    Thank you for creating this! I plan to turn two shoulder straps if different widths into one long cross-body strap. I think I will do this by adding hardware and your video clarified this for me!

    I take leftover pieces from belt straps if they are 18 inches or longer and make a two to three piece belt out of it. I then line the flesh side with 3-4 oz leather to hide the stitch lines on that side. I use a 4mm stitch chisel and sew across the skive horizontal to the belt, much stronger than a vertical stitch. For the liner I use a 6mm stitching chisel with 1mm Tiger thread, but for the joint stitches I use .8mm thread and use a color thread that blends in better on the back even though only the wearer of the belt sees them.

      That is great, really useful to know. and great detail. We have the Tiger thread on the website and I can see using that is an advantage as it has a flatter look.
