I’m coming from stan Twitter and let me tell you that we all fall for what Katy is saying here. We’re all hipocrytes that preach about supporting all women but the second someone attacks our fave we attack back with numbers, charts, even personal attacks. It’s just a never ending cycle.
I’m so glad Katy doesn’t worry about that anymore and she’s happy just releasing music for her fans
God, why do y'all do that? Why is it like that? I even saw someone bring up Ari's unfortunate concert bombing as clapback and realized many of you guys are not okay. You don't even feel like humans at times
THE KENYAN SHADEROOM yeah that’s unfortunate. Even tho I’ve seen some change from certain people in some fandoms, there’s always trolls that start fan wars and it gets dirty. The mentality is changing slowly but it’s still a problem that people bring other woman down to uplift another, like there’s no place for both of them to be successful. The industry is like that as well, and also the fact that apparently men’s music are more relatable these days since they’re the ones on top, so women have to work twice as hard to get the same recognition. It’s a mess up thing for sure in several levels.

Luciferus it’s not fake. She’s been making the same comments since her peak era, but it’s easily to get caught in the competition game that stans play. That’s why I tell you we’re hypocrites, we’re also one of the reasons why women have to reinvent themselves twenty times more than men in order to be successful. There’s also the fact that pop isn’t the most popular genre now (hip hop is) and also the general public seem to relate more with male artists, (that’s what charts and radio shows at least) so women in pop have to work harder in order to be noticed.
Katy Perry sets her name as an Artist for a reason, this interview really shows her ability.
Zayne is the best interviewer ever. He listens and doesn't interrupt

He's a bit of a sycophant (this guy can't literally believe every pop artist's new album is so deep and profound) but THAT BEING SAID he knows what to say and how to say things in a way that makes these artists comfortable and so you get some really great answers because of that and because he (at least pretends to be) really interested in what they are saying. These artists have really big egos and are super sensitive and he knows how to expertly navigate that to get them to say things they might not otherwise say; especially if he was more hostile.

it was weird what he said about disappearing, she never wanted to disappear, where is that idea even from. and he's acting as if she doesn't have fans anymore and everyone wants her to take a break. that's not true, we all wanted this album so much and we hope she is going to stay with us
