I was all over the Retro Fit Source website last week scouring their products looking for a projector kit that would fit inside the D2 lamp and i'd come to the conclusion that it couldn't be done...
Not fitting the front cover in the original position never entered my head!
How is the beam pattern? I'm assuming Australia checks such things.
Do you remember which model of car you took your projectors out of?
Luckily i'm in the position of having a spare set of lamps. I just replaced mine with a much better pair of used lamps as one of mine has a silt 'tide mark' about two inches up and the other permanently has about an inch of water slopping around in the bottom. Strangely the one with the water inside has all bulb covers in place and the other (dry) one doesn't. That's what led to the lamp filling up with muddy water last year while at an off road weekend.
My plan is to modify the old set of lamps as it doesn't matter if i bugger them up.

I have bought the Morimoto Mini H1 7.0 from Retro fit source. Iv also built one with the Morimoto Mini D2s 4.0 but I couldn't get the cap back on as it stuck out too much.. 🤷
Anyway beam pattern wise it's ovs a RHD pattern and what I did before installing the projector's was found a wall and turn the headlight on and mark the beam pattern on the wall, and once installed I re-aligned it back to that mark.
Cars since gone through a Road worthy and has passed 😁

I think there may be a bit of a demand for these headlights by owners wanting to retrofit to D1 and the first run of the D2. They were expensive straight off the bat and I can only see that value going one way and it's not down. Anyone know the best place to get a set of these?

Thanks for this video. Which LED Halo rings did you use; The 110mm or the 120mm?
I used both. 110 for projector shroud and 120 for high beam ring 😁

@@timburns1939 yes used plasti weld adhesive. Also use some fishing line or something to be 100% sure! I haven't done it but it still holding up

Hello!! depends on what kind of off-roading your wanting to do, but generally a 2"lift and 32"s will get you places, Also! if you haven't already, will be worth getting your Centre Diff Lock, linked or installed, makes world of a difference!
