Around 2 AM I was trying very hard & praying for a reason just not to quit. Quit everything. I’m a little younger than dirt & tired. Your wonderful personality & your enthusiasm for what you’re doing & sharing your talents with the world is just what I needed. My prayers were answered. A little over 70 years ago I was to prepare a midday meal for everyone.I was very upset about what to make & where to find any food to make it. My Nona & her mother(only spoke Italian) said basically what you just said. Start with clearing the table add the salt, the pepper ,the fork ,spoon, knife & the plates.Then pretty soon you’ll know what to add .You add a little of this, you add a little of that, you cook what you have ,make it look pretty and all is well. The sun is coming up & I know I can get through another day❌❤️❌ May God bless you and keep you in the hollow of his hands❤️
I love when grandma sings. My mom was born in Sicily. She cooked from scratch too. Freshly made pasta, sauces, bread, pastries, and cookies. I am reminded of my mom every time grandma smiles and sing. I made the same pot holders when I was in the 4th grade for my mom and I still have them to this day. I have a few pots that are 4 generations because for some reason the sauces taste better. This dish looks so good I am making it this weekend. Thank you!🤗😚

I had two Italian friends years ago who were excellent cooks. One was a chef and one had parents who had been farmers. The food was sooo good. The chef made a lot of vegetable dishes you don't usually find in restaurants here or even in Italy much. I also want to see if there are any old Punjabi grandmothers who would share their dishes. I had a friend whose mom was an excellent cook. She was Brahma and was vegetarian.

Oh my goodness your back ! I thought and prayed for you often over this covid period . You have inspired me to get back into fresh meals . In Scotland we just put all our ingredients in a pot when making soup , now I do the oil and sweating off of veg and adding stock and meat etc in stages , deeeelicious .
