Gives the mice and other rodents an easy way to nest in your engine compartment and chew on your wires.
If you keep the car cover on during winter you have no logical REASON to open any of the doors.

Thanks for the comment, but not sure I'm following. The hood does absolutely nothing to keep out rodents - they are far more likely to enter from below.
