- Hey everyone! Hope you're having a fantastic day! In this video, I show you how to "access" the timing belt on a 2000 Toyota Solara with a 4 cylinder, 2.2 L motor. I've gotta say- this is definitely one of my longer videos. But, this is a fairly complex job requiring more time for explanation. I hope that this video has and/or will help you. I had a question... if i was changing the alternator wouldnt the belt just come off as i was taking the alternator off as well. Would i be able to change it then too??
I'm guessing on the timing belt breaks on this model Toyota it doesn't damage the engine. I found this video because I just had a timing belt broke on my 2000 Solara.
I just bought a 1999 Toyota s o l a r a runs well so far this car has 170000 Miles if You had to guess do you think the timing belt has been replaced before. SLE v6 model . Thank You for Your informative video. Sincerely Thomas Raymond Fresno California.
