1. Belted Notes
For a note to be considered Golden, it must be consistently "perfect" in the vocalists' range. They must be able to sustain it with resonance, and be able to sing it with resonance on a very consistent basis.
Golden: 3.0 points
Ringing inconsistent/consistently grounded: 2.5
Grounded inconsistent: 2
Free consistent: 1.75
Inconsistently free: 1
Tense: .5
Underbelts are notes that are ringing under the vocalists' starting note, and as Lara is a soprano that means notes under G4. They can either earn 1 point for inconsistent resonance, or 1.5 for consistent.
2. Low Notes
Golden: 2.0
Full Fairly Consistently: 1.75
Inconsistently full: 1.25
Inconsistently free: 0.75
Tense/Airy: 0.25
3. Head Voice
Golden: 2.0
Inconsistently Resonant or consistently grounded 1.75

7. Vocal Control:
Here is Stamina explained!
1/4: First Song vs Last Song: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to sing the last song in their concert just as well as the first.
Celine earns this point.
2/4: First Show vs Last Show: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to perform their last show in a tour to the same height as their first.
Celine earns this point.
3/4: This point is earned if the vocalist did not rely on lipsyncing to perform their more challenging songs.
Unfortunately, Celine began lipsyncing early on in her career and does not earn this point.
4/4: This point is earned if the vocalist consistently adds ad-libs that are not in the studio versions of their songs to their live performances.
Celine constantly does this to her own songs and covers.
8. Vocal Effects:
For each skill that the vocalist is capable of, they earn a point. If they are a master of this skill, they earn two points.
9. (Lack of) Vocal Issues: Here, if the vocalist has any major issues, they are deducted a varying amount of points from the ten given in this category.
10. Consistency/Longevity: If the vocalist has struggled with consistency in the past or has drastically declined from their prime, they will have points deducted in this category from 5.
CVSS Updates:
As explained in the video, head voice now starts at F5 rather than E5. Scores have been adjusted in the video.
Imho, even as a lamb, I think she's the most well-rounded and consistent vocalist in the trinity.

@@bclislife I think Celine was still in her prime when Mariah and Whitney already weren't so for me that's points for longevity and consistency. Relative to the other two, I think no area of Celine's voice was underdeveloped even if she may not be the best in all areas (for example, Mariah's head voice and Whitney's lows).
Truly tho, the differences in skill among these queens are miniscule and not really that dramatic. But it's quite obvious to me that Celine seems to be the most balanced.
Imo I think she is, she is a great belter, great head voice, great lows, great agility. The only thing people hate on her about is her consistency on upper belts, which she still has relatively great upper belts just not as consistent and as she aged got heady, but it helped her sustain her voice sooo. And if we’re being brutally honest none of the vocal trinity were super consistent upper belters, Mariah was only consistent for maybe a 2 year period and still had some strained belts and same for Whitney. But who cares? They’re all phenomenal ❤️❤️.

Yes The Imagine D5 is one of the best D5’s I’ve ever heard, and it’s my favorite of Celine’s belts.

@@lightning0506 The vibrato was just fine. It doesn't have to be the same every time she sings. In fact, vibrato is supposed to be natural and should ideally be a bit different depending on Celine's vocal health in different performances.

let's say celine dion's voice will have 17 points lara fabian 16.25 .. I still find that celine dion's extreme agility in her head voice is not rated enough! I think it would take + 1 for agility .. lara fabian is almost at the level of celine that is........agility is noted later, so its gonna camdem a great job here!

She's definitely an amazing and legendary vocalist. Love the Queen of Adult Contemporary Ms. Celine Dion! Her voice is powerful, agile, beautiful, and unique! She has a distinct and instantly recognizable voice! Her She's a well rounded and consistent vocalist. Her lows are well developed, her belts are well developed, her mixed voice is well developed, and her head voice is well developed too. I hate when people say she strains above Eb5. She has tension issues up there at times, but I never heard her full on strain.

When it comes to Celine, there is not need to dissect or pick apart notes. You view the performance as a whole. No one can deny the majesty of her voice, and add the fact that whenever she sings she does as though her life depends on it. A highly respectable artist and vocalist.

Nasality can be an issue in a more classical setting , but perfectly fine with contemporary. It all comes down to taste.
The rasp in her upper belts actually is intentional as a stylistic choice! This is proven in a couple of performances of “all by myself” where she starts the F5 with her signature rasp and then flips into a lighter, smooth and better supported F5- all in one breath.
yes the rap is wanted by celien, she can very well do an f5 in clearer mixed voice without breakage

I think whistle should not be counted as a point when doing a vocal analysis. It is a special thing that people can have or control, like a unique trick. For Mariah - whistle, for Celine - it's nasal control, for Whitney - Master using pop headvoice
Celine's entire head voice range being labeled as "inconsistently ringing" when essentially every note she has sung in the E5-B5 range in her head voice for most of her career carries a resonant ring to it is, frankly, insulting to her. Her head voice being smaller or lighter due to her natural vocal type doesn't stop this from being a reality.

Whistle is not considered part of the voice by most vocal teachers and classical theorists. So that part should not have had a section all to itself but rather be a +2 for example for ability to whistle for someone who is great at it...

A great, fair and objective analisys of Celine's Voice!!! The fact that is more impressive is that Celine take 125 points of score with one register less the whistle register!!! Which means that if we take out this register and make a comparison with Mori and Lara at the moment Celine would be the winner with 125 points then Mori with 121.1 points and finally Lara with 110.75!!! This shows how amazing and insane this woman's Voice is!!!

Simply put Celine doin is a WORLD ARTIST while Mariah Carey is an American artist. Dion was famous around the world for singing in her native french before making it big here in the US. Yes america has the bggest music market, but Dion is more well known around the world. Many of her english and french albums have topped the charts in over 200 countries around the world.. Dion is a generation where as a foreign language singer, she had to come to USA to prove her worth which she did time and time again but Americans always place her at the bottm when compared to whitney and mariah. dion is kind of like the representation of the world when you think of the vocal trinity, that you dont have to be born in america to considered one of the greatest of all time. Dion has awards, allocates, and achievements around the globe that carey could even dare to wish she had.

There is nothing as "compulsory register". They all choose to sing in certain registers. The whistle register is an actual register.
Whitney and Celine had that register as well. Mariah was the most developed in it.
Simple as that.

Have you heard of Dimash Kudaibergen? He’s 27 y/o from Kazakhstan. If not, I recommend that you listen to him perform SOS in China in 2017. He was 22 then and you can see from that performance that he was born to sing. He became a sensation overnight after that performance and the rest is history. After you listen to him, let us know who you think is the best singer. Thank you for reading my long comment.
Each voice singer is unique and different. Having seen Celine twice in concert in 2013 and 2017, the vocal power had already changed and dropped a little, which is normal, you don't have the same voice all your life, age changes it. As for vocal power, the link I put shows Barbra Streisand in the studio and the final note of 19s (from 3mns25s) is well worth the power of the classic "all by myself" and its so-called note by Celine even if I appreciate her vocal qualities. Each has their own abilities and each in turn in their singing career. We cannot be and have been. Here's the link...

Pour avoir vu Celine 2 fois en concert en 2013 et 2017, la puissance vocale avait déjà changé et baissé un peu ce qui est normal, on n'a pas la même voix toute sa vie, l'âge la modifie. Pour ce qui est de la puissance vocale, le lien que j'ai mis montre Barbra Streisand en studio et la note finale de 19s (à partir de 3mns25s) vaut largement en puissance que le classique "all by myself" et sa soit disant note de Celine même si j'apprécie à sa juste valeur ses qualités vocales.
