both the videos i've watched about chorno ark on your channel have been super informative!, i know i'm hella late on this one but keep up the good work!
hi, are you going to start uploading again? i can't find much content from experienced players on this game so i'd love those summary videos on each investigator!
@@-aku2805 official discord just dropped a while ago: discord.gg/8sSfwSD3eR it is my goal to continue uploading chrono ark vids when there is a need for em, but i've been busy irl and also the info would get outdated quickly because the game updates frequently enough
@@AltairisCh yup already joined both official and unofficial discord servers. and that's understandable. already managed to pick the game up pretty well with the help of the people on the servers
Thank you for this! I ended up getting a choice between two different cards that added Exclude to drawn cards, and the game didn’t have a tooltip for what that meant. This helped :)
Great overview of all of Chrono Ark's mechanics! Seems like a good place to get a new player started. I think the Tracking section is missing an important detail maybe? In Expert Mode, Tracking works as described. In Normal Mode though, tracking is applied to every player attack, and the keyword is removed entirely (since it's applied globally, no need for the keyword). Unless they reverted this change again? It's been a while since I played Normal, but it might cause some confusion amongst newer players.
Wait, really?? I genuinely had no idea because I've never played normal mode. That's good to know! As an aside, pretty much all of my content is going to assume the player is on Expert because I genuinely believe that's the mode people should start on if they have any experience with card/deckbuilding games at all. Normal mode is forgiving to the point of like... you learn very little from it. On Expert a new player is prob going to lose a bunch of runs before winning one, but it'll be more obvious to understand why they lost/won each run. And from that they can learn and iterate! Isn't that the roguelike experience?
@@Sabatar73 ultimately, whatever mode brings you the most enjoyment is the one you should play on. BUT I still recommend expert mode to beginners because a lot of the mechanics that make chrono ark unique and compelling is in expert mode only.
Thanks for this, I just picked this up the other day and was getting a bit confused on stuff. The game doesn't do much in the way of text to explain stuff. More like "do an thing and see if you notice what changed, good luck".
Hi!! Could you explain item blue text upgrades? When I hover the text it doesn't say that the effect does. Like "Rough" "Precise" etc I just started playing today!
Probably soon after 1.0 releases - the game is currently on like 0.99999 and any content made at this stage is guaranteed to be outdated upon game launch.
@@MaxVfromCoH Thank you! I generally only make videos when a topic I'm interested in is poorly documented and there's enough demand for it to be, well, documented LOL
Another question for you. Is there a way to tell if a card is rare? I cant seem to find any indicators outside of just memorizing which cards come from things that specifically reward rare cards. Or how to tell what a character's signature move is?(the kind that have a neat animation to go along with)
Rare skills have a red border on the left side of the skill's name. The animations are pretty arbitrary tbh, theyre not really meant to be used as an indicator for how strong or important a skill is
Do you know what determines the characters max card count? As well as what the priority for which cards get removed upon upgrade? In the middle of my first run and 2 characters have 5max and one is up to 8
Technically there is no maximum, there's a minimum though. All investigators start with 5 skills in deck + 1 fixed skill. If you have the option "Forget basic skills automatically" turned on, then learning new skills will automatically forget a basic skill to keep you at the minimum (and not clog up your deck). DPS -> forget basic heals first, then basic attacks Healers -> forget basic attacks first, then basic heals Defenders -> forget basic heals, then basic attacks, then basic protect Also, Blood Mist 2 raises the minimum skills per investigator from 5 to 6.
