This is especially a problem on non MacOS and Windows PCs that do NOT run all the camera-specific software!

Hi. I followed everything you did in this video but at the EOscard software screen , the CHDK Raw button is not available to press. Do you know how to fix that ? Also my File System is exFAT . FYI

Thank you so much for making an updated version of this. I was having so much trouble between getting the files on my SD card no matter how many times I formatted it on the camera. I had to format it from my computer THEN the camera, to get the files on my SD card. I also had the firmware issue. had to install the 1.2.0 THEN i had to change the order from how you showed in the video. I ran the SD card through the EOS reader1st THEN i put the files on the card, locked the card, and then everything worked as shown. thank you so much for this. this will save so many people from buying a new camera.

Hey David, the EOS M3 cannot charge through usb (as far as I know) -- however you can replace the battery with a battery that has a charging cable :) it is basically a "dummy battery"

Hi Anais. I hope youre still active here. Im using an EOS M3. But im only getting 480p. How do I change it to 1080p? The camera can film in 1080, so I cant see what settings to change for it to view in 1080p. Hope to hear from you soon
you have an option in menu called Srean saver , or display on , or something like that read teh manual , i have it since Canon 550D , and you can put it up to 30minutes .Needless to say , while Display is on and it is streaming to HDMI , sensor is on and battery dies long before that 30 minutes , in my case it was 5 minutes . I took out the baterry and it was hot , meaning , if you are going to use it like this you need AC adapter . And then it is a question will you get Sound from HDMI , probably not , unless you are recording , but when you are recording what is the point of Streaming . It just uses up power .

Hi Anais, I have a Canon G5X and I followed the instructions for the G5X CHDK. Somehow I cannot get CHDK to boot. Unfortunately, the G5X does not have an Update Firmware function so I can't do the that. Any ideas?
The update firmware function will show up in the menu only of you loaded the right chdk files to your sd card

Heya, that highly depends on your camera, most cameras will do better with a capture card but don't quote me on that :D
my sd card file system is exfat, still can work?

I finally made it:
Main problem: It never showed the warning at the beginning.
- Make sure the SD card is on LOCKED
- if it doesn't work, try another SD card

hey, i have the same cam as yours, why when I insert the sd card to the camera, it doesn't show anything?
did you lock the SD card? I am not showing that part properly in the video
I followed every step, and when i try to turn on the camera it doesnt turn on. Do you have any idea why? (I put the sd card on locked and it wont turn on, turned off lock, unlocked i dont get that menu)
Hmm, what camera are you using? Depending on that, I might have some suggestions on what you could try :)

@@ravneren so that happened to me as well as few times, you have to make sure that the sd card with the pelican is properly set-up. If you unlock your SD card, it should work like normal in your camera. If the SD card is locked and you turn on your camera but the software in not set-up properly on the SD card, your camera will not turn on.
Also, make sure that you are on firmware 1.20 which is not the latest.
I suggest you erase everything on your sd card, check your camera works normally, and maybe retry to install :)

As long as you have a lockable SD card it should work similarly -- let me know if you have any questions
Does this trick also make the box disappear from the face recognition and does the camera stay on permanently? Because mine turns itself off after a maximum of 3 minutes
Yes, exactly, I had the same problem -- this works for me, using it since several months. As long as the SD card is locked, the script will run and additional settings will create a clean HDMI output. Let me know if you have any questions

Ugh hmm I am not sure -- you use the CHDK through the lockable SD card? meaning if it is locked, it will use the CHDK that is on the SD card?
@@AnaisUrlichs I folowed the video you made and yes, i use alocked cd card.
So rewarding. I pulled this off after 2 attempts on 5 sd cards. I wqnt to let you know it only works on 32gb max which is fat 32 it olny works on fat 16 and 32 i believe i tried on 2 4gb, 2 8gb, and a 64gb but anyway thanks sooo much.

The tools I used only works on Windows; maybe there is a way around that I am not aware of :)

At what step do you want to connect? Once you have the camera set-up, you can connect it with micro hdmi. However, it highly depends whether you are using Windows or Linux -- in the case of Linux, the image might not be received properly without a Camlink or similar

Do you know if there is also a way to optimize the display for hdmi? For example, i feel like the output is a tat jittery, but that might just be cause i left it on auto.

Does it work on CANON 80D?
It should, however, I have not tried it so try it at your own risk :D
