I read that the Deadman story got an editor fired because of Pre-Crisis Kara's appearance as DC was trying to avoid reminding people of the mythos of Pre-Crisis Superman, which include Kara Zorel Supergirl, Krypto, Kandor...etc
But I only just read the story that first introduced both Brainiac and Kandor thanks to the Superman 75 Year Anniversary book available at my local library for free. The story in that book I most want to read is "What's So Funny About Truth Justice and the American Way?" because my favorite Superman movie, Superman vs The Elite, was based on it.
I knew about the mask myself, but I actually FORGOT about it because it's kind of easy to with how the mask looks on him, it makes you think it's an actual part of him with the "deadman" motif then separate clothing.

As far as that guy knows he blacked out for what? An hour? A couple of hours? He's spending his Christmas Eve in the ER making sure he didn't have a stroke.

I didn't realize I needed this video until I watched it. This is my first Christmas without any grandparents, my family basically hates each other, and a whole host of other things to sour the day. This video though, for the first time this year it felt like Christmas, I don't know if it's your voice, the way you talk, maybe just the sincerity as you went over the meanings of the stories and wished us a good holiday. But I really needed it, and I hope you already know how much you mean to all of your fans. On the off chance you don't though, you're our (mine at least) super hero, whenever somethings wrong, just put on one of your videos and whatever is bothering just seems to disappear, whenever happiness is needed, one of your videos is always there. Me too, buddy. I knew it from years ago but had no idea it was in this anthology. Linkara got about four panels into the last story and I thought, "ah, nuts, I know where this is going... best start chopping the onions now."
6:30 I know he does this joke in almost any comic with Superman in it, but that one caught me off guard XD! Also, that part with Supergirl was very profound. I'm glad I watched your video on Crisis on Infinite Earths, it helped me gain the full context of this story.
This was a great review of a pretty fantastic story collection. I loved the first one because it tackles depression in Christmas head on and feels honest, sincere , and warm, very important when dealing with a tricky subject matter like suicide. A very merry Christmas to you and your loved ones Linkara!
This... this was just a perfect way to close out the holiday. The stories were touching, heartwarming, really getting the spirit of the season, and then that promise of things to come. Thank you Lewis, and Merry Christmas. Thank you for so many years of amazing reviews, amazing stories, and just all around being so amazing. Here's looking forward to an amazing anniversary celebration.
"Silent Night" could be a reference to the Christmas of 1914, when British and German forces alike laid down their arms, took time off, and celebrated the season together. Gifts were exchanged, carols were sung on both sides, and it was an overall cheerful time in an otherwise dismal war. It was also the only time during the war that this happened, as it was the first year of the war. By the Christmas of 1915, the Allied forces had been exposed to the horrors of modern war, and were not so keen on the idea of mutual celebration. Thank Extra History for teaching this to me. Have a happy new year, Linkara, and I look forward to more Neutro... eventually. :P
Well from what I heard was it less that there weren't that Okay about have another Christmas as that by this point both Sides completely changed the troupes on the battle filed because after said Christmas did more and more refuse to fight if this wasn't done could this event perhaps in the long run even end the war right then and there.
That joke about necromancy experiments is especially hilarious given what happens in Season 3 of Harley Quinn. Which, since it's not out on video as of the time of this comment I assume Linkara hasn't seen, so I won't spoil it.
So two good, two bad and two excellent. A good ratio for any anthology. As for the holiday theme song, the line that makes it for me at least is the voyeuristic habits of Bill Jemas (The first picture that came up when I googled him to check the spelling makes it even better)
wouldn't make sense with how he plays....but a ronnie raymond firestorm might :3 *also ted kord is probably dead in the injustice universe* Personally I'm looking forward to the TMNT and finding out how they work XD
to be perfectly honest, i read this when i was young and loved it, each story is great in there own ways IMO, from superman showing an old man just why he should live, to a sweet perspective that shows batman and robins relationship, even the silly green lantern and flash brings a smile to my face, these messages are so sincere and all stories showcase the greatness of each character. its almost a perfect combination of why Christmas And superheroes are awesome, just a bunch of great stories that show the silver age at its best
My gf tells me that I talk more and more like Linkara by the day.. I gave her a thumbs up and told her Smooth with a Linkara grin on my face. XD Marry Christmas Linkara, I've watched every episode of atop the fourth wall at least twice, and you still keep me coming back for more. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Hey Linkara, not sure if you'll see this comment, but wanted to thank you for your message at the end of the video. This Christmas has been really pretty tough for a variety of reasons, so it was really nice to be able to watch an Atop the Forth Wall, get some laughs, and relax for a minute. You videos are always great, but this one was really needed. Merry Christmas, and see you next week!
Flashy Starwinger But why would you call him that in a comment? You save one character in total, but until he replies you have to add an extra sentence in parentheses. It would only make sense spoken, because you would save TWO syllables.
Merry Christmas Linkara. Your channel has been a source of amusement and smiles for years. Congratulations on your wedding, I hope you have many happy years together! Also, I look forward to your 10 year celebration.
I remember a Christmas special I saw once where the town, Bluesville (seriously) was even less cheerful and christmasy. It had snow, but mixed with soot.
You know what got me the most? That soft, warm smile just before credits, made me tear up and smile. Thank you for all you've given, Lewis, the smiles, the laughs and everything else. Merry Christmas!
I can't wait for the 500 milestone next year and the tenth milestone also next year. This leads me to wonder what is next after the 400th. Reply if you want to try and guess.
No joke, this video directly inspired me to buy the collection. Even with the lame Green Lantern and Flash story in there, this looks really uplifting. Just what the doctor ordered for these trying times.
“Life is meaningless!” Did you only just figure that out? Did you think Life would assign you meaning? No! If you want meaning in your life, then go out and grab it!
I love both of them, your regular theme is fantastic however the Christmas theme is just special because it's not only a bit different but it's for a special time of year. I kinda wish you'd have a special theme for the times of year that are important for you just to hear what else you and your crew would come up with.
"My religion has demonstrable proof of its existence!" Well...if Satan exists--and he does, assuming DC considers Sandman canon again at the time--then, ergo, the Judeo-Christian God must exist.
Mr. Kite He’s said in The past that with UA-cam being the way it is, he can’t really afford to miss many days otherwise he could lose out on a lot of ad revenue, and he makes these videos for a living.
The Xmas theme to me is like egg nog - you only have it a few times in December, and while memorable, it's a bit too sugary and rich for all year long.
Superman… 😭😭😭😭😭 Clark, he really shows how good heroes are. That's my man. That's my guy. I adore him so much, he just helps people as best as he can! The Batman story ripped my heart away. I'm going to cry. Look at them, man! I love Dick and Bruce a lot, and seeing that comic made me emotional. Silent Night was bittersweet, the WW comic was great and I loved it, …Flash and GL was extremely weird. AND THE LAST ONE KILLED ME, SUPERGIRL... 😭 what's with the Christmas comics and making me cry. Deadman and Supergirl both made me sad, actually… I loved it though, even if it makes my heart break a lot. Out of season Christmas episode viewing experience was 10/10
Aquaman isnt old he just pruned up from being underwater too long.

Merry Christmas for Linkara, and for all his friends!
I bet the Deadman story made anyone who read it after crisis on infinite earths tear up abit
Merry Belated Christmas, Linkara! :)
That joke about necromancy experiments is especially hilarious given what happens in Season 3 of Harley Quinn. Which, since it's not out on video as of the time of this comment I assume Linkara hasn't seen, so I won't spoil it.
Merry Christmas Linkara, hope your days going good.
So two good, two bad and two excellent. A good ratio for any anthology. As for the holiday theme song, the line that makes it for me at least is the voyeuristic habits of Bill Jemas (The first picture that came up when I googled him to check the spelling makes it even better)
Hey, *I'm* having a Christmas with The Superheroes too!
*plays Blue Beetle in Injustice 2*
good luck!
Is there a Ted Kord skin?
wouldn't make sense with how he plays....but a ronnie raymond firestorm might :3 *also ted kord is probably dead in the injustice universe*
Personally I'm looking forward to the TMNT and finding out how they work XD
Warren Ward yep ted is dead in injustice, in the comics he had a tearful goodbye to booster gold
I rock as Blue Beetle! You think eventually they'll release a Ted Kord skin?
The justice league animated series Christmas special is my favorite Christmas thing
That was really great. Honestly I adore that Batman story. Then again any story that focuses on the importance of Robin is welcome
Merry Christmas Linkara
ATOP THE FOURTH WALL ON CHRISTMAS!!! XD
Now that's one hell of a Christmas Present.
to be perfectly honest, i read this when i was young and loved it, each story is great in there own ways IMO, from superman showing an old man just why he should live, to a sweet perspective that shows batman and robins relationship, even the silly green lantern and flash brings a smile to my face, these messages are so sincere and all stories showcase the greatness of each character. its almost a perfect combination of why Christmas And superheroes are awesome, just a bunch of great stories that show the silver age at its best
At4w on Christmas it fits surprisingly well
My gf tells me that I talk more and more like Linkara by the day.. I gave her a thumbs up and told her Smooth with a Linkara grin on my face. XD Marry Christmas Linkara, I've watched every episode of atop the fourth wall at least twice, and you still keep me coming back for more. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, to you and yours, Linkara!
A Swalot? Zeus is a Muk! Hm...Olympian Pokemon forms...
Tuvya Maeir If there were a Greek region and the regional forms were based on G3 pokemon and those who didn't get an Alolan variant.
Eh, I work at a mall, Christmas music has kinda rotted my brain.
Merry Christmas Lewis!
Well Link's (is it okay if I call you Link's?) everyone loves your Christmas theme cause it's good
Flashy Starwinger But why would you call him that in a comment? You save one character in total, but until he replies you have to add an extra sentence in parentheses. It would only make sense spoken, because you would save TWO syllables.
I agree with both of you.
With the Santa thing I thought Santa did exist in the DC Universe.
Merry Christmas Linkara. Your channel has been a source of amusement and smiles for years.
Congratulations on your wedding, I hope you have many happy years together!
Also, I look forward to your 10 year celebration.
In Sweden, we traditionally celebrate Yule on the 24th, so all the celebrating is already over for me.... 8,V But happy holidays, everyone!
Hope you enjoy your Christmas linkara and a Happy New Year
I remember a Christmas special I saw once where the town, Bluesville (seriously) was even less cheerful and christmasy. It had snow, but mixed with soot.
Merry Christmas to Linkara and -AtopTheFourthWall
and happy new year
Superman saying a person would do anything to get a parent back....Well how did that turn out for you Supes lol
The Flash/Green Lantern story feels more like a Blue Beetle/Booster Gold story.
Reply if you want to try and guess.
happy hollidays
oh and i think its time for a new main theme song to be honest you have had the current for almost 10 years
The elves all have strange plastic grins and dots on their heads. So are they the Dominion?
No joke, this video directly inspired me to buy the collection. Even with the lame Green Lantern and Flash story in there, this looks really uplifting. Just what the doctor ordered for these trying times.
Ahhh the Grounded joke ....NEVER GETS OLD !!! Merry Christmas Lewis !!!
I just love that dc is still publishing Christmas stories to this day.
“Life is meaningless!”
Did you only just figure that out? Did you think Life would assign you meaning? No! If you want meaning in your life, then go out and grab it!
I love both of them, your regular theme is fantastic however the Christmas theme is just special because it's not only a bit different but it's for a special time of year. I kinda wish you'd have a special theme for the times of year that are important for you just to hear what else you and your crew would come up with.
10:12
"What villain did they fight where their trophy is a Christmas tree?"
Calendar Man? C'mon, I've played the Arkham games.
"My religion has demonstrable proof of its existence!" Well...if Satan exists--and he does, assuming DC considers Sandman canon again at the time--then, ergo, the Judeo-Christian God must exist.
He does. He's the one the Spectre gets his powers from and works for.
The holiday comic I have is The Flash Annual #2 "Hope for the Holidays." I like it. It's short and simple, but it's sweet.
Merry Christmas you magnificent bastard!
To me, a holiday season is not enough without watching this review.
Merry Christmas Linkara!! Wait. 9 years and one vacation!? No one would complain if you take a few weeks off man.
Merry Christmas Linkara! Thank you for uploading this today! I'm looking forward to your 10th anniversary.
I do love that Christmas theme song.
Ooh! The Tournament of Champions is an anniversary arc - that makes so much sense!
Merry Christmas, Linkara!
Christmas special Comic. First lines are about someone killing someone.
Bats eats rabits. Frank Miller thinks Robins eat rats.
The tree came from calendar man. It smells like a Bradford Pear tree and was ruining the Christmas mood.
Merry Christmas to linkara and all of atop the fourth wall.
Hope you had a great Christmas Linkara! And look forward to your ten year anniversary, just you do exceptional work! :D
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Finland! 😁
Out of season Christmas episode viewing experience was 10/10
Oh that's easy Linkara; they fought Santa Klaus, the German Metahuman who can sense the naughtiness in people! And yes, he is a real villain.
Thank you Lewis, you brightened my holiday season
I have been waiting ever since COUNTDOWN for you to tackle the Legion of Superheroes
The failed Santa hat thing in the theme song is so funny. Merry Christmas!
