  • Knowing how to lubricate air tools is important but more important is actually doing it! Keeping your pneumatic tools lubricated will help give them a longer life. Here is the pneumatic tool lubricant I use.

    Dust caps for the tools: When wire shelving is cut, what is left is a very sharp, jagged end. Whoever sells wire shelving should have packets of rubber/vinyl caps to cover those ends. They make perfect caps for pneumatic tools.

    Do you have to use air-tool specific oil or can you use other oils? I have some 'super-lube multi-use synthetic oil' here

    • @RonniesWorkshop
      @RonniesWorkshop  Рік тому

      I don’t know about that. The oil is cheap enough, I wouldn’t chance it.

    What about the automatic inline oilers, too erratic or ok?

      I am not familiar with the advantages and/or disadvantages with those.

    After lubricating a tool is it normal for oil to come out while using the tool?

    • @RonniesWorkshop
      @RonniesWorkshop  Рік тому +2

      If you put a few shots without nails onto a piece of scrap wood after inserting the oil, that should work any excess oil through.

      It is not abnormal or cause for concern.. Maybe a drop or 2 less on the next lube job... If it is cause for concern (leaking on a wood project would definitely be something to look out for especially if ur finish nailing and all stain and seal has already been completed but definitely not a concern for the tool

    But how often do you gotta do it ?

    • @RonniesWorkshop
      @RonniesWorkshop  Рік тому +3

      Ideally before every use, depending on how long you're using the tool. I usually do it every few times I use it. Thanks; for watching!

    I know that it's often asked, with different answers..... but here I go.....
    Can I use Robinair 13203 Premium High Vacuum Pump Oil as air tool oil?
    Apparently, this oil IS a mineral oil and it appears that it can be safely used.
    Does anyone KNOW for sure, yes or no and why yes or why no?
    *Also, it wasn't mentioned here, but how often should the tools be oiled?*

      I would only use what the manufacturer recommends.

    Disappointingly you left out the most important part. How often? Once a month? Once a year?

    • @RonniesWorkshop
      @RonniesWorkshop  10 місяців тому

      If the tool is used daily, I'd do it every day. It depends on what tool and how often it's used. Best to check the manufacturers recommendations. Thanks for watching!
