atopthefourthwa...
Originally released December 18th, 2017.
ORIGINAL INFO: Well, it won’t take me higher than the diamonds in the sky…
"It's not Christmas until the bullets start flying." Yep! Die Hard is a Christmas CLASSIC!
Damn, someone actually beat me to it.
What about Lethal Weapon?
Fun fact, in the actual holiday special, the Wookie suits were created by the late Sam Winston and his company. You may also know him as the man who created the iconic design of the Predators, the ones to create the raptor animatronics in Jurassic Park 1-3, the costume and prop designer in the terrible Inspector Gadget movie, the designer on Edward Scissorhands.
You may also know him as the costume designer on Howard the damn Duck. Side note about that movie, it wasn’t the first movie meant to be made about him. There was supposed to be a television series by Warner Brothers in the early 80’s as part of a deal they had to license multiple characters (and also the deal that was the reason why the 80’s Fantastic Four show didn’t have the Human Torch) but the rights expired for weird reasons. There was then meant to be a movie but Howard’s creator, Steve Gerber sued Marvel and the production studio they’d licensed the rights to over using it without permission. Why? Gerber was fired in 1979 due to chronic lateness with his scripts but a clause in his contract technically gave him full legal ownership over the character despite Marvel publishing it. Suffice to say, the movie was put on hold until the case was settled but then Marcel began experiencing financial troubles after the lawsuit ended so the movie was scrapped.
The fact we can tell what expressions the bears are making makes this whole thing better. I can actually get invested in them.
"It's not christmas until the bullets start flying."
Well, taking into account how famiy reunnions can end up going, that joke might not be as sarcastic as you think.
"Now I have a machine gun. Ho-ho-ho."
No joke, at my family's last Christmas get together one of my great uncles got drunk and used a shotgun to kill a spider by shooting it.
Knowing Fred Perry's more...'spicy' body of work makes it funnier to think he's done a Star Wars parody more than once. ;)
Calling it now Overwatch's next hero will be bear cyborg named Smokey whose McCree's best friend.
Happy Life Day Everyone!
Cameron Grow 10:42 or at the very least some guy riding a bear
WHIPP WHIPP STIR WHIP WHIP WHIP STIR WHIP WHIP WHIP STIR WHIP-
NOPE NOPE.. WE'RE NOT DOING THAT AGAIN!
ENOUGH! GOOD HEAPING GOD WHAT THE FUCK?!
I'd totally forgotten about that!
I think I remember trying to make an inside reference of mine...
Watermelon Dreams wrong. It's...

SHUT UUUUUUUUUPPPPP!!!!!!
Darth Goldilocks...truly the most terrifying of villains.
May the Schwartz be with you, and to all a good night.
And great Overwatch references
"I see your schwartz is as big as mine."
I will say this: somehow the art makes a special focused on these bears works WAY better than the Wookies ever could.
I agree. After seeing the Holiday Special, I'm glad wookies were not in Return of the Jedi. Besides, I value bears more than wookies.
I'm not the only one who misread the video title and was caught off-guard when he revealed what he was actually reviewing, right?
pokedude900 Aye.
I love the Linkara Christmas song.
Paladin Prime dito
I'm still waiting for "Kirk Cameron's Saving Life Day."
*Church Camaro... for trademark purposes.
Doug Puthoff NO!
And every member of team Cinema Snob will watch it.
Ironically this probably what Lucas had in mind when he first penned the original storyline for the Holiday Special.
Well, it's nice to see a version of the Star Wars Holiday Special that doesn't suck.
I like to imagine somewhere out there in the vast multiverse lies a universe in which George Lucas, or at least somebody who gave a crap, was actually fully involved with the SWHS, and it ended up being actually pretty awesome and heartwarming, and became a Christmas standard alongside Charlie Brown and the Grinch. So much so, that every decade or so, a new Special comes out taking place in the era of the current movies. (The 2005 Holiday Special was complained about for being bogged down in boring political plot points and uninspired acting, while the 2016 Special was divisive, with some complaining that it was a shameless rehash of the original Special, but many praising it for being a return to the heartwarming feel of the original Special.)
"It's not Christmas until the bullets start flying." God, I hope we don't regret this line next week...
10:55 It's HIGH NOON!
Still better than the Star Wars Holiday Special.
JamesTheBrony/JTB a lot of holiday specials are better than the Star Wars holiday special.
Well that's one thing we all can agree with.
Goes without saying, my friend.
(*pats you on the back*) Goes without saying.
Better than the entire sequel trilogy.
10:54 - It's high noon!!
This comic completely blows the SW Holiday special off the water in everyway and I am happy I know about it now.
You missed a perfect follow up joke Linkara. After the overwatch reference when you yelled "What time is it!" you should of cut to Overwatch character McCree saying "its high noon"
5:50 it's both sad and awesome how well that worked
AT4W is what everyone wants for Christmas. Keep up the great work!
Bobsheaux calls. He says you owe him a crossover episode.
+Lee McDonald
*THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!*
10:55 Linkara you made me do this. "It's High Noon."
I seriously need to get the Steam Wars books. These comics seem so awesome!
This is very cute despite it all, I enjoyed seeing the little bear family dynamics. It might not have been very Christmas-y, but it was nice and warmed me up on the inside. This is my favorite Star Wars AU too so
If this was someone’s first comic... well that would be fun.
"A ship they would soon sell off to Disney."
Which is weird, since I could have sworn they'd already done it five years ago.
MrGBH That was Lucosfilm, rather than Twentieth Century-Fox.
Welp, it's time to stir, whip, stir, whip, whip, whip, stir into another Steam Wars comic.
The adult bears on the cover each look as the size as the bear in Grizzly 2.
6:59- And I see that your teddy bear got you a Marvel Legends Star-Lord mask for Christmas.
Nice job on the Kylp Ren joke, as well as that nod to his shirtless scene in The Last Jedi.
Why the hell couldn't have the STAR Wars Holiday Special been like THIS? It even does a better job on having the "Imperials" imprisoning the "Wookiees" for slave labor, like they did in the STAR Wars universe. Oh well, at least we'll still get that Solo movie 5 months from now.
Speaking as a big Star Wars fan, I agree with Steampuck Bea Arthur about The Last Jedi. It's like what Luke says in the actual movie, "This is not going to go the way you think."
" it's not Christmas until the bullets start flying"
couldn't agree more.
Merry Christmas Linkara
I bought Steam Wars just a couple days ago. A delightful comic.
LOL -- well, gotta give the writers props for doing the Holiday Special and managing to do it mostly right by cutting out the weird extraneous fluff and giving it a proper sense of action and danger. I agree that it doesn't feel particularly festive, and it would have been cool to have some of the other characters show up, but it's still a hell of a lot better than its source material. Yay steampunk Star Wars! :D Happy Holidays, everybody!
Fun episode. With you bringing it up two weeks in a row how it's a shame these aren't exactly festive, I still think you should cover some of the Christmassy Doctor Who comics one year. I think they're, like, 8 pages each. The Matt Smith era got a couple of fab ones, Silent Knight in particular, which features the Santa robots from the first couple of Christmas Specials, which is gorgeous, but also Imaginary Enemies, set during a nativity play Amy and Rory were in as children, was pretty fun.
No Bea Arthur?! 0/10
-Deadpool, probably.
TheHeroOfTomorrow and The Cinema Snob
10:55 "WHAT TIME IS IT?"
Well, judging by the McCree joke you made just a few seconds ago, I'd say it's somewhere around high noo-*bullet to the face*
I really need to get my hands on Steam Wars. Also, I love Fred Perry's work. He's easily one of my favorite artists.
Fred Perry, you damned genius! x)
I hope next christmas there'll be a review of "Klaus: How Santa Claus Began" by Grant Morrison. It's an amazing and hella ridiculus high fantasy christmas (Sorry Yule Day) story featuring demons, giant wolves and beings from another dimension!
Papercurse Huh, as a Grant Morrison fan how did I miss that one? Is it recent?
I found it a few months ago in my LCS but I think it came out 2016. It's pretty cool (even though the concept is silly) especially during the season and the art is amazzzing.
Papercurse That would explain it, for the past 2 years I've been focusing on building my classic collection and haven't been looking at new pieces. Thanks, I'll have to check it out.
Linkara plays Overwatch. Awesome. If I had the money, I'd Patreon him to review some of the Overwatch comics, but, alas, I haven't the funds.
MagusX 84 That…is an awesome idea
He also plays tf2, i wanna see him talk about that too
MagusX 84 steam war is quite astounding love the twist
SOMEONE DO THAT
I love how back when you first did these comics, you denounced the Twentith Century Fox as the wrong thing to call the ship since Disney owned Star Wars not Fox, and now Disney owns Fox and you can make the joke in this video. Kinda dates the old joke a bit, but I always like a little Hilarious In Hindsight humor.
*X-com troops all go on over-watch.*
10:15 That joke makes me wish Linkara will review some of the Overwatch digital comics.
YAY, More Fred Perry
No Steampunk Bea Arthur? How could they miss that?
"What time is it?" Its Miller Time
in-deh-fat-i-gah-ble - to persist tirelessly. That aside, nice to have a non-horror comic this time round, apart from all the dead Wookies that is.... um, nice review.
Thank you links for one more Christmas episode
I meant linkara I hate auto correct
The stinger got me...and I don't even know WHY. I just watched it...and then bust out laughing.
I like Steampunk Bea Arthur's opinion. Also, Steampunk Kylo Ren would destroy many differential machines on a daily basis. I am a Mercy player by the way.
"Hanzo and Genji?" *Pssh* Get real Lewis. You know D.VA is where it's at.
Steam Wars Battlefront is a game I would actually buy if it existed which I'm hoping that a fan of the comics made one hell hopefully it won't even have a whole lot of microtransactions then it would be even more awesome
"Sorry, you need 857 additional Hegemony credits to unlock Hansel Lowe. Please play for 47 additional hours or enter your Storm Foil Card number below."
wow those bears are unreasonably cute
Christmas with the Superheroes. Always worth it.
Okay... I was caught off-guard
8:34 "To to" serve?
BECAUSE POOR LITERACY...actually kinda enhances the story's feel in this case.
Your teddy sounds like a master of chess. Than again, it IS Snowflame... I'll be surprised if he DIDN'T eat the queen and then demanded a piggyback ride from the knight.
I showed my family the Star Wars holiday special... Got 58 minutes in and quit (minus the music videos cause we knew they would probably be even worse) I'm still getting crap a week later. Oh, and my sister took me to court with her stuffed animals over it. Fun times
8:34 good job for adding some world building and explaining where the bears in your world come from. Author which name I forgot
*hears linkara plays Overwatch* Who wants to see Linkara as a character in Overwatch, maybe even Injustice 2??
Linkara: Wait, if she can just pick up the Picture frame with her hand, why does she need cybernetic attachments?
Pat: It's Fiiiiiiiiine.
Oh my gosh that was so cute. I liked that a lot. Thanks Lewis.
I don't have any particular main in Overwatch when I played on the free weekends but man are Lucio and Zenyata fun to play as.
time to see your Steam Wars video again
10:46 "It's High Noon, you Empire A Holes!" =D
Marry Christmas linkara and happy new year
I need to purchase that christmas remix of the Linkara theme.
In regards to the title card, is Fat Grandma singing the "Stir, whip, whip!" song?
Awwww look at all the cute bears! I was too distracted this whole review cause i love bears and theres so many cute bears
I thought for a second with the what time is it joke you might have stuck in a "it's high noon" oh well still love your content
Really the storm troopers would be calling on reaper and widow.
only you can save forest fires and Christmas!
Have I mentioned how much I just LOVE the Christmas theme song. If I haven't,
This gave me caner again, thanks.
A bear asks me for an attorney, you can bet your ass I'm gonna make sure he gets one. Hell a bear asks me for anything, I'll make sure he gets it.
I love the christmas version of the theme
The thumbnail caught me off guard
the empire is completely made up of Hanzo mains- that makes a scary amount of sense
Linkara looking as sharp as ever in that Christmas suit
No awkwardly drawn cutaway story debuting Steampunk Boba Fett? BOO!
Bah, one Sombra could do the work of TEN Genjis and Hanzos!
Jon the Wizard Especially if Genji needs healing
Umm, It's Jefferson STEAMship, thankyouverymuch.
10:54 IT'S HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH-
The reviews are great but can get more of the tournament arc pls
We're currently plotting and planning out the entire tournament arc. Hopefully will resume in January. =)
exactly! I honestly thought this would have some.
And a bear-y Christmas to us all!
10:48 those are arrival times for Express, passenger, or freight trains during the 20th century which is why Han’s ship is aptly names The Twentieth Century Fox probably referencing the 20th Century limited from the NYC hope this clears things up Linkara
"That would explain how my teddy bear was able to play a chess match against Snow Flame once. And win."
No, see, that's not actually surprising.
Because linkara they need the Savernake attachments in order to be a bit more precise with what they want to pick up their paws aren't exactly the best suet to certain tasks
Ah, yes, it's Larry Skywalker's associate: That Weird Bear.
~ TDG
"It's not Christmas until the bullets start flying!"
Holidays in the American South, in general.
2:48 come down, dont get crazy
4:50 Farewell Kaito, with your Death Fruit Jesus has taken his rightful place in the Universe.
the storm troopers would have had an easier time if they just used Dusk balls on the bears lol^^
THE RETURN OF DOGGY THE BEAR!
Ok, I've got to read Steam Wars now.
Good to see I'm not the only one disappointed by how this comic didn't take more inspiration from the original holiday special. I mean... no allusion to Harvey Korman or Barkeep Bea Arthur AT ALL? C'mon, man...
7:10 - Ah, subverting our expectations. Good thing THAT'LL never bite Star Wars in the ass.
"And OH MY GOD, it is too cute for words!"
Ladies & gentlemen, we have Linkara-squee!
I love your new outfit Lewis!
Oh, Doom 2016 is awesome!
That Christmas AT4W song is fantastic, by the by~
I watched it when it aired back in 1978. I was six, so I thought was good.
