i have grbl 0.9, the spindle works with Z+
Err this video doesn't explain anything. Why show the sig pin of the relay being wired up to the spindle enable pin, only to scrub that out and reconnect it to the Z axis end stop pin? It doesn't make any sense unless you explain why, but you haven't explained anything at all. If you need to use the Z axis end stop as a spindle enable pin, what are you supposed to do for a Z axis end stop?
Use the SpnEn pin for the Z axis endstop. This is a known bug in grbl (or arduino, I don't remember).
I was wondering the same thing, I found the explanation in some code I was checking "NOTE: IMPORTANT for Arduino Unos! When enabled, the Z-limit pin D11 and spindle enable pin D12 switch!" openbuilds.com/threads/spindle-how-does-it-work.6967/
