@tatertots0046 what? He was a monster in college and has had a good nfl career. Not great but he has been good and made a couple pro bowls and is still playing.. most guys on this list didn't play as long as he has.
That’s the thing about talent. Talent is everywhere but it takes a special kind of person to rise to the occasion and actually be successful. You can have all the talent in the world but if you can’t live up to those expectations, you’re gonna end up just another name on an old roster no one remembers.
For high school, all you need is athleticism. Scheme, coaching, play calling, supporting teammates, intangibles, technique, all don’t matter since you’re playing against kids who haven’t finished growing yet. In college, talent may have worked 20 years ago, but nowadays even power 5 conference teams have stud athletes. Strength and conditioning has made vast improvements across the board and previously kept secrets on how well to train players isn’t really a secret anymore, even non professional athletes can look up how to train effectively at the professional level. Being in the right scheme and coaching will be what separate good players to elite players. There’s a reason Alabama has the most NFL starters in the NFL. Saban and his staff were molding future NFL talent, not playing in a way that showcases players strengths and hides their weaknesses. The only caveat to projecting future talent is QB recently. If you said Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes would be the top 3 QBs in the NFL 10 years ago, you would have been laughed out of the room and never invited back again. You almost can’t predict QB.
Matt, you are an incredible football, basketball, and sports mind. Ive been watching you since early in your journey. I'm glad you have a thriving UA-cam channel. Congratulations on growing your channel. Im looking forward to future videos. Thank you. Cheers!
Matt, I've been a subscriber since 2020 or 2021... I love your videos and you're a true pro ! Great work here as always. From all the way up in South Detroit ! ( Windsor Ontario Canada ) We love college ball up here too. Go Blue !
In highschool, I went knee to knee with Adrain Peterson when we played Palestine in basketball. I couldnt walk for two days. I’m not sure that AP even knew we hit knees 😂.
Peterson was a stud, but pump the brakes on saying he could have gone straight to the NFL. That’s a huge jump even for the super rare player like him. I once saw an interview with a guy who has evaluated high school players for 40 years and he said he only saw two guys who he thought could have done it; John Elway and Randy Moss.
My brother played with DJ Williams, the first double photo you have there, the pic in the right isn’t DJ. No idea who that is but that’s him on the left
I played against Matt Barkley when he was at Mater dei. Dude had way more hype around him and he balled out way harder his junior year.. he regressed a lot his senior year but he was still cold..
awesome video, i'm a Virginia Tech Alum, so it brought back great memories of my time there. Kevin Jones was actually in my same Freshman orientation group at virginia tech. I remember seeing him and not knowing who he was at the time thinking "damn that dude looks like he can ball". haha
If you want to talk about hardest hits…..just look up Junior Rosegreen’s Hit against the UGA player in the 2004 Auburn/GA game. To me that one was just jaw dropping and it made the entire arena go silent because of the GA being knocked out. I still shiver watching that play
Vince Young was a dual threat so you have consider running yards and rushing touchdowns. He was rookie year. Two or three pro bowl appearance. What he able to accomplish with a coaching staff that didn’t even want him on the team.
Went to highschool right up the road from Nkemdiche and was a grade behind him, got to watch him play a couple of times in highschool and it’s hard to overstate just how good he was. By the way he also played RUNNINGBACK at that time which was cartoonish to watch. Shame that guy was such an idiot because he was absurdly physically talented.
Matt , it's too bad you are too young to have witnessed Barry Sanders . He was far better than A. Peterson . In fact , he's the very best to ever play the position and had at least 3 high-end years left in the tank when he retired .
You should look up the wasted potential of Cecil “the diesel” Collins out of Leesville, La. He was drafted by the Dolphins in the 4th round only to end up in jail.
Fournette just needed to have a decent coach.. Saban was just so much smarter than les miles it wasn’t even funny.. everytime fournette played against bama they just stacked the box and he had no where to run on every single play
I live in Texas, so I play as Texas on CFB25, and I wanted to make a QB... then I decided it'd be nice to actually see the field and made a running back instead.
Adrian Peterson was a phenomenal amazing player not just in high school but University of Oklahoma and in the NFL as well he was a 1st Round 7th overall pick in 2007 NFL Draft by Minnesota Vikings he didn't disappoint in his Rookie Season but his biggest game was against the Chargers he ran for 296 yards the greatest single game performance in NFL's History period in 2012 he won NFL MVP running for 2097 yards the 2nd greatest single season in NFL's History as well make no bones about it he will be in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame soon for sure! 8:22
I hate that you have to include a disclaimer to prevent potential copyright takedowns... But it's okay to literally livestream the entire Super Bowl (outside any NFL affiliation) if you have enough followers.
actually saw him in an arena game in the Dallas area where I live in 2017. you can go on the field after the game and he was surprised I remembered him. Best player on the field, but it was an arena game. He let me get a picture with him. Cool guy.
DJ Williams was a stud. I got to see him play at De La Salle when I was a kid.
Why he went against the High School I went to and beat us by 72. They was on that record winning back then. I was a junior
Amazing 2 way player. Underwhelmed a bit in some peoples eyes at the U, but was a 1st round pick anyway and was a very solid player.

All Jets fans remember D'Brickashaw Ferguson, never missed a snap and we' havent had a good LT since he retired

Clowney also said that during recruitment he about fell asleep listening to Nick Saban talk about BAMA. I remember that also

D'Brickishaw Ferguson is such a bad ass name. It's like he was meant to be an OT. Too bad injuries wrecked him.
Considering what he became it's cool but imagine him being a regular guy named "da brick a shaw"

Very great job Matt 👏👏👏
Crazy that NKemdiche went to Ole Miss and the No. 2 ranked recruit, Chris Jones went to MSU. Safe to say things have gone well for Chris in the NFL
I remember Joe McNight playing Hoover here in birmingham on ESPN. He was unstoppable that night. Really put him on the map

He wasn’t the number one in 2001 though. Joe Mauer was. Just didn’t end up going to Florida state as he was drafted 1 by the twins and signed
Matt gone of that geek bar posting this late

Right - that was weird.
They don’t resemble each other at all. Plus the different jerseys - common.

Eugene Monroe Ina thumbnail from my hometown Plainfield new jersey 🔥
Ain’t a person on this earth who misuses common phrases as effectively as Matt
Barrow hit on Vanover...best hit ever
Ernie Sims was not allowed to hit at practice in high school bc he injured all of his teammates. Heard that from one of his high school teammates.
It's that Junior Seau as Dj Williams?
Matt Barkley was neeeeeevvvveerrrrr a 1st round pick. The NFL doesn't pick short chubby cement feet average arm QBs in the 1st round

Florida state cinnamon rolls 😂😂😂😂
Matt you already made a video on Dorial Green Beckham 😂
also notice he said "Green-Beckham Jr?" No, he's not Odell
All the number 1 HS recruit has to do is have a good college career to me.
AP would have gotten destroyed as a HS in the NFL.
I ran track against Kevin Jones- he was a man as a freshman and I was a boy
CAN U TALK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH ALDON SMITH PLEASE.
Remember when we were all tricked into believing Vince Young was good just because he was on a madden cover
Thanks
It’s AD fellas. It’s not that hard. That comes from the man himself, AD for All Day.
