Have any of you ever owned a Siamese cat? The male chocolate point I've had for the last 12 years looks and acts EXACTLY like these two. Complete with the slanty eyes, sinuous tail, triangular-shaped face and white whiskers. Siamese like to jump and hanging from curtains is exactly something they'd do. Actually, that "baby cry" sounds exactly like my Siamese when he wants my attention. I find this little cartoon to be very accurate in its portrayal, but it does make Siamese look like crafty kitties. They're not crafty, just smart, playful and affectionate.
Rod Labbe I have and my sister loved it, It was named Smokey and she was a sweet cat, I'm offended only by how in movies they make dogs nice and cats mean, fun fact my uncle used to have such a sweet black and white cat, and a dog bit one of her legs off, don't worry she's still alive remember though cats and dogs are equally sweet, you can't say one is sweeter than the other, my dog is a Chihuahua and he's been living with cats mostly the rest of his life, and he loves cats, he tries to play with them, cats and dogs are both sweet some what I've always liked cats more, but I love most animals so I don't know which animal I like the most.
There's nothing to fear. It's not like they're hiding in your closet right now. Watching you sleep. Ready to lean in real close and whisper: "We are Siameeeese."
when i was little my therapist would sing this song play it out with these 2 beanie baby siamese cats, i got to keep them when she retired. Still brings back very happy memories
This is totally symbolic and metaphorical for what two family members did to me for years. Manipulation, blame, sneakiness, greed, disempowerment, sulking, lashing out then acting like victims.
Cute video. Please tell me how this is racist? They are shown with the Oriental music in the background and accents because Siamese are Oriental cats. So would something like Beverly Hills Chihuahua racist because the dog is given a Mexican accent? And yes, I think the cats were portrayed as having "cattitude" rather than ethnic stereotypes.
They're speaking stereotypical "broken English" in spite of the fact that they are cats and all the other animals in the movie speak quite well. Also, the buck teeth are a notorious Asian stereotype dating back at least decades and probably centuries before this movie was made and which was particularly prevalent in caricatures of Japanese people in World War II propaganda. Cats don't have buck teeth; if they have protruding teeth at all it would be their canines, which are further apart and not nearly as visible as depicted, even allowing for the fact that it's animated (none of the other animals are this stylized, so it seems intentional to force their teeth closer together). If it was JUST the teeth or JUST the background music, it probably wouldn't be an issue, but with all the elements combined, the scene is pretty iffy. The behavior, on the other hand, is classic cat behavior and the scene still made me laugh because I think we've all known a cat like this. I just acknowledge that overall, and with historical context, the song could certainly be seen as offensive to Asians even if you're not actively looking to be offended.
Chinchillazilla54 Ok the buck teeth may have been unnecessary, I can see that. However, I still don't see the accents as something offensive. I don't know about the other breeds of origin of the other animals in this video. Siamese are oriental and were given oriental accents; similarly, chihuahuas in media are given Mexican accents since the breed is originally from Mexico. Maybe they tried portraying the cats as exotic too..IDK. Yeah, the behavior just reminded me of my own cats so I found it funny and cute
hellokittenify Not arguing any of your points, but now that I think about it, it's kind of weird that German Shepherds of all breeds aren't usually given German accents haha.

At the same time, real siamese people (Thai people) are totally fine with it.
Dee mahk krup. :)
It's not rasict take a joke!!
I’m Thai and these are correct representation of our royal Siamese cats.
Shani Nya I know! Cats are sweeties, too!
+Melissa Tamagotchi They're amazing pets. So much personally and affection.
+Katie Ann They're incredible pets--so affectionate and smart!
Noice LPS Bolt? The cat there turned out nice afterwards. Though I do understand that they always portray cats as evil. Very sad :(
These guys made me scared af as a kid and I would get it stuck in my head and I’d get nightmares

The siamese are cool.
Cats are better than dogs
We are Siamese if you please,

Now we lookin' over our new domicile,

when i was little my therapist would sing this song play it out with these 2 beanie baby siamese cats, i got to keep them when she retired. Still brings back very happy memories
This is totally symbolic and metaphorical for what two family members did to me for years. Manipulation, blame, sneakiness, greed, disempowerment, sulking, lashing out then acting like victims.
Spot on! Me too.
I had a long haired one many years ago. Miss that rotten little ball of fur even after 16 years.
Am I the only one who used to be absolutely terrified of these cats
This was one of my favorite parts when I was little lol
Always loved these cats! Now have 3 Siamese... :D
SOMEBODY DOPE NEEDS TO SAMPLE THIS SONG

Ky Avery I’ve always thought this too
I’ve never seen lady and the tramp so when I heard this audio on tiktok I had to look it up. It has now been stuck in my head all day
It would be hilarious seeing this song and the Remake version switched around that would be so funny and really hilarious.
To me this is so nostalgic I love this song this is the only reason I watch lady and the tramp

Ok the buck teeth may have been unnecessary, I can see that.
Bruce Banner
why are u a cat?
TheIrishEnigma it's not weird at all...german accent isn't funny
