The real problem with AI is the hard working coders are angry and depressed and are nihilists. If AI is bad it’s going to be intentional with lazy supervisors.

What will happen is; Humans will just shift taste towards things that are not automated, the highly unique stuff, making these more valuable than automated stuff. All automated things will be very cheap, close to common goods in terms of cost. But one thing that will happen for surre is a major decline in birth rates. Fewer humans means that there will be a higher incentive to attract and encourage real humans into places; cities, countires, restaurants, settlements or residential areas, etc.

This scenario can only play out if AI takes over and becomes autonomous and decides to keep humans as pets. Otherwise, human nature will not allow this outcome.

"the world is a reflection of you", this applied to humans, and I think this is the truest thing I know. Now take that and wonder what people will buy, or spend money on. That reflection, will people want to pay for things made by AI, or will people spend their money on things made by humans. That I think is what people are wondering. How people will value human efforts vs AI.. I think AI art is amazing, but will people spend lots of money on AI vs human art?
AI will replace humans like tractors will replace humans.

This will happen only if people push very very hard for a shift in this direction
It takes the power away from the ruling class and such a thing is definitely not in their interests.
There should be a big push of young people with this utopian view into independent politics to slowly nudge us into this direction.
It is less likely to end up with population limitations and very few living good on the backs of the robots and AI
But there is no TNG scenario without a world government.
There is no world government without surrender of nationality.
And it looks like people don't like that.
You never see that dark side and surrender of personal freedoms and options behind and before utopian unification in TNG.

The transition from capitalism to that utopia is very uncertain.
Without very strong freedom and unity among people it will not happen. The power structure wants to rule not divide prosperity. They would be out of a job or better to say satisfaction of power. Certain types are not content on just being well off and free
