Idea for a new video, Elliot: Your favourite 3 films 🎥 from each boutique label 🏷️ And/or a top 10 list of boutique labels 🏷️ and how each one differs.
These types of videos are great, always like hearing about lesser known stuff. I’m so impressed so far with Radiance. I’ve bought four releases from them and they’ve all been amazing (Costa Nostra box set, World Noir box set, Yakuza Graveyard and A Moment of Romance)
Love these multi label run downs :) I've seen a few of these already and while I didn't enjoy Mad Cats, I'm in full agreement that Third Window should be applauded for giving us access to this type of film making. For every one I didn't resonate with, there are another 2 that I loved. Intrigued by the Grasshopper releases here (although Casa De Lava looks like its with Second Run here) although I'm struggling to source them, but I'll keep an eye out. Great as always.
Really looking forward to the Bill Morrison film on Second Run, I really like Dawson City, and the BFI set of his work was fantastic. Cheers for the recommendations!
I admire your cinematic passion and knowledge Elliot. I really do hope i can get Allonsanfan and Francesca in the near future. Thanks for the recommandations . And i recommend vinegar syndrome set called Mexican gothic 3.films by carlos enrique taboada. This set was pure delight. Always take care
Elliot if you’re into Third Window then their release of Shinji Sinai’s Typhoon Club (under their new Directors Club line) is an absolute must! Cinema Guild do have a 4K release but news on it has been very quiet lately so I’m not sure what’s happening with it, but the Third Window blu is from the same 4K remaster and it’s a stunning watch. One of the best Japanese films of all time
I was just thrilled I got a hold of Second Run's Andrzej Wajda's War Trilogy blu-ray set thanks to them being region free. And sometimes next week my Piotr Szulkin End of Civilization set from Radiance.
I had the opportunity to see an Anselm in 3-D but missed it. 😢 I assume the purpose of the 3-D is that the sculptures exist in a 3-D space, as opposed to a something like a flat painting.
I really enjoyed Mad Cats, as the title suggests, it was completely mad. A great joke in the film about the centipede and the cockroach! Thanks for the other recommendations, I will check some of them out 👍
@@ElliotCoen Hey dude, I’ve been looking at buying some of the shelf’s you recommended in your video, however how many rows high did you go? On the link it shows three rows across and 12 rows high. Looking closely at the measurements for each bay, it’s says they are 5.7” high. A Blu-ray case measures nearly 7” high. I’m assuming you had to alter the heights of the shelves to get the cases to fit.
I did see it in 3D with Wenders in attendence at a film festival and it's one of the best uses of 3D I ever witnessed - and I normally don't like 3D stuff, so it's a real pity that it wasn't published also on a 3D blu-ray.
Watch this video next for the UNMISSABLE 4K Blu-rays of last year - ua-cam.com/video/b4kE9TvLSMU/v-deo.html

Thanks for the kind words! Radiance are indeed doing brilliant stuff in the blu-ray space. I'm happy you've enjoyed those ones so far.
I haven’t heard of a single one of these films! I do know Tak Sakaguchi though. Great video.
Thanks so much. Enjoy the films if you seek any out!

Thanks as always Chris! I think you’ll enjoy the Grasshopper discs. It very much seems like a label that would be up your street!
Morning Elliott, excellent vid of films i wouldn't normally hear about, looks like the wallet will be hit hard again 😮
Sorry but also not sorry about that Marty. Enjoy any of these films you do get around to watching!

Thanks Tom! I do really want to get some of Third Window’s Directors Club line. They look amazing. Cheers as always :)
You sold me on those Bill Morrison films!
They are unique! No one does it like Bill.

Thanks Eliot. Enjoyed it.

I think you’re right about how the 3D would be used in the documentary. I’m hoping I can see it someway somehow one day. Cheers

Yes. Region A and B
Yes it’s available in the UK!
Thank you@@ElliotCoen
Lot to consider 👍 Wonder was that Chuck Norris only film as a baddie? 😊
There is a release in Germany for Anselm on Blu-ray 3D. Does the UK release have subtitles? I may need to mux them into the german release...
Hey Elliot, I understand that you must get asked this question all the time but where are your blu-ray shelves from? Thanks.
Hey! I have a video on that exact topic with some links to where to buy. Cheers! - ua-cam.com/video/kU311QK1cfk/v-deo.htmlsi=UmGpZNeZhPx6uhcz
@@ElliotCoen thank you very much sir. Great channel too. I’ve just subscribed. Keep up the good work.

謝謝分享👍👍👍
Anselm Kiefer is the name of the artist.
You’re right, I keep messing that up! Cheers
