The strategy for this fight is simple, don't use offensive ATB abilities (he will auto counter even if he is in the middle of an attack), perfect parry everything you can, and HOLD ON TO YOUR LIMIT BREAK. This last part is very important, though it didn't happen in this video Odin has an ability that is essentially stop, except stop immunity doesn't work on it for some reason. So use your limit break to dodge it.
Most of these videos are done at the earliest opportunity of access. Tifa doesn't have access to the true strike weapon when Odin is added to the simulator
@@christopherfranci6766 rise and fall does more damage, but sometimes in a solo scenario you need a slightly weaker attack that does better overall via a shorter animation and such. Rise and fall only adds about 20% to the stagger bonus while omnistrike is much faster and adds 30%, using omnistrike on repeat you can break 300% just before most bosses stagger ends but rise and fall comes no where close to that (add in those bosses that can be afflicted with stop and you can absolutely tear massive chunks out of a boss) Edit: the rise and fall vs omnistrike question is something I brought up on either the Phoenix or titan Tifa solo videos from my own experience using her in game
I don't have true strike, and yeah like craigfunk said it seems like omnistrike has better damage output, at least during stagger. This is due to the fact that it increases stagger by 30% in one quick hit, as opposed to Rise and Fall which does like 20% or so in 4-5 hits.

No worries. I have a full time job and I do a lot of family stuff which takes up most of my weekends and some of my weeknights. Besides that I’m also 100% completing the game, so it takes a while to complete each chapter. I’m currently in the point in the game where the map opens up and they add a bunch of extra quests to all the old regions.
Soloing Odin with a write is the only fight that took an unreasonable amount of time. 2 days of practicing all night, then on the 3rd day beat him second try. Most of the other summons I can complete all the fights in one night.
I mean timing the parry is usually just a matter of practicing and getting familiar with the boss. Odin in particular though is very hard to time at least for me. But at the end of the day it's practice.

Why you don't go to Chi level 3 with unbrilded strength? Wouldn't that make basic attacks stronger? Or use True Strike too when staggered?

How do you parry so well. That's the most impressive part of these videos

Having precision defense materia is a must and practice. I'm sure he's fought Odin enough to get his timing down
