The toft sounds warmer but I’ve had that mackie in my studio for so long I enjoy the mackie more. Felt more balanced overall. I’ve been back and forth with should I get a toft or not but since it’s not even available anymore I’ll stick to my mackie and use outboard gear along with plugins and I’m good! Great video!!

8 Bus seems transparent. Toft colours the sound too much. Too muddy. Great comparison! Thanks!

These people claiming the Mackie sounds better need to listen to this again and not thru their phone. The bass extension and overall mix clarity and separation on the Toft is much better. The Toft is darker in the upper mids but considering the console line this mixer was inspired by that is pretty on brand. Trident consoles are in the darker side which is why they make great rock boards. Certainly the Mackie has been a mainstay in home studios for 30 years. But in terms of sound quality it’s a pretty obvious difference here.

I think the Answer is Mixing on the Toft...because of the EQs and the Clean sound and then master on the Mackie........because it more full and saturated

Finally I met someone who is not far from my level :) Good beat, you have a good video here brother. Question... How are you comparing both of these ??? You would have to set tha EQ 100 % tha same on both boards which I don't think we can :( I hear tha Mackie mid's and highs higher. Tha Toft ATB, it's darker, but. Can't you just set tha eq brighter ? Thanks

In this comparison the mackie wins but that's doesn't mean it was the board that gave it the edge. I just think you did a better job of mixing on the mackie. I've heard amazing mixes from you coming out of your toft. Different beats require different tools. There's a reason you need more than one mic pre, compressor, and eq. They shine in different ways.

Hi there, great videos! I have a Toft ATB 16, and I have to say - there's no way that those two mixes should be 'that' different from each other - I love the Mackie 8 bus very much because it's a great desk, but the Toft is in no way inferior to it at all, personally, I don't think this is a fair comparison. I have used both desks and this just isn't right... sorry.

Don't forget, on any piece of analog gear, to let it warm up before you make any critical decisions. Especially gear with tubes. Start a mix on cold gear and it's gonna start to sound different after about an hour lol

Yeah...I agree...the Mackie just sounds more "Radio Ready" Maybe if you could have Both...Mix on the toft...and Master on the Mackie

Mackie 24 8 mix sounds way better, brighter but they shouldn't really sound much different if using the same EQ settings on both mixers.

The mackies not bad but the toft seem to have more depth wider mix, also sounds kinda muddy it's a different kind of board, you have to spend more time on that mix, sounds good keep it up.
