place it was found in relation to where he received it?? How did the person that picked it up know it was written to AB?? Was his name on it?? What made them pick up a random Splenda packet in the first place?? Soooo many questions! The whole thing is suspish.
There's another UA-camr that believes Alec Baldwin wrote himself that message on the Splenda packet. He compares the Splenda handwriting to the doodles Alec drew/wrote.
@@perlitalaguna6622 yeah I did see that - but the handwriting doesn't look the same on certain letters (but it does look similar on other letters). I don't know if that could possibly be true, but even if it isn't, it would only take someone seeing Alec's Instagram post and just doing it themselves to make it "show up". I have no idea who wrote it - it's just the content and timing of "the splenda packet" that looks suss to me...
that splendid packet was his vehicle to show that he, the 'poor' man is being soooo mistreated... now they even want his phone, which he is simply unable to hand over until all the hoops have been jumped. it's the porcess... why does nobody understand that... he is doing everything he can (read that in the voice of Alec Baldwin crying)....seriously though: if he deletes stuff, they will find it still. if he 'looses' the phone, it will not look good either. so why be an a-hole about it? is it just that he wants it on his terms because otherwise he would give up whatever power he thinks he has?
So much of what he has done makes no sense to me. It's like he's playing 5D chess using a Monopoly board and arguing that we're right wingers to explain why he's not winning. But to answer your question, I have no idea how this benefits him at all
I’m hearing an eerie similarity between Alec’s deflections and Travis Scott’s deflections in terms of the Astroworld tragedy... “what matters is figuring out what happened” never what their involvement is, interesting 🤔
Dude, that still bugs me becuase he acted like if was an unsolved crime and not a situation where everyone had already analyzed the smallest details of the event as it happened as well as how simple changes in the planning could have made drastic changes. Like, Travis, we already know who is responsible. It's you, Drake, and live nation. That's why you're sitting here doing this interview. The man is too stupid to understand how f*cked he is.
While I will 'cut him some slack' as he's no longer in his 20's and he's going off memory, did anyone realize that the actual message on the Splenda packet was vastly different than what he remembered? How do we even know that the packet he showed was actually for him??
I feel like he's a bit off cognitively & mentally since the shooting (understandable). I don't doubt he's feeling horribly guilty & even in denial. I don't think he's helping himself whatsoever from a legal standpoint though. IMO he needs to get into a therapist's office & off social media about this incident IMO, if anything for his own legal protection.
Emily D. Baker - Having worked in the medical field, I think he is self-medicating with drugs and/or alcohol. That will make a person act like this against the advice of lawyers.
Just a thought/question...Alec still has a very large following on Instagram and there are numerous comments from his fans that are very supportive..He never appears to respond to them or even acknowledge the majority of them ...why was this Splenda packet so special? Just because it was allegedly given to him in person? The whole Splenda story of retrieving it via a friend is very far fetched in my opinion
@@briarrose29 To me, it looks like something that he wanted to use in the beginning to show that people still think he's a great guy before he talked about anything hard or bad. But when he showed it, he showed a packet that had writing and a picture all over one side of it. He didn't flip it over to read anything on the other side at all. The way he talks in his instagram videos is like he's in a Hollywood movie. I don't know if this is a cultural difference, as I'm not American like him, but I have never in my life actually heard anyone speak like this in real life. The cadence, the tone, his expression... none of it feels like he's actually conversing at all.
Am I the only one a bit concerned that he's pretty much broadcasting his location and where his very young children are constantly? Like, if you want to be left alone, maybe don't tell the internet where you are daily?
Outside of this entire situation - I’ve always loved the tone of Alec’s voice and how he speaks as an actor and as a person. Probably because 30 Rock was such a huge part of my early 20s!
the amount that this guy is flailing, it’s just embarrassing. his poor lawyers bahaha. but seriously, can he make this any more about himself? if he were talking about his personal trauma with the shooting, it’d be different… also, emily your hair is everything i love it so much.
@Maria Baja i didn't much care for him either, but he really has sealed his fate, for me, as a prideful man who can't take criticism and is just plain hard to deal with when things aren't going in his favor. a decent human with the amount of responsibility that he had, whether he wants to admit it or not, should at least have enough sense to calm tf down with the speaking on it and deflecting of blame, when her family probably just wants time to process. i have sympathy for him in that it was a very traumatic thing for anyone to have to go thru, but negligence doesn't need intent, and he is clearly well enough to speak on it when and only when it assists in clearing his own name, which alone speaks volumes to me.
I can understand if Baldwin wants assurance that anything they find on his phone that is not related to the Rust shooting will be kept strictly confidential, and not end up in the press
I have worked in restaurants for almost 20 years and people randomly write on Splenda sugar equal packets even napkins. I doubt the packet was specifically for him
I doubt the story is real. I have a hard time believing a young girl ("high school senior or maybe college aged" according to Baldwin) decided to pass a note to some haggard old man. My bet is he heard of it happening to someone else recently and decided to co-opt it. The way he lies reminds me a lot of my grandpa, and that's how he would do it. He would just steal other people's anecdotes and things and change them around to suit his ego or the purposes best. Alec needed an excuse to live steam so he could address the rumors but while pretending that wasn't the reason he was streaming. The fact he then "found" a Splenda packet afterwards is just further evidence of lying, people who are telling the truth about innocuous things usually shrug their shoulders. It's liars who insist on being believed on the smallest trivial stuff, because they know getting you to believe in their character is the only way you'll believe the big lies.
Part that sickened me was him thinking he's on same platform as Sidney Portier. Poitier is am honorable legend who never killed accidentally or other. Pls don't go there chum

The ones firing real bullets stay at the licensed, controlled and secured gun range. And never ever go near the set. Every “normal” citizen wouldn’t be getting away with not complying with the police when they are being investigated for the murder of your co-worker!
It's not obligatory to comply with the police. You have a right to silence and his lawyers have a right to challenge a search warrant in a court. Ordinary people do this every day.

I don't blame him for doing everything in his power to avoid getting criminally charged or being held civilly liable, anyone would. I blame him for continuing to blame everyone but himself using his celebrity and straight out lying to the public in the hopes that he can change the narrative. I imagine he thinks the more he protests, the more the public will stand behind him. All it does it make me look at him more and raise a brow. I guess he will blame the director next if he hasn't already.
There is a online petition available urging Mary Carmack-Alyweis to hold Baldwin to the same legal standards as the rest of us.

Honestly I think anyone in his situation would too. The difference is that he has a platform for everyone to see. The trauma associated with killing two people is profound, even when intentional..
Fat chance
I wouldn’t respect him anyways.

Alec Baldwin’s Splenda packet story is absolutely ridiculous and highly susss. He’s a performer through and through.
Never heard anyone use the term "honour the death of "
You honour the life of someone
My family actually uses this term so I didn’t think it was weird. But we use it around my aunt who passed away as a child of cancer. We say in terms of ‘making sure her death has meaning and purpose’. Meaning, fundraising for her specific cancer, trying to work to find a cure so nobody has to die like she did. But this could just be my family.🤷🏻♀️
Yes, I thought that was an odd phrasing, too. Usually people will say "honor the memory of" or "honor the life of..."
@@pattydella4 Definitely!
I actually thought it was a little disturbing
It’s more than a little shady to claim sympathy by saying he was friends with Helena. So, so shady.
Love letters to his wife? Does he mean sexting? Not sure how many people are writing love letters to anybody on their phone.😄
I found it! If Alec wants to “escalate”, the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department can “parry”. They can get a NM judge to issue a Material Witness warrant, compelling him to come to New Mexico and comply with the phone warrant!

He might still need to Delete the Epstein texts.
Like drink or drugs? Because a lawyer could try to argue his negligence related to safety was due to being intoxicated either in planning in his role as producer or as an actor during the incident. I can see why a person wouldn’t want to hand that over.

(The allegations that she was getting blowback for wanting to report the accidental discharge helps me why her attorney questioned if she was being framed.)
I do understand suing the providers of the bullets.

I'm not suggesting that he wrote on that splenda packet himself, but... Why did he pull two of them out of his pocket?!
He gave examples of what they might be looking for in his phone - photos, letters to his wife - he was searching to make those looking for examples because he already knows exactly what they will find on his phone and he was trying to deflect from it. Why not mention text messages, which is a really easy, obvious reason they would want the phone?

Don't he know no one cares about anything but the killing. We don't give a shtt about your personal crap just info leading to Helyna's Death!@
His statements are erratic and inconsistent because it is incredibly stressful and overwhelming trying to remember whether or not your wife is Spanish
Loved today’s analysis Em. 👍🏼❤️
Me, a Santa Fean, fully aware that this happened in my hometown: *gets surprised when emily says santa fe*
Part that sickened me was him thinking he's on same platform as Sidney Portier. Poitier is am honorable legend who never killed accidentally or other. Pls don't go there chum
He did this during the ABC interview as well, mentioning Anthony and Meryl. Like is he thinking the D.A. is going to go omg Meryl Streep!!! Let's not charge him then
Wow so Alec Baldwin literally is Jack Donaghy in real life LOL his cadence and the words he used to describe the Splenda packet encounter literally took me instantly back to 30 Rock
Ooh girl!! Your hair is looking FABULOUS
I LOVE how you promote the product, Manscaped! “I am excited”. You kill me!
