Just getting started again with fishing. Dream about it every night. New year, new baits, new rod and reel . All new outlook on this year for fishing with a bunch of your baits and wisdom
Go hard for a few years you'll become a decent angler! Watch all the UA-cam videos! MLF GET INTO! FISH LAKES . PONDS .CREEKS . EVERYWHERE. on foot is the best way to learn in my opinion, walking around the bank overcoming obstacles
For whatever reason, I struggled with the A-Rig in 2024, now I don't have forward facing sonar, but I've always caught them in the past without it. Now on the flip side, I had be best days with a rattle trap. I've always caught them on one but I just flat out tore them up in 2024, mostly in the fall as you can see on my videos. Thanks for the videos!
Just picked up a pack of Congo Craws. First thought was Free Rig. Put one on a jig too and it looks delicious. Can't wait to get out there and sling em!
I'm right there with you on the Berkley Krej... I bought a bunch of them and they tend to follow it or run from it more then eat it. I basically only fish Toledo and Rayburn so maybe it's just a pressure thing... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Gonna sound odd, but hear me out. Fish the krej with a fast burn on the top like a jackal riser is fished. Curiousity got the best of me as well, I was using it for smallmouth last year, was burning it back finishing a cast and one ate it on the top. So i started fishing it like that and it actually produced bites over fishing it the way it was designed. If you have any of them its worth a shot to at least try, just something different they don't see as often and from experience it works.
I love 6th Sense lures, but we all can agree that Hangover was the worst bait of the year. Excellent marketing, but it smelled like paint and did not swim worth a damn. And you came up with the color PRO BLUE?
Must be an error of the fisherman, I've caught some tanks on the hangover. It is hard to get to swim right but once you figure out the reel speed it's great
@@aaronstandley4581it's the same as the magdraft or the citizen, they have a magic spot on the speed. I smash striper on the 6" WCZ citizen, only issue is they're impossible to find
LMAO. He thinks he came up with that color, but Megabass did a long ass time ago.....but if you look at a shitload of 6th sense baits, they copy Megabass so bad, it's kind of pathetic.
I agree on the swimjig part. I only caught fish on a swimjig in pads/reeds, thats it. Grass lines, nope. Laydown's, nope. Docks, very few. Chatterbait just worked so much better this year than a swimjig its not even funny. Jerkbaits where crazy for me this year. All year, every single trip I was throwing a jerkbait. I caught 100+ bass in 6 hours on it. Not to mention a big bag of pre spawn smallies. Caught a ton of big ones on a berkley nessie, but wasn't fishing it like a glide bait (because its terrible,) just reeling it in as fast as I could with a 8:3:1 reel up against sea walls, and for some reason the bigger fish just always slammed it, caught my biggest this year a 5 lbs 12 oz largemouth (I'm from michigan, a 5 pounder is big)
Happy new year Milliken🎉🎉 My best bait of 2024 is the MegaBass Dark Sleeper, got me a 5lb smallmouth in a tournament. Had one that caught me like 20 bass before I broke it off.
My opinion is you need to fish the Klash differently. Yes you can catch them as a crank down but it's not the best way. Austin in my opinion fishes them the best way which is dead walk or glide mode.
Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video . Thanks for sharing everything and most importantly stay safe and have fun good luck this year
Every tournament I finished in the money in last year I caught my fish on a Spinnerbait and/or Jig. Funny you mention the stick worm, I don’t think I weighed a fish on one in 2024. It’s generally my 3rd or 4th most productive lure. The more I catch on a jig the better I do.
I threw that hair jig for years on Douglas lake TN.. this year didn’t even get one bite.. but I feel a lot local guys have caught on to this over year’s..
Best lure was a jackhammer. In that guntersville grass. Saw you out here when you were here after wheeler but just couldn't make myself pull up on you while you were fishing.
I’ve gotten better luck the past few years from using old crank & top water baits from my late grandfathers tackle. I’m starting to believe based on my success with them, that the old ones had a better general understanding of nature than we do today. Looks like some tackle companies are innovating themselves into bankruptcy, rather than sticking to & improving on what already works. I don’t even recommend pro anglers waste their money on rods made of exotic composite, possibly toxic materials (they never fully explain to us what some of that junk is really made of) or baits that look like they were simply produced just to put something on the shelf for the following year. I’ve lived in Japan & imo they are possibly the worst for junk innovations that somehow get a new life when they are pimped stateside as the second coming in tackle “innovation” you can’t go wrong with the basic staple products that have kept US tackle companies in business for the past 40-50+ years (because they work) idk about that other stuff.
As a Texas bank angler. Strictly bank. Here's my list. 1)6th Sense Panorama 2-3.5 inch. These were killer strolling under a cork. Bass and crappie ate them up. The 3 ½ on a reaction tackle ewg 1/10oz Ned was a bedfish killer. 2) 6th Sense Crube on reaction tackle 1/10oz ewg ned hooks. Another bedfish killer when they were no longer fish aggressive. You could just change colors and catch the same fish over and over. 3)CAST ECHO. I didn't have an infinite supply or money to keep using these. The bass killed them immediately. (2+ dollars a cast is too much) 3) 6th Sense juggle minnow. There's not much you can't do with it. You can stroll it (super easy to make it roll). Killer chatterbait trailer on the MiniMax. 4) Outkast Stealth Fieder Jig. This jig is crazy nuts. The skirt is off the chain fine. Has a heavy wire hook so you spinning reel guys/galls can get in the game. 5) Senkos/stick baits or wacky worms by BizzBaits. I don't think your going to find a better plastic than what these guys make. There senko/stick baits are the best.
Honesty the best bait for me this year was a Texas rigged senko I caught 4, 5 1/2 lbs bass this year. I probably caught 50 bass on a stick worm so ya that was my best lure. Love the videos Ben keep it up man! Also got new 7,4 6th sense rod and definitely gonna get some more! Great stuff coming in 2025 I know it!!
New to the channel and playing catch up. Maybe I haven’t seen it yet? But I’d love to see a video on how you go about breaking down a new body of water.
my best baits this year were some prototype weedless walking topwaters I made...My worst ones were some prototype weedless glides...those are gonna take some time to get right...I only fish lures I make. Gives me something to do in the winter.
Leaning toward this approach. I make a bunch of balsa sticks that work well bottom bouncing for walleye. Really enjoy understanding how the designs hit and miss. I make all my own Muskie hard baits and fish them in the wood (where they belong) fearlessly.
I'm just a bank fisher and fish the same little lake all the time. My best baits are Texas rigged lizard and lipless crankbait. In 2023 I probably caught over 200 bass over 5 pounds and last year I only caught 3. Why does a lake change so much?
I agree with conditioning and pressure. They get wise to seeing the same bait over and over... Like seeing the same WORM over and over. They get wise to it.
In years past I have spent spring thru fall throwing a Whopper Plopper and enjoyed success, but 2024 it just wasn’t the deal in my part of Arkansas. I did, however, find more success and build more confidence in walking baits

I’m right with you on stick baits, the krej, hair jigs, and swim jigs. I caught one on a swim jig last summer. Never had a bite on any of the other stuff. That being said though, I’ve seen people produce a pile of fish on a vibrating jig. The best year I had with them was in 2010, then had mild success with it in 2023. It just doesn’t work for me.
Some of my better baits this year, chatter bait mini max, Congo craw, clout, shakey worm. Football jig, lipless Some of my worse - speed wake ,compared to last year. Just didn’t get a many or as big, swim jig

Nicely done
Berkeley tried to be innovative and failed. Back to knocking off small Japanese companies
Berkeley has done more for fishing than 1000 of you!!! 😂😂😂
Just a matter of time till they are finally bankrupt and no one shows up to put in an other hundert millions…
I found the BERKLEY burner account 💀
The Krej was a knock off of the Jackall Riser
Just like 6th sense!
Happy New Year everyone 🎉

Please DO discuss some JDM baits, always good to hear when some oddity is killing it or not.

Great channel. Best bait in 2024 for me was Spro RK. Worst was anything with the Basspro shop logo on it.

Divine 3.2” w/ Core Tush 3/16 oz. Pro Shad or Electric Shiner, caught piles of fish this year on this combo.
Flat sided cranks, specifically the spro little John in chartreuse and blue

I crushed them on the jighead minnow stuff but the Jackall Drift Fry has let me down big time, looks great but fish don't seem to like it idk.

Worst: Queen tackle flipping jig
