- gofund.me/a764f14d On September 24 Hurricane Fiona made its way up north and hit the Magdalen Islands with wind gusts up to 140 km/h. A low pressure system combine to the impressive winds flooded my season shop and left me and many other small businesses from Historical Site of La Grave with damages much higher than we could ever expect.

Many are asking did we have insurance, are you getting government help? The answers aren’t that simple. There are many criteria to be eligible to help programs and many of us aren’t able to benefit from it.
I personally had insurance but my flood deductible on my insurance contract is 25 000$. Yikes! That surely eats away at my yearly profits.

I am so sorry this happened, I didn't realize this affected you up that way. We had quite high winds here in Maine but it was this most recent storm that took out part of my roof last week, before Christmas. I see you haven't done a video so I'm a little worried that you rebuilt only to have it happen again. Waves were real high overnight, way up into the streets into towns. Tourism has been so tough over the past couple years between the US/Canada border, our area has been devastated by the lack of Canadians coming through.

There is a provincial help fund but we don’t meet the criteria to be admissible.

Your workshop looks untouched , like brand new . lots of soap makers dont have workhops at all.
I was very lucky, my workshop is ok. It is my seasonal shop, where we sell products that has damages!

@gh_fm Why would you be so unpleasant to someone who's having such a stressful time? By your logic, nobody gets any help because it's always possible to think of someone worse off. That $25k could be a full time employee's salary for a year.
